  • I'll show you how to replace broken automotive connectors and not have to resort to electric tape and plastic tie wraps (zip-ties) to hold them together. Work is performed on a 01 Dodge Dakota.

Great video Martin! Being tired of my '97 VW tail lights flickering, or intermittently switching off I replaced all taillights connectors with aviation grade, ,gold plated pin sealed circular connectors. Cut the original wires and crimped them to the new connectors; now my VW is "flying"...

Hi Martin . Came across your channel a few weeks ago. My wife has her old 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 v8. I felt like she was on her way out . On to looking at the lifters and rockers when I do the valve covers . Also doing the exhaust manifold gaskets too. Eventually I will be doing the heads and timing . Can’t see my self to bringing it to rest now that I’ve come across all your videos . I have somewhat become addicted . I can now do one project on it and once I get done with one I always find another one on it . I guess thats the Jeep for you. Thanks for your help.

I am sure that the rockers are still in good condition. Just replace the lifters (lash adjusters) and that should do it. Jeeps can be very addictive.

Oh btw...some of the clips, like the fuel pump connector and a few others, there are tabs in the back of the connector....and this next one applies to all vehicles, a lot of your metal electric tabs (the ones that make contact inside the connector) will have a metal pop tab type thing...press it down and it comes out but be extremely careful because they bend and if they bend too far or too many times they will break right off

I cut off my connectors on my truck...since I have aftermarket headlights, I wired everything direct. My head light assemblies split the headlights back into 2 bulbs in the front instead of 1...I like having seperate high beams... But in doing that it allowed me to cut all the connectors off solder the connections and shrink wrap them... And then I put loom over everything and taped it

    • @martinbuilt

You probably should have titled your video how to repin electrical connectors. This doesnt show how to remove or replace the connector. More specifically how to remove them. Im looking for a video on how to remove a electrical connector from my gaspump. And all i can find is fuckin useless bullshit like this titled wrong. No one shows how to remove this shit. Its the only thing keeping ny gas tank in the air. Guess ill bust out the wire cutters
