The Ultralite DD range of fly reels infuses the legendary strength of Hardy fly reel design into an ultra large arbour, lightweight design that is both supremely practical and aesthetically stunning.. Right thats Hardys own spiel out of the way, first WOW what a sexy reel!!!!!!!! and when they say light it is very light but did we say how good it looks !!!!!. Now that's out the way this is a fantastic reel, very well made the entire reel is 6061 bar stock aluminium for strength, durability and lightness. The drag system is a fully sealed disk drag on the DD series which offers a very smooth system stopping overuns when pulling off additional line to cast further and when your playing a larger fish off the reel. Very easy to change from left to right hand wind. The spool can be quickly removed for changing lines and the front release knob is on a captive thread so that it cannot drop off and get lost by the river or bankside. The classic large arbor styling provides good room for plenty of backing and the fly line and this will balance perfectly on most rods. Owned and used by some of our staff, this reel gets a very big thumbs up by us.

I just want to say that I have several from the 4000 to 10,000. caught a trout to tarpon with them and they are better than the 800 reals from other companies

hi, i received a 4000 yesterday but the oil handle post sounds bad, he's new but can i wash it by myself without hurt the warranty ?
