- This is my guide for building a Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction Lightning fury/Charged Strike Javazon. It covers some gear you should be wearing (Griffons, eth titans, etc) as well as important things to note such as Increased Attack Speed and places you can farm optimally.

Just started Path of Diablo (after finishing my PoE league goals) and found this. TY for the guide. I love Amazons and never really played them as much as Necro/Pala/Barb, but now is the time :) God, this game is a masterpiece!

I made a javazon on my plugy some week ago. My god. She´s a goddess of sanctuary. Of course being an inexperienced player.... it takes time but from level 40-50 took like 2 hours. I was impressed. Now, of course, my sorceress had done the hard work of farming the grail stuff/runes so it was easier. But within my own account - sharing is caring.
Javazon is a beauty, especially once you get an infinity merc to lower those resistances. Everything dies!!

Great Video !! I am building one but stuck at Hell. Because of those lighting immune monsters.....
Currently I'm running Ancient's Pledge for resistances and Insight on merc. Thoughts? I don't want to be chugging mana potions again but if there's better alternatives that don't make the mana consumption so heavy, I'm down for it.

yeah man! I think it'll probably be my first build for D2R that I play by myself. I think I'm going to play Fire Druid with my father as that was the first character I played with him all those years ago :)

Won’t this get roflstomped in later difficulties when lightning immune snobs show up?
Can someone explain why you cant miss as a javazon? Or am i not understanding correctly? Dont you need dex for attack ratng? Or why does the abilities not need it? I have never used a amazon ever so I dont know the class. But a friend of mine is Rolling one and I want to be able to help him out.
I use up'ed Mosers with 2x 15 ias jools for high attack speed, very important!

Show max on each char regardless of equipment cost. I see a lot of guides using budget gears and items and i hold on to those not knowing i have better. Wanting to be a softdev too :D

Really loving the guides. Quick question: in terms of MF runs, how would a javazon compare to say, a blizz sorc or hammerdin? I want a main that can carry me through hell and get me finding that sweet loot. Your channel is getting me back into D2 and I haven’t played in 10+ years.
Blizz sorc is by far the best choice, especially when starting out.
Teleporting around with 105% fcr is too efficient to pass up. + No other char makes stacking 350% mf so easy - with 3x tals pieces for instance, just too O.P. even in later stages imo.
Also getting the basic gear like magefist/trang gloves, vipermagi, shako, occu, spirit monarch is not too hard a grind.
Makes it reliable everywhere, get yourself a nice zealot/smiter for ubers and go from there.
Once u get enigma a hammerdin becomes a viable option, once inifity comes in light sorc and javazons really shine. Javazons are fine even without infinity and u usually dont need/ runem with enigma anyways, but teleporting is what sets the sorc apart.
I encounter boss mob that's immune to lightning and my javazon can't even kill it. Any advise?
It looks like you don't max Lightening Strike and Lightening Bolt, but I can't tell how many points were puts in cause of the skill boost.

isnt it better to max out power strike since it gives u 10% bonus per lvl to lightning fury ?

Hello. Just one question on Javazon. Does a Javazon build consumes the weapon after using Lightning fury/Charged Strike? I mean Do those skilles work like through weapon? Thank you.
Lightning fury does, charged strike does not. That is why they recommend titan revenge as your weapon, it replenishes the quantity of your javelin.
Hey @MrLlamaSC My Lightning fury does not split into 3 bolts or more when i hit an enemy, Is this a bug? HELP!
No they don't always split. When they split you need to hit an enemy and the javelin to pierce. Razortail will give you pierce, and the passive skill will give you pierce.
You completely missed the lightning immune monsters. How do you deal with them? Especially if you can't avoid them in Quests.
Infinity on your merc.
infinity, lower res wand, or just skip them :D
don't even need an infinity on your merc if you can't afford one. My java zon that I just made uses a merc with a might aura to help him kill, an eth Obedience CA, Stone Wirefleece and VGaze. Him on top of 1 point into valk is plenty to handle light immunes.
And honestly might even want to use treachery instead of stone to give him fade for damage reduction and resistances on top of that insane ias to kill light immunes.
Or altnernative, you just take a single point in poison jav
I feel like bowmazon was easier and then later on switch/reset to javelin when you have enough points or when you get lightning fury. Also one point in slow missiles was game changing when you have ranged enemies in a tight space

Looks like you haven't tried rabbies druid. One bite clears entire cow farm. I want to see a javazon do that! :D
javazon got nerf my zone got 10 k dmg back in 2008 or so i add 300 000k dmg i could one shot the whole game was crashing the shiit
You have any suggestion for a shield runword if you dont find stormshields etc and if you are not a ladder character so Spirit is out of the equation? What would be a good chest/ shield runeword combination?

