And when your joystick drifts you’ll have to get another elite.
I’ve had my elite for 4 years. Not drift at all.. still a better controller in my opinion. I’m a comp R6 player
Not really. If it ever drifts realistically you have 3 options. 1 is calibration because most modern controllers can fix drift with software. 2 is replacing the sticks by opening up the controller, which most modern controllers have the ability to do. 3 is replacing them with hall effect sticks, so they never drift.
@@MXALOVE The advantage the Sony one has is that you can replace the sticks for $20 each. Not everyone knows how to solder them in.
Joystick drift isn't such a big deal unless it's major stick drift wich is unlikely
I’m one a year on my elite series 2 and I have 0 drift also if you do get drift software updates help fix it also there’s options for input deadlines in most games so you can actively counter it if necessary. I’ve experienced more drift wit PlayStation than I have on Xbox literally 6 ps4 controller to 0 Xbox controllers.

coming from someone who has owned an xbox one and now owns a ps5, the elite controller IS the better option on paper, but you forgot some key aspects that differentiate the two: first, the fact that the dualsense has a lot of features in itself that drain the battery up veey quickly, such as the lights, the built-in microphone, the built-in speaker and the adaptive triggers. those are the ones i can think of, dunno if there’s more things that have an impact to it. secondly, it seems to have some nice features, like the fact that you can swap out the joysticks entirely in case you experience stick drift, which is something i’ve never seen in a controller before. overall i think that both controllers were built for two different purposes, since the elite is more targeted for competitive gaming while the edge was built for gameplay immersion and a bit for competition.
Damn bro write a whole chapter of a book man but anyways thanks for letting know and sorry for ur loss of ur fingers😂

It’s such a scam that Sony is committing at this point, much more expensive for a useless controller, it’s better to just buy the regular one. There’s almost no difference. The only thing PlayStation elite has is haptic feedback, which is useless in anything by except for story games.
@@PastPositiveChangeable analog engines and two different type magnetic back buttons and adaptive triggers and 4 different profiles which you can adjust the sensitivity and dead zones for trigger buttons and analogs were enough for me to buy a DualSense Edge controller. Xbox controller design is whack. Feels like im holding a laptop in my hand
I love the DualSense's slimmer grips but it's really hard to go back to PlayStation's left thumbstick position after having tried Xbox's -- my left thumb is on the stick 60 - 80% of the time and it's great to have my thumb close to its neutral position on an Xbox controller.
thats why you have back paddles lol but ok
@@fabolousjada5070 What does the back paddles have to do with my left thumb placement? You mean to say it can be used as a left stick? 🤔
Ok.
I will never understand this argument. Your hands are symmetrical. Why shouldn't the sticks be ?
@@dc-vw4qm True. But you don't seem to get my point. Look at your hands from the side. You'll see that your left thumb naturally is close the the index finger.
With the DS controllers, you have to shift it away from its neutral position to reach the left thumbstick.
Now consider most games require the use of left thumbsticks more often than the D-pad.
With Xbox's left thumbstick placement (as well as Switch's and other 3rd party controllers), the left thumb is close to its neutral position most of the time.
The right thumbstick placement doesn't really matter though because your right thumb pretty much uses the facebuttons and right stick almost equally (unless it's an FPS game).
The PlayStation controllers though are a lot easier to play 2D platforming games with because the D-pad sets your thumb near its neutral position.
@@rendelldraw the irony of you telling me I've missed your point when you completely missed/ignored mine. Your hands are symmetrical.
Actually the Xbox Elite 2 Controller doesn’t charge wirelessly. There are 3 pins in the charging station that directly contact the 3 pads at the back of the controller which enables charging. Xbox elite series 2 has a locked usb clock speed of 7.9ms and cant be over clocked. Dual sense usb clock speed is 3.9ms out of the box and can be overclocked to 0.9ms... huge difference...
what does that mean?
@silvallygamer123 it's the input delay the controller has. USB has a clock speed and some manufactures lock these I.e xb elite series 2 is locked speed that gives an 8ms delay. As its locked, you can't overclock this to reduce it. Where as the dual sense has a stock clock of 4ms, but can be overclocked to reduce the input lag to less than 1ms.
@@daxgaming6391how does one over clock the controller to do that? Lol only PC able?

