- Costa Paunch XL Sunglasses - Very Stylish and Good Looking
The new Costa Paunch XL Sunglasses have become my favorite pair of Costa shades, yet! Previously, I was all about the Spearo XL, and would be if it were not for the new Paunch XL sunglasses. They have the same size lenes, 1mm wider nose and are slightly lighter than the Spearo XL.
The 580G polarized lenses are pretty hard to beat too :)

Just picked these up based on your recommendation. You are right great sunglasses. Best I have ever owned.
YES!! So stoked you are loving them. Thanks for the nice note. Enjoy the shades!
I just wish these lens were a little bit darker. I can see through from the front.
I just got these, coming from Rincons. I’ve got a huge head (7-5/8) so I definitely wanted a larger pair of sunglasses. That said, these fit lower on my nose compared to my old Rincons and the frame slightly touches my cheek close to my nose area. Would this be considered normal? Or did I make a mistake on the fit? Thanks for the review.
Does a size M in the costa Paunch XL makes a difference for a bigger size head?
Hello, I want this exact pair with glass lens but grey instead of blue. Unfortunately they don’t seem to make these. Should I go with blue glass or grey poly?
Tuff call! I have both. I love the blue glass for 90% of what I do. But if I am hiking I go with poly.
This may definitely not be an amazing observation on my part, but here it goes: with Costa's [as well as other brands that make similar style of sunglasses] i am hard pressed to see any noticeable difference between the older and newer models. Maybe it's just me but, honestly, these look all just the same. Besides, you know i tend to steer clear of brands that are owned by the big Lux conglomerate and favor the independent makers as much as possible. As far as optics are concerned, i reckon you should give a shot at both Serengeti and Revo which have not been covered yet on Engearment, somehow inexplicably.
Regardless, always a great review Sean ;-)
Hello Wadsworth! I always appreciate your insights.
I have still not had a good lead on Serengeti and Revo, which stinks. I want to try those too!
Take care!
Great review Sean!! Do you think the Paunch XL would be redundant to the Lido or Oakley Holbrook XL?
@@damionberv5074 Hello Damion! Thanks for the stoke! Man, that is a good question. I have been using the Lido with grey 580G and this Paunch XL the last few weeks. Love both of them. If you want a good looking stylish shade - Paunch. If you want all that and some side protection and a little more grip - Lido. Hope that helps!
These look great, I may try them! No link?
Thank you for the heads up, I missed that! They are good looking shades for sure! 😎
I’m so confused why they call it the XL but it’s a size Medium…. But they also make this in an XL size lol
XL is the lense coverage. Medium is the frame size. Hope that helps!
Hey Sean, great review, quick question about sizing, what made you go with the XL version? They make them on XL
I believe? Just curious if you looked at the other option. I am torn between the lido and the paunch, but just worried they may be to big? Thoughts? Thanks
Joe
Hey Joe! I rotate between the paunch xl and Lido each day. The paunch looks great the lido does as well but had a bit more side coverage.
@@Engearment hey man, thanks for the response, one more question if you were looking for an every day
Pair of sunglasses to wear of those two what would it be? And one more question I watched your review on the Santiago how did you like those sunglasses? I tend to like those as well
@@joesilverio2525 paunch xl. They work well and look great!
