Is perception of beauty a side effect of cognitive ability? Why does beauty exist in the first place?

Well, this went into female empowerment politics too fast for my taste. The perfect moment for me would be right after the talk ends.

When exactly did we "evolve?" I mean when did a fish start to walk, for example? I mean, when did fur become a thing? I mean which came first the chicken or the egg? When a species is finished, how did changes occur? Did evolution stop? I mean does a spider ever turn into anything but another spider? Does a penguin ever turn into anything but another penguin? Do you see why I ask? Someone please explain evolution by natural selection to me, please! I have read Darwin's book but all he talked about was pigeons. Did pigeons turn into anything? Each species seems to be an end of changes and mutations. Yes I would admit micro evolution, but I just don't see any evidence for macro evolution. Can we not accept there is no answer to my questions or must we impale the Christ's body to prove he exists? Where did God come from? Will I ever get laid?

Most of your questions are answered in literally every single popular science book on Evolutionary theory...and I will have to call bullsh** on you reading Darwin's On the Origin of Species...to claim he only writes about pigeons 🙄
He has one example after another concerning evolution by natural selection and only in the chapter about artificial selection writes about pigeons.
I'm also always surprised nobody mentions his other books... especially his books on Orchids and Barnacles...which are phenomenal and complete his theories outlined on the Origin of Species.
Most of your questions are explained in detail (for example) in these easy to read & understand science communication books=
      - "The Greatest Show on Earth" by Richard Dawkins.
      - "The Diversity of Life" by Edward O. Wilson.
      - "Why Evolution is True" by Jerry A. Coyne
      - "Improbable Destinies" by Jonathan B. Losos
      - "Darwinism and it's Discontents" by Michael Ruse
      - "This is Biology" by Ernst Mayr.
      - "Your Inner Fish" by Neil Shubin.
There's also tons of material online - free books, research papers, Articles, Forums like Sandwalk ( full of great info by Laurence Moran ) and wikipedia.
