So I took it upon myself to do so! I hope you guys enjoy! Give this video a thumbs up! (Not sponsored or affiliated with either of these brands in any way, shape, or form.)

Bajio customer support is amazing
I have actually recently become a brand affiliate of theirs! They truly are an awesome brand that wants to do right by their customers. I happen to have met some of the people behind the brand in person, down to earth and passionate about their promise.
This is my link if you’d like to support this channel and the Bajio brand:

Most of the Costa employees lost their jobs in Daytona, they closed up shop. Now some of those employees are working at Bajio.
That I didn’t know! I was told that the people from costa went to Bajio but I didn’t know it was bc Luxottica laid them off!!
@@whippinshiddiesthe guys who created the costa lens technology started Bajío. Bajio started with Costa employees when they got bought out.
@@user-md6st4me8x thank you for the extra information! I have recent become a brand affiliate for Bajio! The only and first company to offer us any sort of “sponsorship” they truly care about their fans and customers 🤙🏼
My personal experience is that Bajio has much better customer service and their warranty is unmatched!
We need more honest reviews like this! Keep up the good work.
Good review & fair.
Here's my take FWIW.
I've fished with pretty much every high-end polarized sunglass since the late 80's. I won't list them all since we all know the brands. Lot's of good ones over the years, in both Poly, and glass. I was looking to try a 'Rose' colored lens since I am color blind and 'heard' that the rose color offers great color separation and contrast. Other than Maui Jim, Bajio was the only company I could find who offered a rose colored polarized lens. My choice was a 'glass' rose lens from Bajio in their 'Nato' frame, as the rose lens from Maui Jim was only offered in poly, and I'm not dropping $250+ on plastic shades anymore.
I am 100% satisified with the Rose Bajio, and it has actually far exceeded my expectations. They are extremely clear as you'd expect, the polarization is top notch, and build quality is excellent. The rose color is actually one of their 'lighter' lenses and I was concerened it may be too light in very bright conditions, but they great in any light condition. Running shallow waters in my skiff, I am able to pick up sand bars, shoals, and rocks very clearly, and sooner. They work excellent in all water colors, and light conditions. Not too bright, not too dark.
The rose Bajio color separation and contrast is the best I've ever experienced so far. One thing I REALLY enjoy about the rose color over an 'amber', or 'copper' lens is that you get the contrast and pop without everything looking 'smoggy', or that yellow/dirty look. The rose is a very 'pleasing' color to look through and actual colors are more accurate. Yes, I know I'm color blind, but I've learned over time what colors I'm looking at on the water.
So if anyone is considering a Rose colored lens, I can highly recommend Bajio. The only thing may be if that your are extremely sensitive, and I mean EXTREMELY sensitive, to bright sun, . . . the rose color is indeed one of their lighter lenses., so you may want to keep that in mind . . but it doesn't give you that harsh yellow, copper, amber POW, if you catch my drift.
Not affilitaed with Bajio in anyway, I'm just a sunglass dork.
Hope this helps.
From one sunglass dork to another 🫡 well said my good sir. I enjoyed reading your comment. Very thorough with your explanation too. Hope you enjoy those sunglasses for years to come!
I switched to Bajio's after finding talking to some reps at a boat show over a year ago. I agree, it may be hard to "see" a difference. One thing I have noticed after wearing them practically every day with many days being on the water, is that they haven't scratched.... and I'm not overly careful with them. My Costas that they replaced (and all my previous Costas it seems) had scratched. I did opt for the glass lenses since Bajio informed me they were more scratch resistant. They may be a bit heavier and more expensive, but to not have scratched, I'm impressed! Hoping to get a second pair of Bajio's soon ;)
Nice man! I like mine a lot too! Thanks for sharing your opinion 🤙🏼
Nice review. I've always liked Costa but felt like they aren't as personal, and the warranty isn't as good as it used to be when it was a local Daytona company.
They used to be more helpful and friendlier when it came to warranty work! Now, not so much.
Since they got bought out, all my newer Costas have been falling apart. Quality and warenty isn't there anymore. I'll be buying Bajio for now on.
I too believe their quality has dropped off. The best thing they have going for them is that their blue lens tech is still one of the better ones out there but bajio’s overall quality (including customer service) is surpassing that of the shell of costa luxottica now owns.
I would normally choose costa anyday over any other brand. But after this video, I may consider Bajio!
Bajio was founded by the person who founded Costa.
I now own 4 pairs of Bajois so glad i switched from costas!!! Costas warranty and technology isnt there anymore
Their customer service definitely is not the same as it once was. I still own a couple pairs of costas but I’m definitely only planning on purchasing Bajio from now on.
I am also a long time costa fan!
I’ve found that the quality of costa has diminished drastically since Luxottica bought them out. Customer service is nonexistent as well… I like that Bajio is a Florida based company owned by Americans. That’s why I always wore costas, I’ve been looking for a replacement for years and I think I finally found it.
I’m working on doing a comparison of costa over the years!! You couldn’t be more correct my friend. Since luxottica buy out the quality of the finished product has changed. I’ve bought a pair just in the last week the came with scratches on the frame from the distributor directly!!
they're alot of the same folks from Costa, now working at Bajio.
Oakley has great polarized ones to
Might be some worth looking into! I haven’t personally looked at their products in a while.
Only if you like plastic lenses
Was the lens plastic or glass in the Bajios?
Glass! Ive had issues with polymer(plastic) lens in the past scratching just by cleaning them even when rinsed with water so I only trust Glass lens. However there is a part 2 coming soon!! Now that I’ve actually had a chance to wear my bajios over a period of time and compare them day in and day out to the costas. Overall I trust bajio’s customer service more than I’ll ever trust costas.
Bajio by far. I know I have both.
I just recently became an affiliate marketer for them! They sent me a link to their site that tracks all sales made through the link and they give us 8% truly a brand that gives back to their supporters and fans.
Here’s my link if you want to help us out!🤙🏼 we’re giving away a free performance hat to the first 5 people that order a pair through our link:

What’s price difference? I wear Costas
That particular bajio frame retailed for $250 plus tax and costas are about $273 roughly before tax.
Costa is owned by luxxotica, easy pick is bajio
We actually just reached out to Bajio and they asked me to apply for an affiliate program! Super stoked to be working with them!
Costa customer service is trash now. I'm done with them. If the bajios are good enough that you can't tell a difference, I'm willing to give them my money.
They are very very close. I almost prefer bajios sometimes. I do love the comfort and fit of my costas. But the Lens quality of the Bajio is right up there with them!!
@@whippinshiddies I love the Costa permits. I've worn them for years. I have 4 broken pair now that they've refused to repair. They just offer a discount on a new pair.
@@bigdunford I too have similar experience with them after trying to return a pair I had purchased for my father from their website! They still never even contacted me back about returning to repair. Back in the day I had returned numerous pairs for either cracked lens or damaged frames. But ever since they sold out it seems the customer service just isn’t there.
@@whippinshiddies that's exactly why I'm researching new brands.