Just getting into some D2 endgame for the first time and chose a Javazon, and I have 1 question... How would you repair an ethereal titan's revenge? Or does it somehow replenish fast enough to not warrant repairs? Could someone please explain this to me, thanks!
it depends a bit on your playstyle but if you are really spamming LFs then it's best to have 2 sets and you can switch between them (weapon switch)

you don't get might aura until nightmare. Really depends on your needs, I like might aura more personally but you'll probably just wanna run holy freeze honestly.
Would it be optimal to have T-Stroke on weapon switch for boss fights, and titan for normal clearing?
Yup!
Eth titans all day, id even consider switching out that diadem for Andy's and just running Andy's fort infinity on your merc and just cruise through. The extra damage you lose ends up being so miniscule compared to what you can get with skillers plus torch and anni. You end up with 100 pierce just with a point into penetration and the razortail.

Hello Mr. LamaSC i enjoy watching your D2 Material - and this video guide about my beloved Javazon is amazing - i replay D2 right now and struggeling about the Merc i use to support my beloved Valkyrie - she can tank all and everyhting but needs the dmg of the Act2 Merc i use (he is Def Aura) but he pretty dies a lot here in hell so can you please help me to find the best gear? I got Crown of Thiefes or Guillaumes Face and using a Treachery Armor but i lack the Polearm ... got only a Woestave which seems to work pretty solid on thrash mobs ... but what is your recommandation?
many polearms can be great. Bonehew is great, reaper's toll is another cheap option, if you have some funds you can get an infinity or something better like that. That stuff will help a lot

Avoid them or get a lower reistance CHARGES (not +to lower resist) wand and use that!
Sup, what about merc's gear?
How do you get ammunition for javelins? If a javelin stack drops then do I only have the amount that is on that stack or is there a way to increase the ammo other than that exact stack with those exact stats dropping again? (not gonna happen obviously)
Repair them before the stack runs out :)
i run mine with Uped E titan + Phoenix, Coh, Raven frost, 1 20str ring with other mods, for the Phoenix with 156 Str Req, Thunder God, Grif Eye, Eth Treks, High lords ammy, on merc E-fort Gulliums helm and Infinity cv, i run this char in hell Chaos in HardCore, but i have not run 1 the last season, spending my time in PoE

I used Bloodfist gloves from lvl 9 to 81 I think, before I managed to craft a 20ias lifeleech gloves. They are good so keep them if found.
yep bloodfist is one of the best low level uniques in the game
With a unique javelin like the one in the video, if the quantity reaches 0 does it disappear or do you just need to repair it?

Yea no need for attack rating at all woth this build. Your attack always hits regardless.

Hey stud! I just started hell, found a manald heal I think it's called in nitemare and some silkweaves as well. I have better options but those keep my mana very healthy. I am running into so many light immune issues, is infinity the only way to break that? Will the -light on griffons break light immunes? Not sure what to do so I invested a bunch of points into freezing arrow and found a kuku shakuko but it takes a full mana bar to kill a few enemies. Getting frustrated!
only a lower resistance charge wand or infinity will break immunities. Nothing else (except like amp dmg to break phys immune).
Exploding arrow or freezing arrow are both great, but you need to pick one and kinda go hard at it. Once you get to hell though, it gets tough. Really you just gotta dodge immunities and not fight them. Or get a really strong valk.

