That's because thrifting is basically an art form. You have to have super niche knowledge on a variety of things. Describing what goes into it wouldn't even begin to fit into a YT short.
It's one that involves the most skill so it is hard to say too much about it in a few seconds. I flip stuff like this but I stick to buying and selling what I know. @@presterjohn71 It's just really weird. I took a stab at it about a decade ago with denim. I found out the popular brands, how to spot the fakes, etc. Never was able to unload them on eBay. Thrift store flipping is often a shameless practice. In my area, the inventory of most thrift stores is supplied by donations. Its a great deal for everyone involved. The person donating gets a tax write off, the thrift store has product to sell, consumers get products that they may not be able to otherwise afford, and a portion of profits are assigned to charities. This isn't always the case. Some "Thrift Stores" behave more as pawn shops and these stores, I believe, are different because they operate within capitalism as opposed to despite capitalism. It is this distinction that separates thrift stores from pawn shops. Buying something from a pawn shop for less tham what its worth is often times the name of the game, and at the expense of the shopkeeper. Buying something from a thrift store, with the intent resell for a profit, steals opportunity from consumers, and breaks the social contract of what a thrift store is... Maybe that's why I don't see as many of them.
It’s pretty clear that you have absolutely no idea what the Sam hell you’re talking about so please just shut up and stop misinforming people. Thrift stores accept donations from people which they then sell to whoever wants to buy them, and the proceeds from the sale support charities. That is how they work. I would go into my local thrift (which is a clear outlier mind you) and head straight for electronics, spend maybe 10-15 minutes there and then go back to work I lost a bit of lunch (thrift opens 13 once per week, my lunch was 12:30-13:30, would eat snack in queue) but generally found electronics worth orders of magnitude above the price tag. I like how you were very transparent with the income you earned from your side hustles. I respect the honesty and the fact that you didn’t try to persuade your audience for maximum views. Great video 👏🏾
So what do you do with that stuff? Throw it away? How do you know for certain that something you donate will be bought by "people like him" and not someone that actually needs that item? It's not. You're just unaware of how much waste this country produces. Go to a goodwill outlet world and tell me there isn't more than enough for everyone. Meanwhile your fav big box store is destroying last seasons clothing on purpose to create a fake demand.
If the person doing it was in a truly awful financial situation, I'd say it's fine. If that income is going towards things they or their family need and it's a short term thing, that's ok.
@@jacobp.2024 thrift stores are for the less fortunate, they can't afford new clothes, new toys, new electronics, new appliances, etc. If you are flipping at a thrift store you are a piece of garbage

Thrift stores do not exist to sell cheap garbage to poor people. Thrift stores, accept donations from people who have things they no longer need, and anything that is sellable they will happily sell to whoever comes in and buys it. The proceeds go to support charities. I would really love to know where the brain dead nonsense came from that claim to three stores were exclusively for the use of the poor. In fact, if those with money stop shopping at them, the charities the thrift store supports will go out of business. So great job! If enough people believe this lie maybe the poor will have even less.

Thrift stores are now getting pretty aware of resalers, and that some of their inventory is actually valuable. I remember I bought a set of GTA games for the PS2 in near mint condition for like $10. It did kinda feel scummy buying a $20+ game for $3. USD dollars btw.

Seems to have forgotten fuel and time, especially to do the second hand store flipping. A lot of time searching and driving to different stores.
Thrift flipping makes sense to be 9/10 because you need to live in a first world country to take advantage of it so you're eliminating competition.
Wait, thrift stores don't exist in non first-world countries?

People like you are exactly why I try not to donate to thrift stores anymore.💯
One man's trash is literally another man's treasure pal
So what do you do with that stuff? Throw it away? How do you know for certain that something you donate will be bought by "people like him" and not someone that actually needs that item? Also, who says that the people in need can't also use this method to obtain money? Will that still be ethically wrong?
@@TheWanderstar Friends, family or I'll throw it out. Except for my boys stuff they grow out of or toys they don't want anymore. I'll donate it to Toys 4 Tots, even with tools like this guy out there I still try to help kids.👍

Clothing brand is better, if you're from south asia where there is ton of cotton and almost free
You buy them process them make clothes out of it, print things on clients orders and sell that in dollars, easy big cash, only thing you need is how to market
The best side hustle is doing assignments for uni students.. u can use chatgpt and quill bot ... and u get paid really gud... make sure to ask gpt the right qns and use ur logic... at 1st I just had one guy.. I asked him for lower price in return of brining me more ppl and soon I managed to get literal 10s of ppl every 2 days and each project is finished it just mere 1 to 2 hr .. the word limits like 6000 avg.. still lmao
I do this and I use chat gpt but how do I get US clients?
If you know how, car flipping can be really worthwhile, most of the time you just have to wipe the interior
Also known as curb-stoning, you will get in serious trouble as an unlicensed dealer if you do this for a living. Most states have laws against it.

A while ago my cousin started selling shirts that he had designed himself at 14yo. In ~2 months he has made over $5000.
its crazy because i watched throughout all of these
Is that crazy?
Thrift store flipping is so fucked up
It's not. You're just unaware of how much waste this country produces. Go to a goodwill outlet world and tell me there isn't more than enough for everyone. Meanwhile your fav big box store is destroying last seasons clothing on purpose to create a fake demand.
Yup
If the person doing it was in a truly awful financial situation, I'd say it's fine. If that income is going towards things they or their family need and it's a short term thing, that's ok.

You realize people go to thrift stores because they can't afford clothes, right?
@@MelesseMansur 😂 Since when? A thrift store is definitely not the same as a charity shop. You realize some don’t even sell clothes, right? 🙄
@@happymack6605 what we call a thrift store here is what you call a charity shop. What you call a thrift store is what we call a pawn shop.
Language aside, thrift stores are a way for charities to generate revenue. This endless lie that keeps getting perpetuated by the TikTok generation, that thrift stores are somehow exclusively for the use of the poor, as if they are soup kitchens or something, is going to wind up putting the charities out of business.

Thrift store flipping is scummy, taking away stuff from less fortunate people who could use it
Thrift stores do not exist to sell cheap garbage to poor people.
Christian clothing brand is amazing! God bless you bro 💚
I worked at a print on demand tshirt shop and fulfilled those orders. The whole time I was doing it (3 years) I was thinking to myself… I’m on the wrong side of this business….
That’s why I check who’s the seller to know that if someone is marginalizing off of Gods word to get rich

all thrift store flippers are irredemably evil
"I tried 5 side hustles in 1 year, and the one that paid off best was making youtube videos about side hustles"
Thrift stores are now getting pretty aware of resalers, and that some of their inventory is actually valuable. I remember I bought a set of GTA games for the PS2 in near mint condition for like $10. It did kinda feel scummy buying a $20+ game for $3. USD dollars btw.
