Anthony I do the same thing all the time. I watch farmers...i don't own a farm, and people whittling logs to make a cabin that's the size of a closet..I don't want a log cabin. Though you don't own a tractor I'm grateful you watched my video and commented. Stay safe and keep watching please.

Thanks for posting this. My 3039 is not quite due for an oil change yet, but I’m glad I got a preview. I think the dual oil drains would have stumped me for a minute. I first came across dual drains on my 2019 SkiDoo 900 renegade, one for the dry sump and one for the wet sump. Like you I’m a big fan of cardboard and have recently discovered Pig Mats (oil absorbent mats). Using these has increased the life of my cardboard. Having understood your comment about being careful with wetting the motor I wanted to share a cleaning tip I’ve been using for years. I clean my tractor using compressed air after every use and after 5 years of dusty mowing conditions with my X710, I’ve yet to use water ever. One more thing, I too lost over 60 lbs. years ago and found out the hard way that you have to give your back muscles a chance to adjust to their new load. I was plagued with numerous sore backs until my doctor informed me about this. Hope this helps. Keep the great videos coming, I enjoy every one.

Jay you're absolutely correct regarding air. Zero turn mower manuals suggest using compressed air after every mowing not water. Also agree with your back comment. I started exercising and stopped losing weight go figure, back is better but still sensitive. I don't know if i'm ready to give up Simple Green yet...and water. Keep sharing info with our group, all of appreciate it. Thank you!

Maruader, I climbed under my 2019 3039R this evening and guess what? There's only one drain on the left side of the crankcase even though there's a space for the driveshaft to pass under the oil pan. There's no extended pan-half on the right side???? I have to admit there's a few changes between our tractors since I don't need a clothespin in order to back up with the PTO engaged. Can you send me an e-mail address that I can send you pictures? I'm not an experienced UA-cam user nor do I know how to post videos. I'd like to send you picts. of what's going on in the north woods of Wisconsin in terms of UTV riding etc. You need to consider loading your UTV on a trailer and heading up here for some awesome riding. Thanks for the video. My 3046R cab tractor was delivered Monday and I am just starting to learn how to use it. At some point, I will view this video again before I perform my own oil change. By the way, I especially appreciated your videos on adding rear wheel spacers and swapping mid-mount mower for front mount snow blower. I am in the foothills of Colorado and we are having a major snowstorm today.

I am amazed how small that filter is, both the facory installed one as well as the replacement. lol, yes that cardboard is a valuable commodity, we have to save all of our cardboard! Great video's! Really appreciate all your insight and expertise. We're not to covet but I love your equipment and the ability to have the things you do. I am on 33 acres of ground in KS but love your garage and set up and camera's and drones and abiulity to pay for and own such nice things. Sadly educators don't earn as much. I have a John Deere 4300=21 years old and am thinking of buying a new one. So thanks for the tours and the insight! God Bless you as well and hope your back is doing well. We are similar in that realm including weight! God Bless! Thanks!

      R. Lerner God bless our educators as they sculpt the minds of the future leaders of our world. Any fool can by a nice tractor, but to teach is a gift...one I’m envious of and covet. Sometimes I criticize my management team, stop and realize their errors are my failures in leadership and teaching. You made my day, my gratification in posting videos is helping others and sharing my equipment beyond my neighborhood. I wish you the best with any tractor you enjoy...🙂

I was told by the John deere mechanics not to change engine oil early due to the break in lube needs to stay in to break in the engine properly . Just what I heard.

Nick i address that in the beginning of the video...as after owning the tractor over 2 years i was not going to wait until it reached 200hrs. Dealer also thought oil should be changed once a year. You are correct that is what JD states. I will be changing the transmission fluid soon. Keep commenting, and sharing your info with me. Thank you for watching.

Deere recommends 200 hours OR annually on the oil change. The original oil filter comes with the engine when Deere receives it from Yanmar. For some reason they mask it off when they paint the engine in Augusta, GA (where the tractors are built.) The replacement filter is a Deere filter which is used on many of their tractors. The hydraulic pump is just that, the hydraulic pump. It shares oil with the transaxle, but it does not drive it. It is actually two pumps, one for steering and one for implements (loader, rock shaft lift, grapple, etc,....) Drive shaft is for front axle. Transaxle driveshaft is above this one.

Hi Jeffrey excellent information, thank you for commenting and sharing. As stated in my video i decided to change the oil before 200hrs, I've had the tractor for over 2 years. I discussed this with the dealer, they also recommended changing the oil every year...on previous tractors that's what I've done. I've had Yanmar engines for over 3o years they are excellent. Please comment on my tractor videos you know your stuff!

I also use simple green . But keep in mind that Simple Green is a strong enough degreaser that can break down any protection on the paint. So just add some wax afterwards.

    • @maraudermitchelli

I've never had that problem with my tractor...that green paint is amazing. But there ferris ZT does not hold wax...simple green maybe the problem. Thank you good tip.

I hope the intro wasn't depressing. I ate less and did more...simple. Dining out i try not to eat my entire meal...in the state we get so much food. I still eat all the same fun foods, pizza, pasta and chicken wings...but not as much or as frequently. I started using my elliptical and my weight loss stopped but i feel great! I'm sure my tractor is puny compared to yours. I hope you and your family are healthy thank you so much for watching and commenting.

I am having the same problem with the hydraulics controlled by the switch on the joy stick. It stopped working a year ago. Did you ever figure out what the problem is? I’ve been lucky to have an additional set of rear hydraulics to make up for that issue.

Jeff, there are videos showing how to remove the loader, i've never done one. You want to remove it on flat level ground...concrete or asphalt is preferred...i've always removed mine on uneven mud. I would remove the loader prior to taking off the side engine panels.