MrLlamaSC one more question!!:) do I want an insight on my merc? I found a bonehew I think it's called and put two amn runes in it but the only lifesteal my merc has so he dies fast without it. I found a guillames helmet for him and am tempted to socket it with a 15% attack speed jewel with the socket quest

not really, most of your dmg is lightning. That just increases requirements

Hello llama ! Im actualy runing a javazone aswell and i just hit hell, impossible te get pass act 2 cause almost everything is lightning immune ( scarabs etc..) is it worth it for me to respec into full valk and finish hell like this then spec back to lightning Ama ?
Multiple options for sure:
1. Teleport past
2. Boost Valk up. She can handle
3. Skip as much as you can
4. Find some small alternative (exploding arrow bow)
things like that!

Probably just the standard defensive nightmare merc for holy freeze. Though you could use an A5 barb if ya really wanted
Lol, started a Javazon as the first serious char to get somewhere. Level 34, running around nm act 1 (yes, i am a noob of sorts... please have patience. Well this thing was meant to be: Found Razortail off normal Baal i think. As i am german and play the german version of the game (can't change that easily), i didn't immediately notice "Klingenschweif" as being "Razortail". Luckily i held on to it and didn't sell it bc i didn't notice what it was. Whoa.
razortail is fantastic, nice find!
I prefer cat's eye amulet over highlord's on an Amazon for that nice faster run/walk.
As for boots, I would say silkweaves.
As for rings, nothing beats a ravenfrost and a manald heal for some juicy mana leech.
I also like to use enigma on javazon, not even for the teleport, but mostly for the added faster run/walk.

ya between MF odds and trade value the items aren't TOO expensive.

Rarity of the item. I.e. zod runewords are extremely expensive.
Griffons is pretty damn hard to find though lol.

You can get all ladder only items in single player except ladder only runewords (unless you mod or alter the runes.txt file)
I've being try to get this build working. Early days (level 14) I'm struggling with mana management. Any ideas or just push through and it sorts itself out?
Just hit 30 leveling a new Javazon as a first character on the remastered d2. It is a struggle . I’d suggest venturing with lots of mana potions , but it does get a little better as the gear upgrades .
If you’re following every bit and are omitting energy points , don’t waste money on expensive mana potions . You can use the cheap ones for a long time .
@@jivemtl5155 good call on the cheap mana pots. In level 25 now and with a few +mana after kill bonuses it's become more manageable. Goodluck with your build!

Llama, what do you think about Knockback gloves for Javazon? In my opinion, they are useful when throwing a javelin and ,with pierce, having a chance to knockback enemies and doing a great amount of damage. Same with Charge Strike - Knockback and instant kill, but can't Pierce. I know that 2/20 Knockback Java Gloves are expensive, but Cleglaw gloves are cheap. Let me know about this opinion and what do you think about knockback and pierce with Lightning Fury. :)
knock back on javazon has little to no effect, as only the javelins would carry the knockback, not the lightning fury skill itself. And also you might want your target to stay in one place when you charged strike anyways. You can shop for +2 20 blue gloves at anya act 5
You've still do not understand. Knockback has effect on Lightning Fury, knocks enemy back, and deals a lot more damage when combined with pierce. Are you a screen damage beliver? Well, even you say to me knockback is useless on Java, someone will disagree with you. Knockback works on Lightning Fury. Cleglaw Gloves or 2/20 Knockback gloves are the best choice for Java. Even if you say "That is wrong", again I will disagree with your comments. Both Javazon and Bowzon relies on Piercing and Knockback - reason: Doing a lot more damage. The math is done on Javazon.

Hello Mr LlamaSC. Im building a Javazone since i saw your video: lets play Amazone. I have to say im pretty happy with my Amazone so far altough im struggling actually in hell. Im lvl 84 and i dont manage to drop good stuff for her. I droped a lot for paladin necro barbarian druid. Well everything but Amazone. I dont understand when you say Valkyrie can solo hell. She is very tough but has not very good damage. Maybe because my stuff suxx specially my javelin. At least she helped me a lot to kill the ancient. The worst thing about Valkyrie is her ia which is terrible. I also strugle a lot with Lightning enchanted monsters. And there are a lot of them. I think im about to play a sorceress because i definitely need something to farm Mephisto faster. Javazone can be really satisfying when i wipe mass monsters out but can also be very frustrating against light enchanted. I see you soon on your video: lets play sorceress:p. Use poison javelin and your merc to deal with light immunes. You can also get a necro wand with lower resist skill from a vendor to remove immunity from monsters, although it is not strong enough to remove it from all monsters. I usually have this wand on weapon swap and if I cast it and see the immunity is not removed then I use poison jav to kill the monsters. just run a few circles while they die to the poison.

