Fantastic finishing - they look better like this than if you hadn't cut them short!! Also the French General Joyeux Noel in putty and red is stunning - I have a Layer cake I completely forgot about and am going to find it now so thank you Annie again - love from UK x
Great tutorial ….. I learned a tip when I was taught how to hand quilt …. That last thread in the back …. After you make your knot if you push your needle into the pillow and come up anywhere in the back then snip off the thread …. The thread then becomes held by the stuffing ….
Thank you for this step by step tutorial. It was a big help in deciding how to finish a couple of ornaments I stitched and was unsure just how to go about it.
A very useful tutorial - I am about to finish 2 Prairie Schooler Santa ornaments and will use your border ideas. With the hanging loop, twine or ribbon, I machine stitch this onto the backing piece first before assembling the pillow. A bow can then be added once pillow is turned out, stuffed, and gap stitched up.
Thanks for a great lesson. Your presentation is easy to understand and a great enabler for making a small pillow finish. Using fabric strips to frame the finished cross stitch piece first, then adding the backing fabric will also allow for a different coordinating fabric to be used if short on backing fabric. Got to go now to make a pillow out of a finished piece I stored in my orphan box.
Sooo excited for your 10,000 subscribers! Been a joy to follow you and love love your style and show! Thank you Annie! Enjoy your success! Happy times indeed!! ❤️👍🏻😘😘
@@theproperstitcher Hi Annie, I have a question you may know the answer to. What make a sampler a sampler? I am working on a pattern that the designer called a sampler it has a couple of motifs but other than that does not have the alphabet or numbers. For us that are not knowledgeable can you give some insight. Thanks!
Thank you so much Anne for such a awesome tutorial. I just bought a new home in Colorado ab=and i am putting things at side to work on until the move from TX is done and i chosen my Santas. Congratulations achieving you ten thousand subscriber. You deserver much more.
Beautiful! I love twine bows...but lately I've had a hard time holding all of the pieces together... thanks for the sewing tip... why didn't I think of that! LOL great tutorial!
Thanks for the easily to understand and follow directions/lesson on finishing. I have several projects that needed to be FFO'd and one was too close to the fabric edge so it has been put off for too long. You have given me the inspiration (push) to finally finish it so I can enjoy looking at it. Thanks again.
Great tutorial Annie… I have always finished my pieces prim style, by hand… lap quilting by hand.. no machine… forced me to use my creative hands… And the Davos fabric is a pain… when it starts to Frey… usually backed mine with wool.. and button home stitch .. take care Annie Bless you sweet gal…
Thank you so much. I agree about the Davos. If I had known what trouble it was I would not have ordered so much of it. I suppose we live and learn. xxoox
@@theproperstitcher Indeed… as in Latin Dum spiro spero….while I breathe I hope 🙏♥️🤗 If you ever want to sell the Davos give me a shout, I have a lot of prims from Cedar Hill designs I’ve stitched , that call for Davos..:-) I have a few more to catch up on lol with all my other distractions. Hood Grey is doing better.. & Tristan ( my oldest sons middle name, Joel bring his first ) I hope he will do well going forward whilst driving 🚙😎 Not like it was when I got my license, there were 5 of us, boys got cars 🚗 first :-) Bless you Annie…
Great tutorial Annie! I really like the fabric "border" on the front of the pillow, I think it adds character to the stitched piece; A happy accident! Your directions were precise and easy to follow.
So funny... I was looking for this exact tutorial to finish a little pillow and I came here and what do you know , you are doing exactly that! Thank you for posting this!
I never would have thought of adding fabric around the edge before turning into a pillow. I am planning some small ornaments for an exchange and I think this method will be a great addition! Thank you for a great tutorial!
Thank you Annie! I love your attitude that there is always a way to your project work!!! Great tutorial. Love the finish with the jute and charm ◡̈. Looking forward to giving it a try!
Excellent presentation! Appreciate how you describe how & why each step. I’m going to challenge myself & complete a pillow tomorrow. Tks Annie for sharing this lesson with us!
Hi Annie, Terri Whisler here, awesome tutorial, I love the pillows. I have several of the Prairie Schooler Santa’s, and I think this will be my finish. One question…where did you get your charms? Thanks for sharing your ideas with us!
Thank you so much Annie. You did an awesome job explaining everything step by step for us. I love how they turned out in fact I just love the little border on them.
My Art teacher said to stop trying to "fix" it because you are not making it better, you are just making it different. I have used that philosophy for all my art/crafts and finishing. I don't always love it but we are always our worst critics
Thanks for the finishing tutorial - always the hardest step for me. I am not far south of you in Hixson TN, outside of Chattanooga. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. 1,2,3,5

Could you use Eileens Tacky Glue instead of stitching the loops of the bow together? Great save! ♥️
Thank you!! I suppose you could. I have not tried that.
