Ghanaian kente is actually precious with a touch of of gold and aside it’s recognised worldwide 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭 i love their culture it’s so expensive.

For Nigeria that's not the only traditional attire. All tribes in Nigeria have their different traditional attires
2:54 The head dresses are different. Similar but different. Yorubas have the Gele.Edo use beads.Igbo women used head ties like gele but tie it differently.Naija represent.🇳🇬🇳🇬
You are IGBO yet you don't know that head tie for women is called ICHAFU.
Terrible.
@ochioguharrison8843 Hey i'm honest for those that cross dress maybe l o l they would know. Enyi mmeche onu lol and thank you.
For nigeria, the one shown in the video is Edo which is called Okuku. I would say theirs is the most elaborate which sets theirs apart.
I'm from Ethiopia 🇪🇹. All African Traditional clothes are so beautiful 😍.
As an African I love all cultural dresses .My Ethiopian beauty , tradition and culture is number one for me. Love you guys for reacting our beloved land Africa.
Nigeria has many ethnic groups and each group have their own peculiar costume designers. The Igbos, the Yorubas, the Hausas, The Edos, the Efik , the Tiv, the Idomas, the Fulani all have unique costumes won during festive periods and celebration. I think you should do more research with the lead I have given. Thanks
You forgot Esan
I say it again your wife definitely has Ghanaian DNA.She resonates and beams with a lot of smiles anytime anything Ghana comes up😂😂😂😂
Ghana 🇬🇭
Nigeria have so many beautiful traditional wears
All of them are beautiful but Ghanaian 🇬🇭 kente for sure ❤️
Ghana traditional cloth is beautiful
There are varieties of 🇬🇭Kente patterns but for weddings we dress in Sika ( money/gold) Kente, meaning a touch of gold in the pattern irrespective of the choice of color theme. It represents royalty, prosperity, happiness.
Ghana🇬🇭🇬🇭
Ethiopian clothes were so special 🇪🇹
My favourites is , Ghana, Nigeria , South Africa and DRC!
Ghanaian Kente is very beautiful. I love this it.
I prefer Nigerian own
I prefer Ghana 🇬🇭❤️
🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
My beloved country 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭❤️🙏

I love the nigerian beads and the crown. They are beautiful and I think maybe they symbolise something about the manhood and womanhood? Come on my Nigerian Fam, help me out here.
The Nigerian attire is particular to the Edo people of nigeria, it was used by royals of the then benin kingdom....the attire is worn during traditional weddings, traditional meetings, etc..
Its for brides during traditional marriage ceremony (Benin people of Edo state Nigeria) and the Oba's (Benin monarchs) wives wear them when they always including the Oba as part of their daily apparel
So it's originally a Benin practice

Igbo people of Nigeria has multiple attires,we have Akwa ocha(a white handwoven cloth)mostly used by Anioma/onitcha people of Igboland. We also have akwete which is handwoven as well.We then have Isiagu, ukara cloth and aro-chukwu attire ❤
Kente is not only worn in Ghana, but it is also worn in Ivory Coast and Togo. I’m British Ghanaian by the way.
Same as Nigeria attire is also worn on Ghana,
Africa has the best Style!
Love from Eritrean 🇪🇷
Ghana used to be called Gold Coast. Hence those beautiful gold colour. Africa is just too beautiful I swear.
Senegal is barely included but we have some of the best traditional clothes and tailors on the continent. It's similar to Gambia.
Yeah same I thought Senegal will be here and not my country The Gambia because they are similar
I agree
I think because most the time those videos are “English made” French speaking countries are barely included. For example Ivory Coast traditional outfits are kinda similar to Ghana’s
Yes, Senegal should have been featured. But I dare say the researcher didn't do a thorough job. Some countries were just slap on fashion.
@@YourFavJoliz Yes I agree some countries are similar when it comes to patterns.
Nigeria tradition for me

You can never get a favorite traditional wear , I love everything . I want to try on everything even what was not show cased 😆
We wear different things for a reason . Each signifies or stands for something !
Well I have a favorite which is Nigeria
The Ghanaian kente is not only a gold color, when you visit the volta region of Ghana the colors are tan, beige, purple, white, and many more, which are not showcased a lot but if you want to stand out and be different that is what you go for. In Africa, every country has its own unique dress, there are no two countries that look the same in terms of style and swag.
Hey those weave kente in volta region are originally from ashanti if you don't know learn the history