@@boquetsamuel7039 My pleasure, I was banging my head on the Council and just started avoiding them until I discovered poison jav is actually good enough to kill them (at +9 to skills it's actually a decent kill speed, at +6 it took a bit longer but still ok enough to have me stop avoiding them).

where to take this gloves ?!?!?!?!??!?!?!
I know this video is old, but with D2R coming out in a couple weeks and how important Cow runs will be (since there is no Cow King kill penalty in D2R), I want to point out that this build doesn't have enough mana leech, I mean at all. You want your Cow runner to be completely mana self-sufficient. You only need enough fury damage to tip those cows over once you have pierce, and don't need to sacrifice mana leech or mana after kills for + skills. Vampire Gaze is an old school answer to that with dual leech damage reduction etc. Sure you could use her on Baal, but with no teleport (enigma), there are other more efficient Baal runners (hdin). My main point is that if you are going to be a Javazon, if you are constantly eating mana pots or running low on mana, your build needs adjusting. Good video for the basics though.

if you get a 3 socket cuirass or mage plate, with that runeword peace you wil not need any other armor in all nightmare dificulty
I've been asking every damn Diablo 2 UA-cam channel.. I used to play a lot like ... more than 10 years ago. I want to play again but is there still a good player base? like Baal runs, PK, speed running and leveling etc?
online community is okay but not what it used to be. I prefer singleplayer but if you do play online you'll still be able to find some peeps!
I started again about a month ago after a 10 yr leave. ive already made tons of friends, bots run all the time so when their not on I can still lvl characters following them and ive been having fun again with d2. I was playing path of exile, love that game, but d2 has a certain nostalgic charm for me and I like how theirs old school chat rooms still, like when the internet first started and chat rooms were the thing. just something about making a room and ppl joining to help kill stuff or haggle and trade. all the ppl ive met playing so far seem really helpful and cool. you should play it again, heck might even run into me sometime lol gl

I know back in 109d pierce would stack dunno if that's true today but we used to make burrito zons that would Pierce guided arrow like 3-4 times
Because even though the belt says "piercing attack", it only gives 33% chance for an attack to pierce. So to get 100% chance to pierce or close to that, you put a point into the pierce skill.
Yes, Valk can solo the entire game on HC 8ppl and with 100% clearing locations. MadMax IIRC did this with only cracked/low quality equipment. Took some time, but maxed out Valk with a good roll beats Fana Ancients. Or was it Might?
Also, eth Titans < Titans. One stack clears cow level alright, but then you have to repair.
2x stacks of eth titans is the real way to do it! :D
My jav zon has same lvl and dmg on charge strike (no griffons) but it still takes like 20 hits to kill baal and you just 3 tapped him lol. Not sure what the problem eith my zon is lol

Considering how bad your health is at a whopping 331 points in vitality... there's a reason we go max block on Javazons...

If your goal is to kill ALL monsters, it doesn't work but it's able to clear a game.
Your merc has an infinity weapon to break immunity.

Sure! I would honestly say watch one of my hell amazon speedruns for an idea. Start out poison, move into charged strike, then you can move into lightning fury when you hit 30 and go from there! Gear isn't too important but things like: stealth, peace, rhyme are great

going on hardcore, my only struggle was switchin from a malice 2hander into a findin some good javs.
Dude I have a question. Why charged strike instead of power strike? Power strike has more damage.
1) Power strike is dependent on ar. Basically, if you miss, no lightning damage is done. Charged strike on the other hand releases charged bolts whether you hit or not.
2) There is no monster that you cannot use charged strike on instead of power strike. For act bosses and big monsters(urdars etc), the different is exponential because ALL the charge bolts hit the monster!

Can you survive in hell relying only on lightning damage, then? How do you fare vs enemies immune to that type of damage?
