Man bro you are a life saver. I had to recently jump start my car and the radio didn’t come back on. So I was riding around with no tunes for days. Best Buy installed it originally so I was gonna take it back to them but they were gonna charge me 65 to test it out and whatever to fix the problem. Well I said all that to say this. I didn’t know it had a reset button at the bottom and I hit the reset button and it started right up. I definitely appreciate it. Saved me some money for sure.
Thanks for the update. Your install video was one of the ones that led me to buying one of these. I got the Elite 9" one BE9ACP. Install was easy except for the adapter cable for my 2009 Ram 1500 had issues. It's not a truck I drive every day so I've had some issues with my Android phone staying paired and a couple display issues that require cycling the key. I've yet to have to push the reset button. I've also had it lose some settings, such as having the annoying system sound come back on. I've got it connected to an aftermarket tailgate handle camera and it works fine. The camera quality isn't the greatest but that's the camera's fault. I'll be installing a front camera as well. I really like that it can handle front and rear and also lets you turn on the cameras any time you want as well as automatically doing it when reversing. Android auto works just fine on it as well as bluetooth streaming from my phone. There is quite a bit of glare on the screen during the day. At night it's great. I wish they'd offer the three year warranty to self installers. If it gets past the first year, it's not an install issue anyway.
@@Veevslav1 sounds like you have it wired wrong. When you start your vehicle, it will turn off the radio and other things to provide more power to starting. In the radio settings, there is one to keep it on during that time. I don't have access to my truck at the moment to look at it to describe it better. But it sounds like the keep alive power you need is not connected to a constant 12v but instead is connected to the ignition power, which will get interrupted when starting.
You might check the Reverse sensor input to the Boss. IF the radio sees 12VDC on that line (even just shifting back and forth thru Reverse while sitting). When the radio sees 12VDC on that line it tells the radio to MUTE (almost completely) the radio audio while in reverse. A really dumb thing to do in the first place if you ask me! But it sounds to me like that input to the radio might be the source of your issue and you will REALLY hate it when you connect the rear camera!! So here's a solution that will eliminate any possible problem from that reverse line and solve the audio drop issue too when you install a camera! You can disable the audio level drop while reversing by NOT connecting the reverse sensor wire. This will enable you to watch the rear of your vehicle while still enjoying the radio (I tested this on my bench setup before install!). Boss tech said it wasn't possible, but they were wrong!! I also installed a simple switch I will mount somewhere on/under the dash that will supply 12VDC to that reverse sensor wire in the radio harness so I can switch on the Parking Assist guides lines. Radio audio will also mute (almost anyway) while that switch is on. Mine is going into an RV, so watching that rear camera was a deal killer for me. Problem solved!! And it's simple!
Whoa! Glad I read this! I just installed mine but have yet to hook up the camera. Just prewired it and made a simple toggle switch to the reverse wire using the front camera 12VDC. I also am using it on an RV so good to know it can be used without the reverse being hooked up at all times. Also glad I will have the guide lines when I need them now as well. What a happy accident haha.
It's not really a dumb thing, they should give you the option to disable though. It comes in handy if your car has backup sensors like my F-350, I can't hear the sensor alarm when I back up to docks with my radio going.
Had this almost a year. Apple CarPlay fails even if I change the charging cable. USB doesn’t really play mp4 videos. I bought this strictly for apple CarPlay but it fails more often than not. I wouldn’t recommend this.
Great video !, I just got the similar model BE10ACP. Overall it's fine, I find that it has some trouble in the extreme cold here in Canada until the truck warms up after a while. I have had to hot the reset button as well. I also installed the back up camera and new door speakers. The internal amplifier shows 80 watts RMS per channel but it's probably more like 30 watts per channel. The door speakers probably need a lot more amplifier to get the full sound out of them. On the Boss head unit receiver I have noticed it jump off and back on to Android Auto a few times while driving on very bumpy roads but it eventually corrects itself. Those are the only drawbacks so far.
@@arturorubio7224 The only real difference that I can see is my BE10ACP has front and rear camera options where the BCPA10 only has rear camera options. I wasn’t able to find any other differences. Hopefully that helps.
The biggest problem I have had is it just doesn't sound great. I even put an Audio Control DSP on it. I knew that a Boss is not the best out there, but I thought it would be ok. It's not. I'm going to get something better. I have not had any other issues with mine other than just not a real clean signal to my DSP and poor SQ.
@@BIasterXD I'm running 2 sets of Crossfire Audio components and 1 pair 6.5 coaxl up front and a pair of Crossfire 6x9's and a pair of 5.25 in the rear with 2 Crossfire 10's powered by Audio Apex CAB-M165 5 channel amp.
@@speedwayaudio3 did you try messing with the eq? The head unit shouldn't have any effect on the sound quality besides the equalizer settings which can be changed. You mentioned a dsp... did you actually set proper crossovers and eq for that? Sorry to break it to you, but if you're system is tuned properly, then the problem is your speakers/amp. All the head unit does is send the audio signal to your speakers, or to the amp first and then the speakers. So chances are you've either got bad speakers, a bad amp, or both. Personally i've never heard of audio apex or crossfire. Maybe you ought to look at some other brands
i was having the same issues you were talking about i had to keep turning my car on and off still didn’t turn on i just found out about the rest button and it shuts off mid way of me driving like a black screen and i didn’t know how to rest without turning my bat on and off
Hello, I've had my Bossbe10acp installed in my car for 3 years and now all of a sudden the screen stays on the loading screen. The backup camera works sometimes. Other times the unit is just black. I've reset the unit and that won't fix the problem. What could it be?
I need to run this in a convertible, the screen connection (ability to move the screen up/down looks perfect for my car ( 1991 Mercedes 300SL taking out old Becker) but I am really concerned about being able to see the screen in bright sunlight. Does it have good enough brightness and contrast to work in that context? Interested in any feedback before I buy. Also looking at Ototo and Joying 8" floating screens but Boss has the most flexible connection to din
It is a little reflective in my pick up at times so with your top down in the sun it maybe hard to see. But it does get very bright. I'd say you would be good most of the time unless you are in the sun with the top down alot.
Great info. I'm looking for a Single Din slide out or one like this that I hook my S22 Ultra too & watch my movies while out hunting on my Ranch. The Pyle 7" Slide Out has some great reviews but I'd like a 9 or 10" Most I see won't support Andriod 12

