@@sargentle8517 because all they play on mainstream radio is pop-crap. Imo. Radio works on popularity and what gets popular? Music that is catchy, but is lyrically shit.
Been a fan for 12 years now. And i must say, from begining to end this band has been so loyal to their music. I dont think they will ever stop. Niether do i ever want that too!! Hands down a powerful backround on these guys!!
Riiiigghhhht? Every time they sing, I feel like crying, screaming, laughing all at the same time, all the while whipping my non-existant long Rockstar hair back and forth, while my hands wave through the air🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
If you explore their whole discography, you're in for a treat! All their albums cover a wide range of styles. I won´t tell you what album is their best because that is something for you to decide, but there are great songs in all of them. Enjoy :).
Can't deny I prefer moody, melancholic and slowy Lacuna Coil (first 3 albums) but I freaking love how they're evolving. Bring this new album on already!
I also love first three albums, especially Comalies. For me this song sounds like it's taken from Delirium. Nothing new but heavier. And why does it have to be so dark?
My preference lies with the earlier material as well but I did really like some aspects of Delirium, even if I wasn't completely on board with some of its ideas. That said, this track does feel like a distillation of what I did like about Delirium, though I'd be hard pressed to say it has yet to have anything on songs like A Current Obsession, Reverie or Entwined in my eyes. It's fine, just not my favorite sound from the band.
@@mioszambicki254 I guess the perspective of what "dark" is varies a lot. To me this song is an up tempo energitc song, but songs like Angel's Punishment and When A Dead Man Walks are perfect exemples of how dark gothic rock/metal has to be

I'mma be real with ya'll. I've listened to Lacuna Coil on and off for years and didn't really think Andrea added all that much in terms of vocals. He always seemed to be second to Cristina in every song I heard. Here? I genuinely thought they got a new vocalist at first. The improvements he has made are astounding. I feel like on this track both singers offer equal parts and the song wouldn't work without them both together. That's what Lacuna Coil needs to be, and I am so happy to have found this.
dam the mix on this was brilliant..love how the synths ran with her vocals and how god dam menacing his vocals were...and right from the opening note..bam..this track just had an amazing presence and who ever mixed this did a brilliant job bringing all the voices here together bass drums guitars humans brilliant mix honestly think they sound better than they ever have and it would seem time has really evolved this band into such amazing musicians...really liked the dark edge this song had and how the drums and bass brought it all together.
Could not agree more. This is the first song I heard of theirs since I think Karmacode, or maybe it was Dark Adrenaline, and they have really kicked the energy up a notch. Have since also listened to their last album, Delirium, too. Really, really digging this darker, more aggressive approach from them. Cristina's vocals have never sounded more confident and powerful.
THE most underrated band in the world! They do keep getting stronger with every release: I do like how Andrea's vokills have evolved...Christina's soaring voice is better than ever as well! The new drummer Richard sounds awesome. Last but certainly not least, Marco and Diego are killing it! You guys are heavy as f***! Can't wait for the rest of Black Anima!
So glad Andrea Ferro is finally using those killer screams regularly. He never gave them much love but rare occasions in earlier days, but between Delerium, and now this I'm glad he's finally letting them shine, as he has an awesome scream. Great track.
La voce di Cristina è come un pianoforte che suona melodie dimenticate da tempo ,ogni volta che la senti ti riporta in vita come fosse l'unica fonte di energia che ti serva per continuare a vivere :)
I honestly do not know what to say, this song is so dead on for when you are struggling. Thankfully, those days are long passed and now I can just sit back and be amazed by such well written and recorded songs. This CD kicks ass. Buy it and support the band. Thank you my friends.
I do actually do that sometimes while I'm working. I put on my lacuna coil playlist and just hit repeat for the whole day. It's gotten me through lots of long hard working days.
foojam2002 Paradise Lost...really? Where? It all sounds very “american” (it’s not a critique) IMHO, I don’t hear any “european” and/or British mood in this song...
