Ever been to a wedding in Ireland? My wife is from there and the reception is just like a 50's Dance party like in the video @1:18. I am betting people would love your dresses there.
Yess!!! One of my fave songs by her and video which didn't get a lot of air play in the states. I use to see this on much music I loved it before it became fuse.
Welll, the song is not bad, but the video is sooo much better than the song itself, especially the singing. Maybe that´s the reason it´s not so popular. ;)
One or the best videos ever, love Dash (the guy she's dancing with the whole video) he is also an incredible as actor. The last scene in the club, I feel this is really free style and they just went for it. So amazing!💜🧡💚
For my unique Fred and Ginger/Newsies/League of Their Own old black and white classic movie-loving yet also 100% 90's kid/teen self, I'm shocked this is the first time I'm ever seeing this music video. Wonder where I was when this video dropped, probably bitching about getting my own phone line to parents who would never say yes lol
This here is proof that chemistry and talent can produce incredible results... there's no question that Dash carries this video, but the attraction and physicality between the two makes the whole thing darn near perfect. Alanis did well in making this video with her supremely talented partner at the time, a great showing by both chantreusse and performer!
I think this my favourite music video of all time. I love the costumes and dancing, I love Dash Mihok (he is so cute!), and I love that he was Alanis’s boyfriend at the time. My favourite part is the swing dancing. They look so adorable!
everything sounds so natural and loose on this video. a diehard fan can see alanis expressions having fun and trying to do her best without much effort. her smile though the whole video can't deny it. THE LAUGHTER AT THE END. HOLY COW
This was the first time I realizaed Alanis can dance. The, after seing those 91 videos from her debut album, I'm saying: "She's a hell of a dancer". Nice move.
I remember seeing this once or twice on VH1 back in 1999 and loved the song and video. Bought the German import CD single of it. Sad that it never hit over here in the USA.
The man dancing with her is Dash Mihok, her then boyfriend. Mihok, an actor, had a role in the movie Day after Tomorrow. In case anyone recognized him :)
mcpheonixx That's the first thing I thought of when I saw him in this video! The scene where he is at the gas station, with his Montague posse, and John Leguizamo (who played Juliet's cousin) was also there, with his Capulet gang. And they proceeded to "put away thy swords," the swords being the brand of guns they had! I thought that was a very clever way to portray Romeo and Juliet. It was set in present time, but they still spoke like they did in the actual play! Gotta hand it to Baz Luhrman...he knew how to bring his visions to life, and they were always very colorful and bright!
I loved this album when it came out...I remember it wasn't easy being a death metaller and saying I liked Alanis, but I really could care less, I'm not in it to be popular, I like my Black Sabbath, Cannibal corpse and Alanis all to myself. Rock on Alanis!
I've known this song and video for about 20 years and I only now notice that the dance floor in the tap sequence is a recreation of that famous dance floor from the movie Swing Time. Now I love this video even more.
gynsu666 Because ppl still want more of “angry” Alanis. They don’t understand that she’s in a different place in life now & that’s what she’s writing about. The fact she’s staying true to herself & not write another “Pill” album makes me love her more.
The dude in the video is Dash Mihok, actor extraordinaire. This is song is actually written about him and when they dated back in '98, I think. The other song written about him was "That Particular Time" and that was about their break.
I've "sorta" know this song since I bought the album in 1998. All of the sudden it's back in my head and today is the first time I've ever seen this engaging video. Wow, a new appreciation has ignited!
I love the male dancer in this clip. I live in Paris and have no TV, but had seen this sent over from the States. It's a great song, there you go, but the Hollywood dance aspects of it are astonishing. She is this major talent but here, finally, I see this guy was a classic good partner, letting her shine. Bravo!
LOVE. The light in this song. And the gorgeous, gorgeous video. Wonderful effects for its time (and they still stand), used to tell the story. One of my all-time favourite clip-song combos.
I love this song AND this video, and they just aren't seen or heard very often.Very catchy, and even better,Alanis and her dancing partner are obviously having a blast-those grins aren't fake1Very refreshing.Glad to hear this again after so long.
