No algorithm can replicate human intelligance, it is far too complex for any algorithm or combination of algorithms. Don't let Terminator fool you! SE on the other hand will always be in huge demand. Look at the rise in blockchain, IoT/embedded systems, game dev, web, Android app dev, etc. Huge demands for all of these and theres not enough programmers to fill the gaps. Meanwhile for ML it takes years of school to get a job which you dont actually solve any problems, you research for years if a solution is viable only to discover that when it gets implemented, theres tons of problems and require you back to the drawing board. With SE, you solve problems on the spot and you will know if a solution works before starting a project, ie which language/combination of languages to pick for the project, etc. Not the same can be said about DS. Plus SE can earn $$ just as much aa DS, potentially even more in the long run