I legit clicked on this video and walked away from my coworkers saying I have to see if this band is doing anything new and exciting but they are probably not. Boy was I wrong!
The same happened to me 3 years ago. I liked them a lot around the Unleashed memories/Comalies era, then I moved on to other styles and groups and lost track of them. When they released Delirium I heard it by chance, loved it and that turned me back to them and explored all the albums I had missed, and to my surprise I found out I liked them all, and eventually went to see them live (they were amazing). Now they are one of my favourite bands.
Same! I actually remembered them about 3 years ago because my friend on Facebook had been liking Cristina's Facebook posts and I was seeing them in my news feed, reminded me and I thought I should see what they are doing, bought Delirium and went to see them live twice :D I hadn't listened since maybe 2005, in fact the last CD I had was Comalies.
I'd honestly recommend you get totally caught up! Because I personally love all their albums and how they've experimented and evolved over time. Karmacode is still one of my albums of theirs. I can recall listening to it on repeat for an entire day on several occasions 😅. But I really love it all. Iove the band as a whole. Everything they've done, from past to present.
I remember when I use to listen to Commalies more than 15 years ago, and to think how great Lacuna was. But they surprised us, this is totally like wine, they have gotten really better, I am really addicted to this new album.
Anytime you have a rough day or are in the slumps, listening to LC reminds you that metal is alive and well and great bands like LC continue to produce and perform absolutely amazing music that is unmatched, amidst the times and troubles of 2020 and 2021. Great job LC and keep it up! Hope to catch you for the third time soon!
I know Lacuna Coil for 17 years now. They have changed a lot during this time, but I always loved those changes. This does not happen with many bands. :) See you November 23rd!
This honestly might be my all time favorite lacuna coil song. They kept their unique sound and melody but up’ed the heaviness as well as improved screaming lyrics and of course the beautiful clean vocals. Her voice matches any song no matter the style it’s amazing. She can weave that little extra oomph of beauty in the sadness of the song.
This song is assembled perfectly, this guitar and bass work is incredible, also the songwriting. The song is building up, going in waves, you feel pure power, aggression and also pure harmony. Beside the vocals are absolutly awesome. I love Andrea doing this growl vocals and no need to talk about Christina being perfect. Laguna Coil evolving to a new level and this is nice to watch. Hope to see more of this, go on with this powerful and emotional stuff.
Omg tell me why i couldn't sit still when this song started. Body instantly synced. Lacuna coil is a drug and I'm addicted. Perfection. This album is gonna be so deep. I can feel it. Can't wait for it's release. She's the Queen of metal. My meta wife lol ugh i wish. Their voices go together so well. Perfection is the only word that comes to mind. The whole band is amazing
Definitely I appreciate much more this heavier version of Lacuna Coil. I think the already gave all they had with gothic / romantic, and fortunately they moved forward, putting some Slipknot / Meshuggah and so on. But most important, all this doesn't seem fake. My impression is that this band really feels and fits this "gothic-core" version. So, good for 'em, good for me, and I can't wait for the new album.
