If this world is wearing thin
And you're thinking of escape
I'll go anywhere with you
Just wrap me up in chains
But if you try to go out alone
Don't think I'll understand
(Stay) Stay with me
Stay with me
In the silence of your room
In the darkness of your dreams
You must only think of me
There can be no in-betweens
When your pride is on the floor
I'll make you beg for more
(Stay) Stay with me
Stay with me
You'd better hope and pray
That you make it safe back to your own world
You'd better hope and pray
That you wake one day in your own world
'Cuz when you sleep at night
They don't hear your cries in your own world
Only time will tell
If you can break the spell back in your own world
(Stay) Stay with me
(Stay) Stay with me
(Stay) Stay, stay with me ahh-haaa
(Stay) Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay
(Stay)

Listening right now,got things running thru my head
Listening to it right now my grandads funeral was today 😢 x love this song
Yes
Thay did good back then!😪
34 years on and its still so original. There no song like it.
It blow my friends from the younger generation off the chair everytime I show it to them.
I am glad that one of my favorite songs of all time is getting the attention it deserves, thanks Ghost, for bringing these incomparably talented ladies back into the spotlight! ❤️🦇
Yes yes yes!!! I got super excited to learn Ghost gave it the wonderful metal treatment it deserves. ❤❤❤
And Patric Wilson who is a phenomenal vocalist
Now Ghost (and Patrick Wilson!) need to remake this amazing video. They'd do an incredible job of it, too. Maybe as a wink and nod one of the Ghouls or Ghoulettes could play the "dying lover" part out of costume?
Absolutely. I'm a massive Ghost fan and I didn't think their take brought it justice on my first listen. It has since grown on me but you can't really beat it when the original is one of my favourite songs.
I loved this song when it came out and finding out Ghost & Patrick Wilson made a cover made me so happy. It was just what i needed
When death enters and the song/video take a very dark turn, it's so haunting and beautiful.
🙏✌️🇦🇺
Even today, 30 years later, this is still a beautiful song.
Exactly
Yes 😊
No
YES!!! Every dang time it makes me cry from 17-46(present). So blessed to have had this in my deep teen years though
Yes so true
The woman who's the incorporation of death in this song is pure genius...her voice range, how she plays with it, the expressions, even when she gave up at the end and looked so fond of those love-sick fools....it's a masterpiece.
😊It’s the best part of the song . I remember when I first heard this on radio lol 😂
And then she raises HER eyebrows at the lover's overacting, after having done 30 seconds of extravagant, completely over the top overacting of her own. The whole thing is so much fun.
Shioban, Exfrau von Dave Stewart. Das Video ist richtig richtig gut ❤
Fun fact: She was hammered on vodka for the filming of this. They'd spent all day waiting around on set and didn't start filming until like 8pm, so Siobhan spent all day drinking vodka while they waited.
Keeps me coming back.
Grateful to Derry Girls for introducing me to this song!
OK, the vocals are incredible. But "Death" is so deliriously bat-shot insane, she's awesome.
Without her, this song would be a good, love song. With her, it's masterpiece.
i met someone like that. exactly. the deep impression is exactly like that. she even looked like this woman. it s something else. i would not say awesome.
@@eucariote79 Why wouldn't that be awesome?

Check the VH-1 Pop-Up Video for this video. Siobhan admitted that she was drunk while filming this entire video.
My father passed away in cancer in November this year. This song was played after my eulogy at the funeral, by my request. I know my dad liked this song and so do I. This song will always make me think about my dad and how much I miss him.
I lost over recent years a whole part of my family to cancer...stay strong, look forward, the pain will always be a part of you, but it will get weaker and weaker over the years, when you realize that a live with this would be more burden to them in their live as it is to you to lose them at one point. they are free now, no more pain, so more sucrifies as so on... i put to much of my own in the recent 30 years do to cancer an parkinson and such to mind on ... they will be always and in a my lifetime in my memories, they life there now. the pain will go, the memories do not, but you just keep them alive, in your head ... let loose of your pain and remember them as they where ...

I can't get over Siobhan. She really makes this video with her expressions and movement.

GLAD FOR YOU BOTH NATHAN.
Good for you kidda
When Siobhan, with her beautiful smile, descends the stairs is my favorite moment. The look of crazy and confidence that she is going to take his soul gives me shivers every time.
The look of crazy is because she was smashed off her box, she drank a lot of vodka and had some herbal inspiration, the whole shoot was gonna be canned, but the director loved her facial expressions, hence why there's a lot of jump cuts when siobhan is on camera, never more than a few seconds of her on film at a time, makes a great video though

Same. The fact Ghost is doing 2 versions of Stay makes it twice as nice. The duet one with Patrick Wilson for Insidious end credits and one all Tobias for the Impera box set!

Imo she makes the video. Her facial expressions are priceless.
The fact she was actually drunk at The time too, Shows what great acting it can be in the end!!

Death ALWAYS wins in the end, she's got a perfect record.
Finally the kids are waking up to this masterpiece. To me: best song AND video ever!
My22 year old only son got stabbed in the middle of his brain two times at Boston Pizza in Prince Albert Saskatchewan. I got the call from the hospital and rush to be by his side. I fell to the ground and sang him this song everyday till he finally woke up out of the coma. The surgeons who performed 3 surgeries told he there is no explanation how he survived. I knew it was my love and prayers from many who love him. Today he is totally fine. ❤
Medicine is more than just pills and potions. Looking after the head and heart is just as important. Glad he's doing well.
Deo Gratias. Sounds like a miracle and I am pleased to read this.
That's truly wonderful and miraculous. Boston Pizza, eh? Ours here in Winnipeg don't usually get quite that lively, even in the lounge part.

I was declared clinically dead twice before I turned 21. I decided after the 2nd time that drugs weren't my friends. This song reminds me that there must have been an angel holding my hand to bring me back. The OD's happened in the late 70's. I have been drug free since and thankfully so.

How can anyone beat this beautiful classic
This is not only a great song, but also an amazing video. Most of the singers from the 80s and 90s were true artists. They could sing and act. Two things that you rarely see in today’s music industry. This is the golden era of the video music.

When my Dad was in hospital he was upset with tubes in his throat and I heard him say to Mum that he'd had enough, he'd had a lovely life with her, but he wanted to stop. The only time I heard Mum swear was when she told him "Don't you bloody dare". And the line here "But if you try to go on alone, don't think I'll understand" is that in song. I love the bit near the end when 'Death' simply rolls her eyes and walks off.
I grew up with this. As a kid I had no idea that is the best time of my life.
It probably wasn’t. I mean, how we judge the quality of our life is less about what actually happens, and more about the way we experience that time.
It’s as if experiences in our childhood and youth are more intense, for better or worse.
Don't listen to Nadine, I mean everyone's best time in life is relative to them, the great thing about music, is that it could have been the best time of your life, and when you listen to it, you feel that way all over again.
