@@nanditarai2061if you see seeds or plants generically labeled as mint it's usually spearmint. Spearmint and peppermint are the two that you will find most in stores
Just came across your videos. I'm new to the gardening scene and am definitely nervous, but your videos are so detailed and helpful, I'm sure I can do it! Please don't stop sharing your videos, you're awesome.
Glad I came across your channel, you make everything look so easy. I need to go back and remove my mint from my planter box and put it in a pot. Good thing I just planted it a couple of days ago.
Glad you like my channel. Not sure what size your planter box is, but usually you should be able grow mint in them too. Growing in pots is better to control the spreading. Happy growing and thank you so much for your comment!
Another great video and one I really appreciated! Few days ago I picked up a free packet of spearmint seeds at the seed library (local library). Ready... set... germinate!😃
I love it. I buy small starter plants of Moroccan mint which is spearmint, I think. When it begins to flower and I pinch out the leaves, I get the dreaded "stiff stem". Am I the only one that hates the "stiff stem"? I have to tell you that your videos mesmerize me. They're great!!! Next year I'll try from seed.
Thank you for sharing. There is something magical about mint and we cannot get enough of them either. Happy gardening and thank you so much for your comment!
Great video! I noticed that my spearmint has white dots covering the leaves. Any thoughts on what might be causing this? Looking for some advice. Thanks!
Most probably the leaves are effected by spider mites, specially if you can notice any tiny webs underside the leaves. Or it can be because of other pests or fungus. The best is to spray neem oil mix on both side of the leaves (1oz of 100% cold pressed neem oil + 1 tsp of dish soap in 1 gallon of room temp.) Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!
You can keep them in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight. Part shade is the best. Yes, seed will most likely germinate in 25C. Happy growing and thank you for visiting!
Sorry for asking , still a beginner when it comes to gardening, does the mint plant have the capability of surviving freezing winters? Planing to move to the rockies in a few years and wanna know if mint would be a good plant to grow there
Yes, mint is generally winter hardy and can survive light frosts. You will need to cut back the plants to the ground before winter. This will make for healthier, more prolific plants the following year. Happy gardening and thank you for visiting!
That's very helpful to know, thank you good sir , I'll make sure to save up the information, keep doing a lovely job providing information and have a wonderful day.
What type of black trays are the ones you use in the video? I would like these specific ones to use for my own planting. Just trying to figure out what to exactly look for
I am re-using containers from grocery and for vegetables That black one is from mushroom container. You can use any tray at least 2" deep and add holes for drainage. Thank you for visiting!
I didn't mean fish water. Fish fertilizer is a consentrate emulsion available in general garden centers. Here is the link on amazon amzn.to/3QwupoY . On my other video I showed how to mix it ua-cam.com/video/ao9ZbWBVRwo/v-deo.htmlsi=Z1wCPXb7Jkv02F8G (toward middle of the video). And if you cannot find fish fertilizer, any water soluble fertilizer high in nitrogen will work too. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting!
Thank you for the advice and happy gardening. Will surely keep it moist maybe with a transparent plastic bag with some holes placed over the opening. Great channel and highly informative 👍
The plastic bag may be good for seed germination, but I don't recommend it for plants. It will increase the chance of fungal disease. That is why it is better to water at soil level. Happy growing!🌱
Yes, the growing process and steps apply to both. Mint seeds are a bit tricky to germinate and grow. The key is to cover seeds very very lightly, they need light to germinate. But give it a few tries and you should be able to get them growing. Happy gardening!
Mint seeds are a bit tricky to germinate and it is much easier if you start them in seed trays. But you can start outdoors too (1-2 weeks after your average last frost date). Thanks for visiting.
The holes on terracotta pots are usually large and soil washes away when watering. I place few pieces of curved rocks or tiles around the draining holes to keep the soil inside and also to stop them clogging up. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting!
Mint seeds are widely available in the US, but I don't know how you can get them in India. I just googled and found few online sources in India: theaffordableorganicstore.com/product/mint-seeds30-seeds/ . Hope you will be able to find them. Thanks and good luck!
I got it from our local garden center. You can find seeds in any garden center or online www.reneesgarden.com/products/spearmint-heirloom-italian . Thanks for visiting.

Nice which fertilizer good for mint plant?
Any fertilizer high in nitrogen is good. I use diluted fish fertilizer (5-1-1) for my herbs. Thank you for visiting.
@TowardGarden 😭😭😭
What if you don’t have fish water what else can you fertilize with?
I didn't mean fish water. Fish fertilizer is a consentrate emulsion available in general garden centers. Here is the link on amazon amzn.to/3QwupoY . Can I just direct sow them into the pot i intend for them be in?
You sure can, but if it is too cold, the seeds may have a hard time to germinate. Happy growing and thank you for visiting!
Can you water in the middle when the soil dries out?and give it a good soak?
Yes, you should keep the soil wet and avoid letting it dry out. Any time of the day is ok. Thank you for visiting!
Thank you for the advice and happy gardening.

Does this video also apply to peppermint plants as well? I’ve been trying to grow some with my kid sister and ours aren’t growing🤣
Yes, the growing process and steps apply to both. Mint seeds are a bit tricky to germinate and grow. The key is to cover seeds very very lightly, they need light to germinate. But give it a few tries and you should be able to get them growing. Happy gardening!
Can I plant the seeds straight in a big pot outdoors?

Why did you cover the hole with Rock how will water go out?