Scabbia told Hard Drive Radio about "Black Anima": "It might sound really clichéd if we say that it's gonna be heavier and darker, but this is actually the truth. Because I don't think that LACUNA COIL has ever been so heavy. And it will be surprising a lot of people, because we experimented a lot of things differently - vocally and musically. It will be revolving around a book and some other stuff that we can't talk about. And 'Black Anima' is basically translated as 'black soul,' 'cause 'anima' is an Italian word that we decided to use as the title." Added co-vocalist Andrea Ferro: "There's quite a variety of songs, so there's heaviness, but there's also some more melodic tracks that can be more catchy. But it's a very complex record with a lot of different flavors. And we experiment a lot on the lyrics about our lives growing up, experiencing loss or other things that you get more of in the mature age. So we felt the connection with these people that [are] not with us anymore, so we decided to talk about this connection that we feel beyond life." Continued Cristina: "It's a strange combination of sounds that is really difficult to describe. I guess you guys will have to listen to it, 'cause it's hard to describe." Asked if the diversity of the new LACUNA COIL music will lend itself to a dynamic stage show, Cristina said: "Absolutely, because we're touching different themes. And also the styles of the songs - despite being heavy and sometimes even melodic, they're very diverse, one from each other, so that will give us the opportunity to do a lot of different stuff on stage. We have a lot of ideas for the shows that we will play after the release." Added Andrea: "We've also been working with some artists for some of the visual of the booklets that we can reproduce on the live show for the backdrop and all the special stuff on stage. So we have a lot of ideas. And we're still working on them, because we just literally delivered the master last Monday, or a week ago, basically. And it was actually the last day we could deliver [laughs], so it was right in time, perfectly in time. So Marco [Coti Zelati, bass] has been in the studio, working like crazy to finish the master and the mixing. So we already have all the ideas, but we didn't have a lot of time to actually develop them, because we had to focus on that first. But so the next days, we're gonna make it happen."
2019 a good year for Metalheads! We've already had new Album releases from: Slipknot, Tool, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater, Within Temptation, He Is Legend, I Prevail, Crown The Empire, Sum 41, Skillet, Hammerfall. Albums due to be released this year are from: Korn, Puddle Of Mudd, The Agonist, As I Lay Dying, Of Mice & Men, Opeth, Babymetal, Lacuna Coil, Alter Bridge, Norma Jean, Dream State
The male vocalist has improved so much over the years...like in the early days he was just sort of "okay" and more like a backup vocalist...everyone knew of lacuna coil as "that band from underworld with female vocalist" but the male vocalist just gets more and more amazing with every album. On Black Anima he's just fucking amazing.
Andrea Ferro has improved a lot! I've heard them live 2 times. Christina is a goddess with her voice. And Andrea has improved so much, that the dynamics of Layers Of Time are extremly great when you hear it live.
Layers of Time is like a more raw and angry version of Blood, Tears, Dust. It is distinctively Lacuna Coil, yet it's something new and awesome! Love the ending scene. A hint on the next music video?
Could be. I was at the meet and greet last night on LI and we got to hear two additional tracks. They talked about how they were treating it like a proper album that should be listened to from start to finish.
Feels a lot like Blood, Tears, Dust indeed. This is was my favorite song from the last album, and one of my favorite Lacuna songs overall, and I feel Layers of Time will be the same.
No, Blood, Tears, and Dust was far more satisfactorily angry and raw. This felt like common stock, a more toned-down version of their regular style. Refined, in a way.
This band literally gets harder and heavier with each album which is so rare these days.... can’t wait for new album
I also get harder with each album ;)

@@sargentle8517 because all they play on mainstream radio is pop-crap. Imo. Radio works on popularity and what gets popular? Music that is catchy, but is lyrically shit.
Agreed it looks as if they know they made a masterpiece!
They keep it real. Its not a wannabe goth band
They are so awesome ,,, gives me chills!!!
Been a fan for 12 years now. And i must say, from begining to end this band has been so loyal to their music. I dont think they will ever stop. Niether do i ever want that too!! Hands down a powerful backround on these guys!!
Those Lacuna Coil chills are back 😍
Riiiigghhhht? Every time they sing, I feel like crying, screaming, laughing all at the same time, all the while whipping my non-existant long Rockstar hair back and forth, while my hands wave through the air🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Literally gave me chills!
Andrea really worked on his vocals, he really stands on top of the bar.
It’s amazing how long this band has lasted and continued to evolve their sound so much over the years. I need to see them live again!
I’m so glad this was in my recommended, now I have another band to love
Nicole Rose you have to listen to the album « Unleashed Memories », « Comalies » and « In A Reverie ».