You're from New York, you are so relevant You reduce me to cosmic tears Luminous, more so than most anyone Unapologetically alive Knot in my stomach And lump in my throat I love you when you dance When you freestyle in trance So pure, such an expression I love you when you dance When you freestyle in trance So pure, such an expression Supposed former infatuation junkie I sink three pointers and you wax poetically I love you when you dance When you freestyle in trance So pure, such an expression I love you when you dance When you freestyle in trance So pure, such an expression Let's grease the wheel over tea Let's discuss things in confidence Let's be outspoken, let's be ridiculous Let's solve the world's problems I love you when you dance When you freestyle in trance So pure, such an expression I love you when you dance When you freestyle in trance So pure, such an expression
I just rewatched the video today and I still loved it! Specially when she transforms into the first Shakira (before Laundry Service) and into Cosima from Orphan Black! :D
I saw this video on The Box back in the late nineties, but I never remembered the singer or the lyrics - just the tune of the chorus and the music video. Drove me nuts for well over ten years. JUST found it now! Feels like an itch that I can finally scratch.
I hadn't seen this video for about a dozen years or so and had forgotten she even made a video for this song, but I remembered having seen it while I watched it again yesterday. Also I seem to remember wanting the dress she's wearing during the bridge, when I was in my early 20s.
For some reason this song just never made it here in the US. I remember seeing this video all of one time when the song came out (1999 or 2000, its been a long time) and bought the import CD single of it. This was one of my favorites by her
Not only the video underrated! Just as a song too! It's so different by Alanis!!! So much beat, so catchy!!! Same like "Tomorrow never knows" by Beatles. They don't have any song like this one.
This doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. It really is brilliant
And the Costume Designer is me :) Carol Beadle
It should be on your music video section on your website. This video is not there.
Carol Beadle
I love the costumes in this video! What was Alanis like to work with?
amazing job!
Ever been to a wedding in Ireland? My wife is from there and the reception is just like a 50's Dance party like in the video @1:18. I am betting people would love your dresses there.
Respects ! I'm in love with this clip since 2000
One of her best songs ever and so few ppl know about it. So Purely sad!!
Yess!!! One of my fave songs by her and video which didn't get a lot of air play in the states. I use to see this on much music I loved it before it became fuse.
The album sold about 9 million copies, so I think quite a few people know about it. Lol
It is my favorite too! The lyrics are so deep I can't believe it's about dancing until I get old lols!
Welll, the song is not bad, but the video is sooo much better than the song itself, especially the singing. Maybe that´s the reason it´s not so popular. ;)
actually , this song help this album sell 14 million copies. Thank you only sold over a million copies.
One or the best videos ever, love Dash (the guy she's dancing with the whole video) he is also an incredible as actor. The last scene in the club, I feel this is really free style and they just went for it. So amazing!💜🧡💚
Alanis should do Dancing With The Stars. She has the fan base to win and obviously the natural talent.
They should BOTH be on DWTS! Smooches to Bunchy! Who knew?
Thank God for giving us Alanis Morissette!
One of the best music videos ever. So creative.
In love with this song. Thanks Alanis..memorize 😊

Alanis did well in making this video with her supremely talented partner at the time, a great showing by both chantreusse and performer!
She definitely can dance. Wow.
This is incredibly good. Even for an old metalhead like myself.
This video should be way more popular than it is. :|
i thought the same thing when it came out, but it really never got played.
I was just thinking that! It's one of the greatest music videos of all time!
@@AliceKo17 I think it is
totally, just came from Thank U at 60 Million views, was shocked this didnt even have a Mil
Totally agree!
I think this my favourite music video of all time. I love the costumes and dancing, I love Dash Mihok (he is so cute!), and I love that he was Alanis’s boyfriend at the time. My favourite part is the swing dancing. They look so adorable!

The man dancing with her is Dash Mihok, her then boyfriend. Mihok, an actor, had a role in the movie Day after Tomorrow. In case anyone recognized him :)
mcpheonixx He was also in Romeo and Juliet with Leo DiCaprio and Claire Danes back in 1996. He was Romeo's cousin. I would recognize him anywhere!!!