i haven't suffered drift only 1 time when one of my old controlls got throwed alot of times
well personally, on my elite 1 the magnetic joysticks often come off far too easily, usually when I don't want them to. Dropping the controller or flicking/pulling it wrong by mistake can easily cause them to fly off, also the controller is extremely heavy compared to other controllers, if you get stick drift you have to replace the entire controller. and also my LB button broke after a year of regular use. I love Xbox and their controllers but I won't be buying their premium ones anymore, the new PlayStation edge looks great aside from the small battery life. I'm debating buying it for pc due to the replaceable thumbsticks and dual sense triggers, also the track pad is pretty cool. But I much prefer the Xbox controller shape in the hand so I'm still debating it, battery life is not an issue as I run wired controllers on the occasions that I use a controller on PC.
The elite is wank. This guy is a clown
@@phantasticmrphasma9874 I agree, regular Xbox controllers are great but the elite series is a huge scam
I got my edge 2 days ago and it's great with all the settings on ps5. Idk if you get all these different deadzones and stuff on PC with this controller. But yeah I switched to Playstation back in 2017/2018 from being on Xbox my entire life for online gaming. Before I switched I had an Xbox elite for my Xbox one, assuming it was an elite 1 or 1st generation etc. I mainly played cod, rainbow six siege, halo. So obviously the sticks and paddles got used a bit. It got stick drift just as fast as a normal controller. After like couple months of use, it felt like the magnets for the paddles, joysticks got weaker and they would just pop off like you said. I still have it lol my main reason for switching to Playstation was I always hated the Xbox one controller, smaller sticks, deadzones being smaller/super sensitive compared to Xbox 360 controllers. But the main reason is the Xbox one controllers had more input delay.
@@SooHighFashion I never knew Xbox controllers had more input delay, as far as paddles go I've never used them even on my elite 1. I suppose you could get an app for tuning your controller deadzones. or adapt to the preset ones and change your in-game sensitivity/deadzones if needed if you used the edge on PC, I still feel that the Xbox controller is more comfortable in the hand than the playstation controller
@@Voidesh xbox elite controllers have almost 8 times sinput delay compared to a standard dualsense
All this feature, just to get a drift stick at the end
The only thing going for the duelsense edge is the replaceable sticks, which if you really want or need to do that, the original playstation controller can also do that, just not as easy.
The thing is about the dualsense edge You don’t have to re-solder joysticks

You can replace those thankfully for a better looking front plate
You can swap the analog sticks. Enough said.

Everyone gangsta until the Xbox Elite controller's rubber becomes sticky and melted
Something wrong with your body chemistry if the rubbers melting.
It cools down now if you aim a 500 degree fan at it then maybe but not from regular use

@@L11STU Don't deflect this to console war bs. This is about comparing controllers lol. The elite series 2 controller has a built in, rechargable 40 hr battery life with color changing RGB lights, exchangeable joysticks, paddles, and an all around more comfortable grip.
There's more active users on Xbox then there is on PlayStation right now my guy.... Look it up. That's just facts.... Why? Because all of Sony exclusives are 1 and done games.... Besides a few like blood Bourne, demon souls, ghost tsushima that came out on PS4.... I really don't see the point in buying a PS5. No one wants to play The last of Us remake again .... The last of Us 2 remastered loss over 70% of their player base within a week.... How many times are you going to play ratchet & clank? While on Xbox I could quick resume in between 5 different games even after taking my Xbox to another person's house ;/ I even uploaded a video of the series s doing so
Palworlds blew up while being exclusive to Xbox as of now.... Games like lies of p and wu long fallen dynasty (souls games) came to Xbox game pass day 1.
Left 4 dead 2 ... A game over 10 years old.... Has more players playing till this day with over 17-25k online per month ... Compared to God of war Ragnarok that only has like 3K players playing that cutscene simulator 💀 again it's simple there's no replayability to most ps games.... Don't even get me started on horizon forbidden West lol

My elite series 2 broke after 4 months of using. Really regret getting it.

So what, just contact microsoft, and you will get a new one
There are people that have their elite for 4 yrs and don’t even get stick drift, it’s probably the way you treated it
What kind of games are you playing that cause your premium controller to break after 4 months of usage

You can customize the dual sense edge stick sensitivity in your ps5 settings. It comes with its own unique software. The downside is I emailed Sony and they couldn’t tell me what setting I had to place to make it feel like my regular ps5 sticks so I returned it !
You didnt just look it up online?
Linear
I got an Elite 2 back in 2022, upon arriving I had to RMA it because the “B” button would get caught under the front plate of the controller (I used it for Elden ring on PC so this made the controller unusable)
When I got it back the B button would no longer get stuck, but now the left stick would only register half of an “up” input meaning my character could only slowly walk forward, I sent it back again
When I got it back from RMA the stick registered full input but would grind when moving it around like there was gravel inside of the controller. I sent it back again.
This time I reviewed an Email from Microsoft basically owning up to the issues with the controller and the lack of the technician’s ability to fix it correctly and offered me either…
A: If I provide the receipt where I got the controller originally they offered me $180USD ($50 over what I initially paid at Gamestop)
B: If I didn’t have the receipt they would offer me local MSRP ($129) in return for the controller
I took the first offer and haven’t gone back to a Series 2 Elite since, I now use a controller I got off Amazon for $40. Much better experience so far
Idk who would read this even if they had the time all I read was u like $40 controllers over ones that are way better

Not gonna lie, xbox elite is the worst controller I used when it comes to build quality. I mean, there were worse ones, but they were not that expensive.
It didn't even survive a year, RB button does not work most of the time, rubber cover is unsticking from both sides and analog sticks wobble like a rubber pelvis.