^ but FIRST you need to listen to Delirium. It’s their last album and probably their best. Plus it’ll get you ready for this new lacuna coil.
how did you not know them before dafuq
If you explore their whole discography, you're in for a treat! All their albums cover a wide range of styles. I won´t tell you what album is their best because that is something for you to decide, but there are great songs in all of them. Enjoy :).
@@letsplaynefarious I dont listen to this genre to know about them before
Can't deny I prefer moody, melancholic and slowy Lacuna Coil (first 3 albums) but I freaking love how they're evolving. Bring this new album on already!
I also love first three albums, especially Comalies. For me this song sounds like it's taken from Delirium. Nothing new but heavier. And why does it have to be so dark?
Unleashed is my favorite but if this is what's to come it might beat it it JUST might
Vinícius Ferrenberg yea I lost interest in them years ago.
It’s not the same band anymore
My preference lies with the earlier material as well but I did really like some aspects of Delirium, even if I wasn't completely on board with some of its ideas. That said, this track does feel like a distillation of what I did like about Delirium, though I'd be hard pressed to say it has yet to have anything on songs like A Current Obsession, Reverie or Entwined in my eyes. It's fine, just not my favorite sound from the band.
@@mioszambicki254 I guess the perspective of what "dark" is varies a lot. To me this song is an up tempo energitc song, but songs like Angel's Punishment and When A Dead Man Walks are perfect exemples of how dark gothic rock/metal has to be
Layers of time
Layers of time
I live the life I left behind
A story born of scars and strifes
My heart is blind and frozen
I'm among snakes
I'm well disguised
Healers and dealer of this time
The poison enters every night
Well disguised
Victims of time
We take our chance again
Our road is paved with pain
The past we can't rewind
Building this life
Still trapped inside
I think I've lost the storyline
Forever hurt and broken
I swear I'll get out alive
Burning the bridges built behind
My life's reloading every night
Out alive
Victims of time
We take our chance again
Our road is paved with pain
The past we can't rewind
Twisting, turning
Through the baptism of fire
Burning angels falling
Through the spiral of time
Twisting, turning
Through the baptism of fire
Burning angels…
Thanks lyric genius, you can fuck off now.
@@freidarhealness5216 damn don’t be dick about it
Doing the Lord's work bro, don't listen to the fuckwits
I love when someone posts the lyrics. I'm a vocalist learning this song so my band can cover it
Thanks for posting the lyrics
Can we take some time to appreciate Andrea's voice?
(As well as the rest of the band's performance)
check her voice live mate
@@venomsnake7689 Already did. I absolutely love Cristina's voice, but Andrea and the musicians are often underestimated
Andrea voice live is way far better than studio version, I was so impressed and the band was really impressive as well
@@johntrooper5310 I gotta agree, Christina has always been amazing but Andrea has REALLY improved over the last few albums.
Cristina is always amazing, but I feel like Andrea's really come into his own, and he has been killing it!
I get real goosebumps at 2:55. I love everything about this song. It's so empowering.
Im super glad they kept the heavyness.of Delirum album!!! Love the riff's and Andrea's type of vocals!!!
Me too!
Yes the heavy element is great for live shows
So much symbolism in these lyrics...black and white color tuning...yeah, this is Magick. They're powerful...
just cant get enough of this song , love how the band continues to get better with every album , still enjoy their older music as well
Oh dude you’ll never find a better version of Enjoy the Silence or Losing My Religion than from Lacuna Coil.
That's what Lacuna Coil needs to be, and I am so happy to have found this.
did you miss delirium? he was amazing in that
@@trashheap94 I'll check it out, thank you!
You will not be disappointed cos Lacuna Coil NEVER disappoints ❤️🖤🤘🏼
I'm disappointed. Now what?
Lacuna Coil stepped it up big here!!
@xREZxTITANx I DO NOT have information that will lead to Hillary Clinton's arrest!
Actually disappointed a lot these recent years, that is until this song came out. Absolutely brilliant! Best thing in metal currently!
