The episode was on ForcesTV last night. So funny because they were on the verge of corpsing so many times. And now I find the outtakes.....it all fits together. 😆

Seems those who do not go to the recordings are missing out a lot of great fun!

Thanks for this wonderful video! I read that Peter Sellers had done all the rehearsals in his own clothes. This particular recording was the first time Eric and Hattie had seen him in the full make up and wig with his teeth blacked out, which didn't exactly help them to keep a straight face!
Love how Hattie is trying valiantly to stay in character from 1:02, then Peter admits in their passionate clinch he accidentally bit her earring off, and they all fall about laughing (very sweet how he keeps holding her hand!) Everyone who worked with Hattie loved her, she was so charming, warm, kind and very feminine, a real lady.
Hattie Jacques was supreme at comedy, and if an actor can do that, they can do anything. So it's a great shame she got typecast in comedy roles, due to her figure. That amazing actress was so talented, she could have played a diverse range of interesting characters if only producers and casting directors had used their imagination and given her more opportunities. She lamented her typecasting in a TV interview with Tony Bilbow in 1980, the year she died at just 58.
I'm a former TV producer and it's funny to hear the late 'Hi-de-Hi' star/comedian Felix Bowness @ 5:11 keeping the audience entertained during breaks in recording. He was one of the best known warm up men in the business, and his famous pals like Eric Sykes and Ken Dodd would request him personally for their TV studio shows.
Over the years he was the regular warm up man for 'Morecambe and Wise', 'The Two Ronnies', 'Wogan', 'This is Your Life' and 'Noel's House Party', among others. Great warm up artists are few and far between - it's a very demanding job, and they are largely unsung heroes! Felix achieved fame in his own right from 1980 - '88, as Jockey Fred Quilley in the hit BBC sitcom 'Hi-de-Hi.
Felix died in September 2009 aged 87. Sadly he retired from acting in 2003 after he was diagnosed with dementia, but I know he was still working as a warm up man in 1994 aged 72, and probably beyond. To be keeping a studio audience entertained like that in your seventies is no mean feat!

@@adebinelli8182 You are most welcome my friend, thank YOU for taking the time to upload this gem of a video, full of wonderful outtakes (we love to see the mistakes, so heart-warming when the stars get the giggles!)
I didn't know it when I wrote my earlier post but Felix Bowness also starred in an episode of 'Sykes'in 1972.
