THANK YOU for bringing up how invasive mint can be! My husband wasn't fully aware and now we have a goal of containers just for mint and other herbs 💛
This dude has become my favorite person on UA-cam, he seems so genuinely nice
my wife planted it in a spot near my greenhouse with basic lawn delimiter and geotextile in the bottom I just trim it once in a wile with the weed eater when it starts to overgrow😆 we use it for tea and cocktails mainly.
Good stuff. Isn’t it time we had a garden tour?😉
Yep, I agree! I’ll make one ASAP :)
We have a huge mint field in our backyard. It was here when we moved in. We are doing raised beds, so not a problem. I want pineapple mint! Sounds so good. 🤯
I had a hanging pot hanging in the roof outside, I put a piece of 5” mint leaf in the pot & watered it every day, it grew 2 weeks later & 🔥🔥
Wow, thank you. I didnt understand why plants around where I had mint were no longer growing well and the soil had become very dense. WOW.
Thanks for mentioning the partial sun thing - we live nextdoor to Northern Italy, Slovenia so we do have cold winters but it gets very hot in the summer and I had the feeling my mint was pretty unhappy with full sun then - this is the first time someone actually mentioned it, and I know Im not juat imagining it. Lots of other useful information too, thanks!! ❤
Thank you, finally getting my new home next week and we have a big garden, been waiting to plant things, one of them is mint as I love making mocktail drinks, but never use all the mint up so it goes wasteful. I did try chopping it up, freezingit but did not work so great to know you can grow but don't grow directly in the garden, better in a pot. So this is my first garden project to do.
This is one of the most educational gardening videos I’ve seen. You hit every point and possible problem
I love mint it give this aroma with nostalgia efect for me
I like mint but highly invasive! Container it. Good job pointing this out!
Yep, that’s exactly the point of the video :)
My new favorite channel
This is so good to know! I love mint. And pretty much everywhere I’ve lived I’ve grown it. I’ve only ever grown the regular mint and chocolate mint. But this year I’m going to look for the varieties you mentioned. Thanks for the knowledge!
❤️💜💚
I have a standard sized bath tub for mint in the garden. Lots of growing space and it can't roam.
A bathtub makes an excellent wicking bed to keep a damp soil. I've also done hugelkultur bathtub beds ☺️
Could you make a video on what you could all do or use with your mint leaves?
Great videos by the way! 👍🏼
Mojitos 😅
I chop and add to new potatoes with a knob of butter.
I love your videos, and your energy.
Top quality video mate
Thank you bro, I appreciate your efforts, will use this information soon isa
I plant it in the ground, cover some runners in the fall let the rabbits eat the rest in the winter, it comes up from the runners.
Very cool! Love it!
Very informative, thank you. 😊
One cutting from a mint, remove the lower leaves, immerse in water and in 3 days it's rooting. I have over a dozen Mint plants from just one store bought live potted Mint.
I also grew Spearmint and Peppermint from seed.
Bravo Alessandro, un bellissimo canale. Complimenti !! 🥳
Grazie Silvia :)
You are my most favorite parasocial person I’ve ever seen !! You are making paths in life and creating new beginnings
Bought a small pot (I think 5 ich) of mint in the supermarket last year and put it in a 10 inch terracotta pot; i'm going to transfer it to al 90 litre cement bucket... so it can thrive!
Love your channel! And your cat is adorable, thanks so much for this. I will be growing some egyptian round mint this year :)
Thank you so much for your feedback! Appreciate it :)
Refreshing video as always, love seeing the amazing care you put in your garden.
I'm gonna try out the cloning method with market bought mint, let's see how it turns out in a little pot.
It would be very helpful if you captioned uncommon words such as the name of the insecticide that was mentioned.
Thank you so much for your feedback! Yes, I’ll make sure to make captions in English and other languages too :)
I grew it from the market bought one and it is growing
Really enjoyed your video here since it is well elaborated with lots of facts.
Can i plant cutting using the younger & more greener stem thru water rooting & also rooting in the soil?
How can you tell when your mint requires water and how much?