@@caulairdis grow a pair
Nadie pone en discusión la voz de Cristina, es hermosa!
Pero Andrea!!!! Andrea mejora cada vez!!! Amo sus guturales 🤘🎤🎶🤘
Increíble lo que canta estos años
By the time the album comes out, I would have listened to this song about 250 times....
Ma come cazzo è possibile che ad ogni nuova canzone voi miglioriate sempre di più?
I love it when Andrea does the death metal screams
So badass
Great song Cristina is amazing as usual
Wow.. I haven't heard Lacuna Coil since Karmacode. This is a hell of a song to return to.. Looks like I need to get reacquainted.. Haha
Same
Fever Dream Terror same history as you! Gonna get this album!
You have to check out their prior album to this then, Delirium!
Delirium was pretty good too
Me too! I'm surprised they went in this direction
They are getting edgier and edgier with every new album and I love it
idk why but it was kinda adorable seeing Christina twirl at 1:30 lol
I *really* appreciate a metal band where from time to time the singers let the music lead a track. Incredible stuff!
dam the mix on this was brilliant..love how the synths ran with her vocals and how god dam menacing his vocals were...and right from the opening note..bam..this track just had an amazing presence and who ever mixed this did a brilliant job bringing all the voices here together bass drums guitars humans brilliant mix honestly think they sound better than they ever have and it would seem time has really evolved this band into such amazing musicians...really liked the dark edge this song had and how the drums and bass brought it all together.
Christina's voice is amazing 😍😍😍
Rock Royalty! They are absolutely SLAYING it, man. And that Italian Super Model fronting the Scary Bro's, just crushed those vocals!
I am 32. Been a fan since age 12. 20 best musical years of my life. TI AMO PER SEMPRE LACUNA COIL. And you only have gotten more incredible with time!
Love this song she rocks her voice is amazing.
This track is absolutely SAVAGE!! Lacuna Coil is even heavier than before but they maintain the melodic elements they always have had! Wow!
She has one of the most beautiful Italian voice of any female singer I've ever heard
Back here again after 'Reckless' and stayed because I just can't get enough with this song. This is the best LC song that I've heard IMHO 👍
Black anima is their best album since comalies 🖤🔥🤘✅💯👏👍
"Black Anima" is one of the best LACUNA COIL albums ever
So glad Andrea Ferro is finally using those killer screams regularly. He never gave them much love but rare occasions in earlier days, but between Delerium, and now this I'm glad he's finally letting them shine, as he has an awesome scream. Great track.
La voce di Cristina è come un pianoforte che suona melodie dimenticate da tempo ,ogni volta che la senti ti riporta in vita come fosse l'unica fonte di energia che ti serva per continuare a vivere :)
i'm so grateful that except my pain i have you to listen to, someone is there and understands
This is a PERFECT combination of clean vocals and screaming.
I honestly do not know what to say, this song is so dead on for when you are struggling. Thankfully, those days are long passed and now I can just sit back and be amazed by such well written and recorded songs. This CD kicks ass. Buy it and support the band. Thank you my friends.
Cristina and Andrea literally keep getting better. I love their old and new music. This song is gonna make my fall.
This is music for gods, the mix of heavy male vocals followed up with the female vocal harmony is lit
I want to have cristina scabbia singing in my ear all day ❤
William Drakull Cristina, can you sing "Soft Kitty" to me?
I do actually do that sometimes while I'm working. I put on my lacuna coil playlist and just hit repeat for the whole day. It's gotten me through lots of long hard working days.
So happy Lacuna Coil have a new album!
This song is boss!
2:14 onward - Cristina's vocals are goddess level!
Sometimes Cristina’s voice can run a tingle down your spine, a wonderful mix of both beautiful and haunting.
A paradise lost vibe, good song.
(°o°) Totally
foojam2002 Paradise Lost...really? Where? It all sounds very “american” (it’s not a critique) IMHO, I don’t hear any “european” and/or British mood in this song...
