  • DyAc™ is an exclusive technology designed by ZOWIE to reduce motion blur seen in LCD technology. It reduces ghosting in fast game scenes, minimizes screen shaking in rapid firing, and tracks speedy enemies better.
With the release of the XL-X series, DyAc™/ DyAc⁺™ has been upgraded to DyAc™ 2 with dual backlight control technology, which enhances blur reduction & reduces crosstalk over the entire screen while providing a soft light output to facilitate eye adaptation.

I have a feeling that this video misses the mark on the true benefit of dyac2.
    TLDR:
Motion clarity is now consistent across the entire panel. There is also potential for a small improvement in latency over ulmb2.
The most crucial change in ulmb2 is that the overdrive is varied from the top to the bottom of the screen. This is results in better clarity because pixels in an lcd panel are updated from top to bottom. This means that although a pixel at the top of the screen may have already received an update, it must wait for the rest of the pixels below it before the strobe occurs. This waiting period means that a pixel at the top always has more time to "settle" than a pixel at the bottom of the screen and therefore needs to receive less overdrive than a pixel at the bottom. On monitor with without ulmb2, only about one third of the pixels receives the correct amount of overdrive which results in double imaging and/or ghosting in the other two thirds. An additional affect of this waiting period is that the pixels at the top of the screen have more latency than the pixels at the bottom. You can experience a similar effect when playing at high fps on low refresh rates with vsync off. The pixels at the top of the screen appear to lag behind the bottom. Although this is not addressed with ulmb2, the effect is minimal at high refresh rates and is easy to ignore.
I might be wrong here, but the crucial change for Dyac2 monitors seem to be the ability to strobe different sections of the backlight at different times. This would completely circumvent the double imaging and ghosting since you can just strobe batches of pixels as soon as they're ready. This could be better than ulmb2 because there is no need for extreme overdrive on the pixels at the bottom of the screen, and because there is less latency for the top pixels since the extra waiting period is more or less eliminated.
I think these demo videos need to include pursuit camera tests since that's when bfi technology truly shines.

Biggest letdown with BenQ is the lack of 60HZ support for Dyac 2, so that means those of us who play Fighting Game esports like Street Fighter 6 etc has to stick to the Viewsonic XG2431 which is the only Blurbuster 2.0 certified monitor.

Try setting a stopwatch for 1-5ms and pausing it in that time span. You won't even be able to react lol. From gsync, although I do not use gsync, to dyac, I can tell you that gsync is better, because at least gsync does not hurt your eyes and only adds 1 more ms on compatible gsync monitors, and monitors with native gsync do not add more, turn on Dyac adds 4 more little more, that's why I didn't use it but I fell for their marketing, I don't recommend Benq at all, I spent 449 dollars in vain, to end up with one for 299 dollars in the end.
