    Probably what most of us thought the 50:1 results would be. I’d prefer to see a lil more oil on the bottom end. Looking forward to the 40:1 results. Thanks again.

      Yep, i think 50:1 is beating a dead horse at this point but i just want to see what tests best at a warranty approved level.

    Schaeffer's makes some terrific oil. I'm not sure oh the 2 stroke oil but in heavy equipment final drives it is the best. We were getting almost twice the life out of the final drives than the manufacturer oil. Go figure. It's pricey but the best gear oil I've ever seen.

      If you run 32:1 on the Scheaffers 7000 it is excellent. Only reason for testing the 9000 at 50:1 was to show how it hangs at a OEM specified level. Tomorrow i try it at 40:1 and Honda HP2 at 40:1 as long as the gear head holds up on the trimmer.

      The 9000 costs far more than the 7000. the last 7000 I purchased worked out to 29 cents per ounce. At 32:1 that‘s about $1.20 oil cost per gallon.

    40:1 is the magic number for me. Great Video.

    Just shows how good an oil has to be to perform well at 50:1. Schaeffers makes amazing products across the board and this is just adequate. Edit: I look forward to seeing how it does at 40:1. It should look like a champ.

    Just any JASO FD oil mixed 2% (4,9L of fuel 0,1L of oil) is perfect mix. Too much oil will smoke, clog the exhaust, create sludge in crank case, too little oil will cause wear.
    This crank case looks perfect...

    👍🆙SD, I remember watching one of the videos on oil mix ratios and how it affects running temps. In his experiment, 50:1 ran the coolest, more oil the temp went up

      Oil makes more power. There's plenty of studies with dyno sheets to prove it. I run 32:1.

    • @Super-Dave-Outdoors
      @Super-Dave-Outdoors  7 місяців тому +1

      I'll see how it goes, videos will probably get streamlined as i get the process ironed out. Dang trimmer ran an hour at WOT on 400ml of fuel.

      Not here to prove or disprove anything. This is just notes based on what i see and can measure because i find it interesting.
      Different chemistries of different oils will yield different results when burned. Some require different carb tuning or timing adjustments based on effect of the burn rate and energy contained in the oil.
      If it is as simple as more oil makes more power then why mix it at all??

    • @calebcrockett1085
      @calebcrockett1085 7 місяців тому +2

      More oil allows you to run leaner but still have the proper lubrication in the crankcase. Running leaner making more power, running leaner also raises temps in the combustion chamber and exhaust ensuring a more complete burn.

    Hotsaws 101 has a UA-cam video I’d like for you to consider: 2-Cycle Mix Oil, Super Brief Overview & My Preference
    That’s where I got my current mix of Motul 800R 50:1 with one ounce of Turbo 108 Super Octane per gallon of ethanol free gas.
    Bel-Ray is the supposed combo if you’re not ‘rodded’ out on your 2-cycle equipment, and want a detergent package I think.

      I have watched the hotsaws video and probably all of the other well put together 2 stroke oil comparisons on youtube. I do have the Motul 800 and the Bel-Ray HR1. Both of them are great lubricants and i have run both in my personal equipment. I haven't encountered a need for an octane booster yet so i dont run one.

    • @AnonbinArymouse
      @AnonbinArymouse Місяць тому

      @@Super-Dave-Outdoors Thank you for the response. I certainly don’t need the octane booster, I’m a weekend warrior at best when it comes to this. I ‘feel’ like there is a slight difference using the octane booster compared to my previous Husqvarna and non-ethanol fuel mix I used. I’m sure if there is a real difference, it is on the 1 to 3% range only. But I’ll take any nominal boost I can get.

    Looks average to me in the lube department at 50:1 and seems to burn fairly clean👍🏻 does that 225 have a catted or non cat muffler?

    Just 8200RPM full throttle???
    That's junk.
    My Stihl FS120 tops at 12 300...

    • @Super-Dave-Outdoors
      @Super-Dave-Outdoors  7 місяців тому +2

      A 200$ trimmer and a 400$ trimmer should be drastically different from each other.
      Factory Spec on this unit is around 8500RPM so 8200 and some change isnt bad considering it was pulled from the junk pile.

  • @REDLINERUNNER

    Your temperature probe is junk. Jumps from 450°F to 630°F in just few seconds and drops back down..

    • @Super-Dave-Outdoors
      @Super-Dave-Outdoors  7 місяців тому +2

      It is a calibrated Fluke probe, just only reads contact temp accurately so the jumping around is error on my end.