Their first 3 albums were Paradise Lost worship..
I love how Andrea has taken to his death metal side. This is one of Lacuna Coil's best songs in a really long time! I really love it!
wow! I was a huge fan back in the early-mid 2000s and kind of fell away. popped back in to see how they're doing and I'm really impressed!
I'm glad they decided to take a chance and change their style
Entwined and Heaven's a lie are still good though :)
Well they are Italian, so it’s in the blood.
I'm glad they went in a heavier direction especially for when doing live shows to get the crowd moving
Lacuna Coil just gets harder and continues to bring it! I'm glad I still follow this band.
Hope to see more of this, go on with this powerful and emotional stuff.
in love with Lacuna coils music, Cristina is
molto bello amore mio.
This band will always be my #1 goth metal in the world. This song is so raging brilliant!! I love it!!!!!🖤🖤🖤🖤
Omg tell me why i couldn't sit still when this song started.
Finally lacuna coil are back in the Game ❤😍 harder and in some ways better
Christina still sounds angelic..what a voice *swoons*
Definitely I appreciate much more this heavier version of Lacuna Coil.
I think the already gave all they had with gothic / romantic, and fortunately they moved forward, putting some Slipknot / Meshuggah and so on.
But most important, all this doesn't seem fake. My impression is that this band really feels and fits this "gothic-core" version.
So, good for 'em, good for me, and I can't wait for the new album.
I agree - this doesn't seem forced at all. They are naturally heavy, and this song allows it to flow. Looking forward to the whole album
And 'Black Anima' is basically translated as 'black soul,' 'cause 'anima' is an Italian word that we decided to use as the title."
Added co-vocalist Andrea Ferro: "There's quite a variety of songs, so there's heaviness, but there's also some more melodic tracks that can be more catchy. But it's a very complex record with a lot of different flavors. And we experiment a lot on the lyrics about our lives growing up, experiencing loss or other things that you get more of in the mature age. So we felt the connection with these people that [are] not with us anymore, so we decided to talk about this connection that we feel beyond life."
Continued Cristina: "It's a strange combination of sounds that is really difficult to describe. I guess you guys will have to listen to it, 'cause it's hard to describe."
Asked if the diversity of the new LACUNA COIL music will lend itself to a dynamic stage show, Cristina said: "Absolutely, because we're touching different themes. And also the styles of the songs - despite being heavy and sometimes even melodic, they're very diverse, one from each other, so that will give us the opportunity to do a lot of different stuff on stage. We have a lot of ideas for the shows that we will play after the release."
Added Andrea: "We've also been working with some artists for some of the visual of the booklets that we can reproduce on the live show for the backdrop and all the special stuff on stage.

You forgot the MAIN event JINJER! Both Micro EP and Macro LP are masterpieces and evolution of Metal.
Don't forget about the IN FLAMES revival with I, THE MASK:)
And tarja 😍 her album in the raw amazing and epic
The male vocalist has improved so much over the years...like in the early days he was just sort of "okay" and more like a backup vocalist...everyone knew of lacuna coil as "that band from underworld with female vocalist" but the male vocalist just gets more and more amazing with every album. On Black Anima he's just fucking amazing.
Andrea Ferro has improved a lot! I've heard them live 2 times. Christina is a goddess with her voice. And Andrea has improved so much, that the dynamics of Layers Of Time are extremly great when you hear it live.
Awesome, Lacuna Coil is amazing as always
Always
Layers of Time is like a more raw and angry version of Blood, Tears, Dust. It is distinctively Lacuna Coil, yet it's something new and awesome!
Love the ending scene. A hint on the next music video?
Could be. I was at the meet and greet last night on LI and we got to hear two additional tracks. They talked about how they were treating it like a proper album that should be listened to from start to finish.
And like House of Shame.
Blood tears dust is my fave song of all lacuna coil's songs👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 followed by every other song of theirs I've heard
