I watched this an hour ago. I went downstairs and made it in my instant pot. It smells sooooo good! I tasted it, and yes, thank you for this. Now I can go to sleep and not worry about what is for dinner tomorrow...it's 3:20am here.
TosTinMan is one of the best channels on UA-cam. Simple, unpretentious meals. Mr. TinMan and Annie are magic. They make me laugh and smile. They make my day easier.
My husband definitely enjoys your channel. Your the reason he uses the croc a lot. He's making some good tasting food and we're looking forward to seeing you continue to do your thing, let's get to Croc'n!
With beef stew meat (shoulder or chuck) you should've put more water in it because when the rice absorbs all the water it then turns on the beef and absorbs what little moisture it has because it's lean/lacking fat.
You might be amazed to hear the design of the stock cube packaging means you're to tear up the stock cube *inside the wrapper*. It crumbles beautifully and then you open the foil and sprinkle it it. This means you never end up with any lumps! Thanks for the recipe, I'll try it.
I'm making this for dinner tonight. I tweaked mine- added finely chopped celery, onions & mushrooms plus 1/4 cup soy sauce. Dying to see how it turns out!

I really love your videos mate! keep up with the good work. I'm considering buying myself a slow cooker after seeing all the great stuff you cook each time!
As a crockpot user, I love this! I made a stew with ground beef, kind of like you did here, and it was kind of meh. This time I'm searing the meat before it goes in. We'll see in 4 hours how it turned out. I also added cabbage, carrot and onions that had sweated in the frying pan together with the seared meat. Instead of rice I used soaked green lentils. Three cups of dry pasta and enough water to cover everything. Also, hispanic section? :D Knorr is a Swedish brand, and I use them myself all the time (I'm a Swede). Mostly the chicken cubes, they go with everything
Nice easy basic recipe that can be seasoned many different ways. When you used beef did you cook it on high or low? I think low would make the meat tender.
I know you made this three years ago and I hope all is well! I just came across this video and I am going to try to make this in my instant pot later on today. I will let you know how it goes :-) I also subscribed to your channel

I've been looking for a recipe like this for a while. Thanks. I have two questions. Wouldn't two cups of rice give you a major ton of rice? Do you think that if I cut it to one cup of rice, it would work better with the pound of ground beef? How much water? Finally, do you have a recipe for this using the Instant Pot?
Sure you could use 1 cup of rice and 1 cup of water and it should work okay. Here's a similar recipe I did in the Instant Pot. ua-cam.com/video/hj90afkXeN4/v-deo.html
I am going to make this tonight, so I have watched the video again and again, is your measuring cup really "one cup" or is it just a plastic cup ? it looks really small, unless you are related to Andre the Giant. Well I will know in a few hours.
@@TosTinManEasyCooking I used a cup measure myself, I just thought that yours looked really small. My house smells fantastic, but it will be late night dinner.
Substitute the water with low sodium beef broth and use 7 spices mix (Japanese) after it’s done. Add a small amount of coconut oil to your serving if your diet requires healthy fats
That's a good question. I haven't tried it but I'm wondering if it might be better to add the soup at the end after the rice is cooked? I guess I need to experiment with that.
i did this on Friday evening turned out not too badly.i used Basmati rice and i may have cooked the mix a bit too long 3hrs maybe should have added a bit more water? will do it with jasmine rice next time.Cheers
Great recipe. I am going to try this because I have all the ingredients. Oh brother, I love Anny please take good care of her. I love that little fur ball. Please give her a kiss in my behalf. Love you and your delicious recipes.

I like this one, super easy and you can play with the flavor with different seasonings. Thanks Jim.
Yeah, you could flavor it any way you like.

I knew you were legit when you used the caldo de res bouillon cube
i know right.....muy delicioso.....lol

@@jesperdahl1486 the flavor is more rich in the caldo de res
I'd eat it since it's Annie approved!!
Thanks Larry!

Great old school recipe. Thank you.
I bet that would be real good with some Cajun or Creole seasoning mix :)
Some Worcestershire sauce would be good too.
Basically dirty rice
This looks awesome and super easy. Need to try this soon!
looks good i was tempted to try this out and maybe brown the meat but the finished product looked good! thanks

Thanks! Rice actually turns out pretty good in the slow cooker.
Oh leftovers fried up or plunked in a burrito 😍👍

Is it save for veggies to touch the meat question
I'm trying the recipe right now. I'll know if i did it right in 3 hours!
Can you cook on low for 6?
That looks delicious! Time to crank up the crock.
Thanks!
Nice easy basic recipe that can be seasoned many different ways. When you used beef did you cook it on high or low? I think low would make the meat tender.
I think I cooked it on high. Low would probably be better.
I wasn't so sure about the ground beef in the slow cooker, but it looked really good. I may have to try that some day. =)
Thanks! It turned out pretty good!
Very easy thanks 😎
I know you made this three years ago and I hope all is well!

Can I use regular white rice?
Do beef and rice cook at same time and temperature?
That looks good- I wonder how beef with a higher fat content would affect the recipe...
It would probably be okay, just a little bit greasier.
Looks so yummy😋❣️Love seeing Annie get so excited about her bites😄. God bless y’all🙏😇
Thank you!
is this a healthy recipe for weight loss?

I'm trying this tonight. It's awesome that you don't have to cook the ground beef first..so I'm waiting to see what happens lol
I tried this but my rice came out hard. Happens every time I try to do rice in the crock pot
Is this doable with pasta?
Do the vegetables have to be frozen or can I use canned? Thank you.
Purple Butterfly You can use canned.
TosTinMan EasyCooking yay! Thank you so much for your prompt reply! Trying your recipe tonight! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wonder how this would go with shredded hash browns instead and a little ground sausage mixed in?
Thank you for helping a Lazy man like me!!! I won’t be hungry👍
No problem 👍
Looks like some good eating there. Kind of like rice dressing with mixed vegetables.
How about ground turkey? Looks good! Thanks
Ground turkey should work.
Love it. I'll just substitute turkey ground.👍
Annie gets fed better than most humans!
She does eat well! :)
Thank you good to know you don’t have to brown beef 1st🥰🙏💚💛oregon
I'm making it now!
Hi, I have all the ingredients for this recipie but my meat is frozen. Can I put it in anway
I think it would work. The cooking time would probably be a little longer though.
@@TosTinManEasyCooking Thank you, more videos like this please
Love the recipe, just what a bachelor like me needs. BTW...what's that music you were playing? I loved it even more!!!
Thank you! The music is called Tonto.
I'm surprised at the 1:1 ratio of rice and water. Sure looks good.
There's a lot of moisture in the slow cooker so I think that's why you don't need as much water.
1:1 is the only way rice should be cooked, slow cooker or not.
Period.
unless you like mush.
Michael Key It's 1:1 in an instant pot and it turns out perfect.
Is 1:1 ok if using brown rice?

When you made it with brown rice, did you add any more water?
Thanks! No, I used the same amount.
I cooked pork chops, rice, and cream of mushroom soup a few times and it was good.
Sounds good!
Could you do ground turkey instead of beef?
That should work.
It turns out great in a solar cooker for about 3 or so hours.
Gonna try this tomorrow, gonna start it at 1130 since I go home for lunch, gonna do it on low,I get out at 4
Can you cook ground turkey in a crock pot?
I think it should work fine.

Fat from meat is healthy. Healthier than we were initially told.
I bet this would be real good with a little bit of sesame oil oyster sauce and soy sauce. :-)
Good idea..I think I'll add the soy sauce and sesame oil and try it .ty
