Shot peening: surface treatment for a longer service life

The critical area of a commercial vehicle spring under high load is its surface. Even minor flaws in the surface layer can create starting points for cracks. To avoid spring fractures, we at Schomäcker treat the surfaces of our springs with shot peening. This process ensures a more homogenous surface and creates a residual compressive strength.