I paid 200😎 140 for the Elite 2 Core last year, then bought the case with all the extras for 60 this year. Definitely worth it, if you can afford to spend on it. Nothing against anyone that can't though. It's not my business or my place to knock anyone like that because I damn sure couldn't at one point in life.... but yeah if you game as much as I do, it's a banger 🔥🔥🔥

You literally Made that up right after watching the video
Bros juts trying to make the xbox ones sound better cause he prefers Xbox don’t make videos like this cause it can put people off buying what is an amazing controller being the dualsense edge
1. The 2 back buttons instead of 4 is personal preference as 2 is enough for me.
2. The onboard software on the PS5 does a WAY BETTER representation of customising the controllers buttons and functions.
3. The analog sticks are REPLACEABLE meaning you can buy new stick modules for just £20/$20 instead of a new controller.
4. You can swap between custom profiles with ease on the ps5 by holding the function button and pressing one of the shapes that has a profile linked to it.
You can make anything sound better than anything else if you only mention the aspects where it is better and leave out the aspects where it's worse
Fr
almost the point of the video
1 reason why an off-brand $30 controller is better than elite 2: Reliability.
I've returned SO MANY elite 2s that at this point I'm willing to bet my life that it's impossible to buy 5 elite 2s without getting at least 1 broken one.
That's why I just bought a broken one and fixed it for dirt cheap. Lol
It's crazy I'm so lucky I've had mine since a year after they launched the og elite series 2 and it still works
@@chrisdescoteaux6851 it's honestly SO GOOD I might try my luck. although it's kinda too heavy I don't think it's comfortable for long hours.
Dualsense Edge...3 things i wanted most was Hall effect sticks and soft texture rubber grips and better battery life... as u can guess i didnt buy! MS dont use Hall effect sticks either! Both take the piss theres 3rd party controllers that use Hall effect sticks costing less than half the price of these!
Here’s the thing. The series 2 is perfect for paddle players. It blows other controllers out of the water. The problem is the durability. I’ve gone through at least FIVE of them and the reason why I’m a fool as to buy more when there’s clearly an issue is because they are just so good. But sadly they have problems that are bound to show up eventually: stick drift (not a big one for me) and bumpers (the single problem that’s literally killed all of my elite controllers. That’s why I’m looking into scuff controllers now. Obviously scuff isn’t worth it if you are comparing the two. Series 2 is more bang for you buck by a large margin. I’m just hoping that the scuff would be an investment if it is much more durable and actually lasts more than 8 months.
Scuf not worth it from what I've seen and heard from people who used them.
Comparing controllers from two different consoles be like 😂
Yeah that's so insane😭
But what about the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers
That's just a thing that Sony already had on Xbox
No way he just used the travel cases to compare the 2 controllers 💀
i mean, its part of what you pay for
When Xbox makes symmetrical joysticks you can talk
Ps controllers are arthritis on steroids
It's only good for fighting games otherwise it's just trash
That's why Nintendo copied the Xbox joystick layout over the PS layout. Keep your trash controller with only the battery life
The asymmetrical are more comfortable for sure, there’s a reason nintendo went with it
I can see why the button icons aren't a problem to you if that's your issue 💀💀💀💀
The fact that PS only put two paddles on the back is a deal breaker. What the hell were they thinking?
Most people only use 2. Ive used a scuf for years now and purposely use 2 out of the 4 i have.
@@ewan503 still seems a bit odd, I have an elite for my box and use all four all the time. Mainly cuz two of them are set to my thumb sticks for sprinting and sliding/crouching. I haven’t herd great reviews on scuffs and been wanting a “elite” style controller for my ps5.

@@marijnnn4992 what makes Xbox controller superior to PlayStation? Cause off centered joysticks to me kinda suck.
Given it does lack some of those features, it still has haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and replaceable joystick modules. Also this is only the first version im certain they will most likely come out with a 2nd version in the future
@actuator416 Yeah, but if you are playing any type of adventure game, most people want to play for the experience, and the triggers give it more realistic qualities. And yeah, you don't want haptic triggers for competitive games like Fortnite or CoD
Ain’t no way bro thinks that magnetic thumb sticks are better 💀
They are but if you wanna get stick drift stick to the normal ones