Well I don't think people steal vehicle radios like they used to.they been mass produced in all shapes and sizes when it comes to touch screens but if you're worried just disconnect it and hide it
Mine did the SAME thing. 20 minutes of perfection and speakers just cut off and I have been searching for days on what the problem is cause I know I did the wiring right. I didn’t know about that reset
You can go into display settings adjust the brightness level (and even the gamma) for day (headlights off) and night (headlights on). It remembers the setting when you find what you like. It's pretty slick. I wasn't expecting that since I saw some people complaining about it being too bright at night. Maybe they don't have the illumination wire hooked up? Or maybe their settings are not right?
How did you bypass the backup camera cause mine came with one and I don’t want to put it on but it has to be hooked up before you can use the the screen
@@dillonmorgan197 I had the same problem, you need to connect it to the parking brake wire, it's not that hard to do. Just splice into the wire and either solder it or tape it off with electrical tape. As mentioned by "the real Austin Brown" the head unit has two (2) USB cables that are attached to it. One cable is for Android Auto/Apple Car Play and the other one is for charging. Try resetting your unit like is showed here in the video, if that doesn't work you will need to to the proper connection to the parking brake wire. My Android Auto would not work until I connected it to the Parking Brake wire. Cheers!
On my 2009 Ram I connected a wire to ground and one to the park brake signal wire. When I need to do something that requires the truck to be in park, I connect the two with a Wago quick connect. This will allow my passenger to do things that you're only supposed to do in park.
i am having the same problem just last week i had it installed the first day it played sound just fine the very next mourning i got in the car no sound i did the hard reset a few times still nothing so i tried removing the display and re-plugging it the sound came back on but every time i get back in the car no matter how short or long there is no sound as of yesterday it has completely stopped playing sound no matter what i do smh
Could be a wiring problem, pull the deck and check the work, other then that it does have a warranty. But they will ask you to check wiring before starting a claim.
Are you still currently having any of the time issues or has this been fixed by a update? I had to update my old KENWOOD I was curious I’m looking into buying one of these want the alpine but can’t bring myself to spend 1000 on one I could do a iPad dash at that point.

What’s the difference in both models?
Does it cold boot everytime the vehicle is restarted? I have a Ford Transit and it restarts radio including warranty with every start.
@@Veevslav1 mine doesn't do that. I think that one wire is constant power. If I don't drive my truck for a while it's draining the battery.
@@nicksgarage2 It is odd. The radio stays on when I turn off the car and it only gets a reboot when I turn over the ignition.

It's acutally about 15-18W RMS according to people that have tested, but thats normal for cheap head units even name brand.

It could be where you put your microphone. Or you have it too loud. If the microphone is close to a speaker try moving it

Mine keeps restarting after a 1 minute, I can’t even use it. Reset button doesn’t work and Factory Reset doesn’t do anything.

I have the same one but my Apple CarPlay stopped working. I took it apart and there is no damage to any of the wires or system. I’m bummed :(

How did you wire your parking brake wire? I grounded to unit ground and my car play and aa are grayed out and can't touch them

I have the 9 inch never and isssue but that 10 went bad on my friend pretty fast but whatever is cheap

I believe if you download movies/videos to USB you can plug it in and watch them. As far as driving i think you need to do the parking brake mod.