Jennifer Compton Haha good catch, I loved the movie.
mcpheonixx That's the first thing I thought of when I saw him in this video! The scene where he is at the gas station, with his Montague posse, and John Leguizamo (who played Juliet's cousin) was also there, with his Capulet gang. Gotta hand it to Baz Luhrman...he knew how to bring his visions to life, and they were always very colorful and bright!
mcpheonixx He is also Bunch in the TV series Ray Donovan
So the song is about him? He's from New York... Maybe just a coincidence.
I loved this album when it came out...I remember it wasn't easy being a death metaller and saying I liked Alanis, but I really could care less, I'm not in it to be popular, I like my Black Sabbath, Cannibal corpse and Alanis all to myself. Rock on Alanis!

love love love :) :) :) music people, dance people...if you have a clue at all, you appreciate this song :) :) :)
Why this song never got the hits other major songs have I don't understand. One of your best songs imo. I
The machine wasn't behind her by this point.
It got played a lot on VH1, along with Unsent. Nobody seems to remember either one though.
gynsu666 Because ppl still want more of “angry” Alanis. They don’t understand that she’s in a different place in life now & that’s what she’s writing about. The fact she’s staying true to herself & not write another “Pill” album makes me love her more.
Most of the best music isn't what can be consumed by the biggest crowd. "Ten billion flies can't be wrong - eat poop" 😉
No song from this album were hits. Thank U sort of was, but all the other singles didn't do well at all. 😢
I LOVE this video. It makes me mad happy that it's all about dancing and that Alanis is such an amazing dancer.
Wow great singer, great song writer, and great dancer..a truly gifted woman
I cannot get over the fact that I'm watching Bunchy Donovan bust a move. A lot of moves actually! #MindBlown
The dude in the video is Dash Mihok, actor extraordinaire.
This is song is actually written about him and when they dated back in '98, I think.
The other song written about him was "That Particular Time" and that was about their break.
So Pure... Such an Expression! ❤
They absolutely genuinely 100% look so in love at the last dance.
I love all of Alanis' music, but this is my favorite. Anytime I'm feeling down or in a bad mood, I okay this video and all happiness returns
def one of my favorite Alanis songs. man the time it took to learn those dance steps. lol
Both are such good dancers.
I've "sorta" know this song since I bought the album in 1998. All of the sudden it's back in my head and today is the first time I've ever seen this engaging video. Wow, a new appreciation has ignited!
2021 and this makes the hair in my arms stand up WHAT A TUNE, thankyou
❤❤❤
One of the best videos ever. Such great performances by Alannis and Dash!
Absolutely love this video and song. Amazing Alanis! :-)
Incredible video, so free spirited just like the song!!!
Excellent video!!! It brings back many memories from that time of my life!!! Great album, great song and great video!!!
Thank you Ray Donovan!! A totally different side to Bunchy! What a beautiful, cool bloke!
Boy, she has great videos!! Love this! She is an excellent dancer!!
One of my favorite Alanis's songs ❤️ the other one is "Hands Clean"
one of Alanis’s best song and for sure the best video ever! it breaks my heart with less than 1m views 😔
highly underrated song
When the times were more innocent.

This is STILL such a GREAT song and such amazing talent with the dancing... just the bomb
Dash Mihok.. "Sgt. Jeremy Mitchell" in The Perfect Storm...yummm...so handsome and a FABULOUS dancer!!!!
What a doll. She is such a wonderful and talented musician. I hope she puts out some new good quality music soon!
Uno de mis video favoritos,ALANIS se hizo famosa sin internet
Very special and creative song!
Holy cow, that's ''Bunchy'' from the show ''Ray Donovan'',dancing with Alanis!
Yes, this was when she was dating Dash Mihok.

Great song. Great video.
LOVE. The light in this song. And the gorgeous, gorgeous video. Wonderful effects for its time (and they still stand), used to tell the story. One of my all-time favourite clip-song combos.
My fave alanis song. So beautiful and inspirational
I love this song AND this video, and they just aren't seen or heard very often.Very catchy, and even better,Alanis and her dancing partner are obviously having a blast-those grins aren't fake1Very refreshing.Glad to hear this again after so long.
