First, Zack asked for one date to Aerith.
Then Zack asked for one date to Aqua.
Now Zack just asked for one date to Serah!
I'm absolutely thrilled that Square paid note to Zerith!!! *^* Goodness I love them. Not only did we get Zerith in Aerith’s church monologue exhibit but now here too?
Zack asked Aqua when he was a kid way before meeting Aerith (plus KH is not canon to the actual original FF7 story), he never asked Cissnei on a date he asked her out to dinner, that's not a date, I go out with my friends to dinner all the time. After meeting his beloved Aerith he never asks anyone else out again. He even writes home to his family that he found a GF. In canon Zack never asked or flirted with anyone else again after falling in love and becoming lovers with Aerith.
This isn't a scene to make them a ship or anything like that or to be taken seriously in a spin-off because only the original games and other ffvii games are canon, so their lovers wouldn't mind. It's an allusion to a scene between two lovers, Zack and Aerith. It means they still see Zerith as the canon Zack and Aerith ship. They still think about Zerith and use Zerith. The guy really has gone through a lot, the destruction of his village, the betrayal of the man he idolized, the death of people he cared about, his identity crisis and then getting hit with a plague after trying to rebuild his life, he even regrets what he did at the begining of ff7. Its like the guy isn't allowed to be happy or in some cases wont allow himself to be happy.

It’s pretty interesting now, but people can disagree with me. I think I’m starting to understand a little maybe of zack’s reference to dates. It’s two things either he really just wants to repay the girl by setting a date because he doesn’t know any other way to repay a “girl” somehow. Cause I guess In a life of a solider women would be considered angelic and precious, beautiful whatever. I guess I thought of this because Zack didn’t react to Serah having a Fiancée. He didn’t freak out or apologized for not knowing. And the flying animal did say (sorry for not knowing it’s name) he is a happy go lucky type of solider. Which could mean he lives life by the fullest not letting anything bother him much. Buttttt maybe that date thing is just to joke around with the girls and loves to see them blush. I mean, in the original FFVII, Aerith describes Zach as a bit of a player, and in the scene of him in the Shinra mansion basement his demeanor kind of confirms that her assessment was accurate, so him wanting to go on dates like that seems very in character for him.

Given Zack's reaction, yes they met prior to this cutscene. After this cutscene though, it's currently unknown, but it seems like they will.
How to I get this mission. I have platinumed the game and never cross this quest.
It’s DLC/upgrade that was released in 2018 if I recall correctly
Just like how Zack met Aerith he fell from above on a garden of flowers then proceeds to ask for a date like nothing happened.