Thank you for making this great video Sir,
Yep how to grow mint plant it once stuck with it for life
1:51 Watching from Nepal ❣️ Thank you for sharing 🙏💫🤞
It feels soo weird not seeing him in a short😂
Diatomaceous earth has worked really well for me on predator insects and is very easy to wash off. You should give it a try!
I want to attempt it's use as pesticide inside & out.
I am your big fan , i am from india
Just like the roots of Raspberries…They will take over the whole garden 😳🥴 I didn’t realize there were so many varieties of mint. I currently have spearmint , peppermint and sweet-mint in a small space on my balcony . Hopefully they’ll grow strong enough to hang dry some stems for tea.😊
As expected, my potted mint survived the rough winter and grew back in spring 2024.
Too tough to kill mint!
I recently just discovered your channel and Facebook reels and I love your content. I've been trying to grow my mint from seeds for the past two years (both pepper and spearmint) but every time I do, they don't germinate or grow. I've followed everything carefully but still yield no results. Am I doing something wrong?
I PERSONALLY LOVE LOVE LOVE PINEAPPLE MINT, BUT GINGER MINT IS MY 3RD BACKUP..
I have tried to grow mint for years and it always dies back and never returns, it has never been a runaway plant for me :(
Do you live in a cold climate 🤔 I'm in Ohio and i was wondering when to take a cutting this spring in 2024 when the best time is thanks.
I love your videos! Just found you on the Charles Dowding video! Love him as well! Listen, I can't find banana mint seeds anywhere online, where can I get banana mint seeds? Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much! You can find cuttings online which is much quicker to grow your plant. Check urban herbs in Birmingham 😊
Can you do a video for Coriander
Sure, great idea!
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾
❤
Hi everyone, can anybody share a piece of advice, what pot to buy for mint? Does it have to be deep/high/wide? Thanks in advance
I used to use an old washing up bowl for mint as it can take over the garden if directly planted. We have a lot of wild corriander growing in our garden but not sure if it is safe to eat? I've also seen some cow parsley is that safe to eat?
I’m not really sure about the 2 varieties that you mentioned above but if you are not sure, don’t eat and wait for someone with more experience to confirm :)
Hey, Allesandro, which way is your garden facing?
I think it’s north facing but I get enough sun :)
first of all thank you for the video it genuinly helped a lot but second: why does the chair look like a designer toilet?
My grandmother used to send me out to spray her roses with diluted urine to get rid of aphids!!😂
5:32 What is this big leaved plant behind him? Collard?
Looks like some type of cabbage.
@@zaria5785 It is so beautiful. Look how big the leaves are!
My guess is Collards
It’s purple broccoli :)
💚💚🌿✨💚💚💚
Por favor, subtítulos en español, me gustan sus videos pero entiendo la mitad.
Gracias
I’m working with someone to make all the subtitles in epanol :)
Ho aggiunto la menta cervina al mio roster, te la consiglio (non è infestante come le altre, cresce a cespuglio e rimane lì)
Che bomba! Proverò di sicuro grazie vecchio :)
how to grow strawberry I seem to always fail and the slugs eat all my strawberry?
I grow my strawberry plant in a large hanging basket so the slugs can’t reach it 😊
I get insects on the mint. The leaves are white at the edges
Dude I fucked up, I alredy planted my mint in open soil
Awww that might be an issue in the future if you plant something else’s
Mint and Pluto, Roman mythology. Minthe and Hades. Greek Mythology 🤓

I LOVE GINGER MINT IN SPRINGROLL THOW..JIST SAYING
Nah i LOVE mint. Into the ground it goes!
Okay mint is supposed to be invasive but somehow.. I manage to kill it lol Something/someone was eating and chewing on it?? ugh
Insects. You can't actually kill Mint, as long as the roots are intact it will grow back.
Here are 14 animals that eat mint:
Flea Beetles
Spider Mites
Geometer Moths
Owlet Moths
cutworms
Snails
Slugs
Birds
aphids
leafhoppers
Worms
Insects
vegan pizza with pineapple mint...
Imidacloprid is bad for bees
Yes…it’s a Neonicotinoid pesticide. Really really harmful to bumblebees, bees and other insects (and other wildlife). Avoid at all costs…..it’s really not worth it.