You're from New York, you are so relevant
You reduce me to cosmic tears
Luminous, more so than most anyone
Unapologetically alive
Knot in my stomach
And lump in my throat
I love you when you dance
When you freestyle in trance
So pure, such an expression
I love you when you dance
When you freestyle in trance
So pure, such an expression
Supposed former infatuation junkie
I sink three pointers and you wax poetically
I love you when you dance
When you freestyle in trance
So pure, such an expression
I love you when you dance
When you freestyle in trance
So pure, such an expression
Let's grease the wheel over tea
Let's discuss things in confidence
Let's be outspoken, let's be ridiculous
Let's solve the world's problems
I love you when you dance
When you freestyle in trance
So pure, such an expression
I love you when you dance
When you freestyle in trance
So pure, such an expression
I just rewatched the video today and I still loved it! Specially when she transforms into the first Shakira (before Laundry Service) and into Cosima from Orphan Black! :D
Alanis looks so happy here. I love it!
I saw this video on The Box back in the late nineties, but I never remembered the singer or the lyrics - just the tune of the chorus and the music video. Drove me nuts for well over ten years. JUST found it now! Feels like an itch that I can finally scratch.
Am i only one who is still listening this son and laughing with Alanis end of it? 😍🤭
I was today years old when I discovered Bunch is really good at dancing.
I hadn't seen this video for about a dozen years or so and had forgotten she even made a video for this song, but I remembered having seen it while I watched it again yesterday. Also I seem to remember wanting the dress she's wearing during the bridge, when I was in my early 20s.
Luv luv luv this song and ALANIS SO MUCH THAT ITS SO PURE
My favorite female musician back in the '90s! I loved the whole video when it came out and I love it until today
Just viewed this because of Dash. Wow, what a great dancer! Should incorporate that into the Ray Donovan series!!
One of my fave video from Alanis!😍😍
For some reason this song just never made it here in the US. I remember seeing this video all of one time when the song came out (1999 or 2000, its been a long time) and bought the import CD single of it. This was one of my favorites by her
I looked up this video after I found out Alanis directed it!
What an amazingly fun video. Shes so talented!!!!!
Gods Damn that was beautiful. Now my fave video ever. THIS, this is why I love Alanis so much.
USED TO LOVE THIS VIDEO MAN!!!!...Back in 4th grade, ugh 90s was the greatest!
i loved this video when i was younger . you two had such chemistry ! love it still
Wonderful variety of videos/songs! Thanks for sharing!
So pure preciousness and artistry.
Like mark just said.. epic video.. underrated.. I'm just gonna add ..she looks soooo beautiful.. her smile melts a glaciar.. Omg.. she's a muse..
A brilliant song and video 💃🏻🎶🕺🏼 Pure joy!
Love how she immortalized her back-then boyfriend Dash Mihok.
I liked Alanis ever since I saw her on "You cant do that on television"
So cool! And graceful.
A great video. Thank you for sharing it.
Amo este video, Alanis siempre una inspiración ❤️
love this video soooo much
Brilliant as usual.
2020 and still touched....nice video and great performer both of them....Alanis...we are not worthy of you
A complete artist!
This is truly an underappreciated album, I listened to this so much back in the late 1990's. In some ways I liked it even more than Jagged
Alanis can dance! Yet another reason for me to love her.
Amazing work, the video and the song are great. Thank you for sharing.
Can’t wait for our dance to this Carolyn
This was my favorite video when I was in high school! Simple and just plain FUN!
rythm & lyric!! SO genius:)
Not only the video underrated! Just as a song too! It's so different by Alanis!!! So much beat, so catchy!!! Same like "Tomorrow never knows" by Beatles. They don't have any song like this one.
Masterpiece!🤩 How come that is less than million views?
Hermoso video. Una oda al baile!!!
Love this video! Very creative! Alanis looks beautiful in this one!
Very good video and very beautiful song!!!! I love this song!!!! Thank you very much!!!!
Conterrâneos, quero dividir com vocês que essa versão "Crazy" da Alanis é envolvente e acrescentou modernidade no som do Seal. Fenomenal!
Genia total hermosas canciones!!!!
I love this video. A lot.
Love it..my favorite
Love this clip/song!!!