I've always been in love with Xhosa attire, especially for weddings. I've never been to a Xhosa wedding... somebody please invite me🙈
I can tell you Opobo's and Efik's attire is one of the best traditional attire in Nigeria.
U are wrong edo is thé Best edo to thé world ❤
You guys have such a good vibe, I love your channel.
Eswatini culture is also one of South Africa's cultures. Some of those images are from SA
The madiba shirt was designed by a west African tailor... he’s a burkinabe base in Ivory Coast! ... so that style of dress has it roots from west Africa.
Incorrect, the Madiba Batik shirt is Indonesian and was designed by Desré Buirski in SA. Later, Sonwabile Ndamase was tasked with making Tata's shirts. Who is the West African designer?
Kofisam you’re daydreaming
For Nigeria....the attires differ to the tribes...and u know..we have over 200tribes
Ethnic groups, not ''tribes''.
It's every country. Even Kenya
@@african-history-fountain no difference
@@mrtnm121 huge differences...... Nigeria is not like every other african countries....... nigeria has both African and middle East culture.......that's why one tribe can't define nigeria the whole world knows this...... that's why we use ethnic and regions to differentiate in Nigeria because we don't vibe thesame....... north Africa culture is also in Nigeria....... nigeria is not only an African country......we are very very diverse
@@promisebethel2226 Every African country is diverse in it's own way. In kenya we have asian/indian, somali and Arabic culture and we have 43 tribes/ethnic groups all with different cultures and different traditional attires. In this video, they only showed two. Well, I can't talk for every african country but Nigeria is not as different as you want it to be.
Naija🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
I love you guys lately I love you more. Basically for me my Ethiopian tradition even though I like Ghanaian cloths. Peace ✌️
It is called the gele( Nigerian headwrap) and more. In Liberia, our pattern is the damasin ( damask) and country cotton clothe. Fante ( ankara)Ankara. Tiedyed prints. And the scarf of ( Kru) is the bonswae ( like the Nefertiti crown) but it is Headwear ( fabric) as crown. We use lots of Gold too..The variety is endless...ooo
GHANA 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
I'm northern Ndebele and I love our colours and culture but being very honest there was only one that gave me chills and that was Ghana. It was that woman's dance and the gold and bright colours.

You’re right it’s a group within the masons called the Shriners
I love the abada from Nigeria
9:34 when you said that, I remembered the shriners, (Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine )the Fez has an Arabic kofia influence.
Different tribe with different clothes styles in Nigeria
Love it all!
Ethiopian dress is my #1 choice
I love Africa❤❤❤❤. One love 💕 guys
Africa in her beauty 👌
I'm Somali and even though I like that he included us, I just wish he picked better videos to really show our traditional clothes (dirac and macawiis). But this is a good reaction overall 👍☺️
We have way more especially the females, we have the guntino and the sadex qayd. The men have the Somali thobe plus the white outfits.
Same with Nigerians
The headdress worn by the bride is actually worn by the Edo brides and the Oba's ( Benin monarchs) wives wear them too,
So it's originally the Edo people that owns the culture of wearing coral bead head gears and it has become the rave throughout the country (Nigeria)
Love them all
The head dress she had on is predominantly an Edo wear, other culture have similar head dress but its not as decorated. There is also the igele which is the most popular and versatile form of head dress, some dont even have head dresses just beads and cowries decorating their hair. Its varies
🇬🇭🇬🇭❤️❤️❤️
I love Africa my god 🇿🇦🇿🇦
Wonderful continent, beautiful people, beautiful culture ❤❤❤❤❤❤ God bless Africa.
"KANZU" is not Tanzanian, it's Ugandan. It's a traditional attire for the Buganda tribe in central Uganda.

There are
all looking beautiful
I'm from Nigeria and the only way to different the headtie is the different styles and colors.
That of the bride is usually unique
How have the reviews of African-themed videos influenced your perception of the continent so far?
As a Nigerian my favourite are the South African attire, it feel regal like. Those beads on the head are amazing.
As an Igbo tribe it is hard to find coral beads which was stopped by whye ppl due to coral reef......many hire the beads now or use fake beads....

Cameroon 🇨🇲 has the best attire among all of them!
This attires are just the few ones from Nigeria. We have lots of other traditional attires across the country.

The edo attire have variants in the riverine southern parts of Nigeria and western and eastern parts of Nigeria.
I love Mali print...Lard
Ghana 🇬🇭 Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Mandela shirt
I’m in this video hahaha
proudly Tanzanian here
Colors are usually vibrant in dark skin and looks extremely beautiful. That is why at the beginning of fashion, designers use to look for dark people to try clothes on and show it to people (which eventually became modeling)
.. that could also explain the psych and connection of African people with colorful clothes/fabrics which continued to the diaspora, if you go anywhere globally and see anyone in public wearing bright/bold colors like red on red and so on.. chances are that person is of African descent
They are all nice I would wish to have all of them much love from 🇺🇬🇺🇬

Very important question for you two - When are you coming to any country in Africa?
Stop procrastinating and book a trip now. You can book it for the future and pay monthly but at least you know when and prepare. I am Nigerian but suggest you go to Ghana first, then Nigeria and if possible Senegal, Gambia and South Africa, then Kenya and Uganda.....any really is good....just do it, just go.
Fez = That 70'S SHOW
3:56😂😂
As a Ugandan 🇺🇬🇺🇬 I have to admit I’d wear most of those traditional wears
They’re all beautiful
5:21😅😅
IGBO ATTIRES (because we have variety) is UNIQUE and untouchable!!! Nigerian attire is unmatched above all others, honestly!
There are different head dresses . The Edo , the ijaw, the Igbo, have different head dresses. But a lot of people borrow from other cultures. Igbos have their head dresses, but a lot of Igbos wear Edo and ijaw head dresses, because they love it. Igbos have got their fabrics called Akwete and akwaocha. Other ethnic groups have their fabrics too
No we don’t wear edo and ijaw head Dresses don’t lie we have been wearing beads in our heads for centuries anyone that wears the Edo attire is either for a party or is married to an edo person so don’t spread rumours now
Nah we Igbo do not wear edo/ijaw attire as they don’t have if u talk about red velvet that isn’t attire.Igbo have multiple attires like Akwa ocha,Isiagu, akwete, ukara aro-chukwu attire and more so u are wrong
In Nigeria, virtually every tribe now copy the Edo bride dressing
