I think you mistakenly taken 0.043 as negative and 0.057 as positive because in code it says opposite in that table please check and tell thank you 11:52
i have watched lots of video about slab design, but the way u taught me i totally loved it. Thank u so much sir. Just i have one doubt about the effective depth(d), i.e why dont u consider dx and dy in the time of calculating astx and asty as u r providing reinforcement in both the direction(x,y)?
My duobt is if there is one way slab next to two way slab and the longer direction of both the slab is in same direction so longer side of two slab is considered as continuous or not?? Main point is we don't provide bentup bar in one way longer direction so will I continue the bar of longer direction of two slab into the one way slab as case define above if yes we need to provide distribution for bentup bar which was continuoued into the slab??
please upload raft foundation, water tanks, beams and retaining wall. for the first time i feel i am finally understanding..thank you so much for this. these are all the topics in my sem ddrcs.
Sir thank you for uploading this video I have Learned so much knowledge from this video and I have a doubt that if a slab is supported between two cantilever beams then the particular slab considered as which slab cantilever slab R one way slab which having the dimensions as 1x3
Sir in your previous video from 2017 on design of two way simply supported slabs, when you calculated My value you used a different effective depth i.e. you took into consideration the steel dia. in Y- direction. But here you took same d value for both Mx and My. Please clear this doubt!!
I hope someone sees this and reply me... Do you consider continuous and discontinuous property for one way slabs too?? Or it's just for two way slabs it's considered
Bro I loved your explanation....but I have a doubt ...the slab has cantilever projections on 2 sides .how that sides are considered?..will they comes under continuous ..please give reply bro....love from ap🤗
If they have beams under it. It won't be considered as cantilever slab. Best example of a cantilever slab is a chajja over window which is free standing supported at the beam. Hope you understood? thanks for watching keep supporting.
@@EverythingCivil cantilever projection slab have the beams projected under it. You have said that it will not be considered as cantilever slab...then this projection comes under which slab
Hi , Nice work there brother thanks a lot first of all. Coming to query , can you please make a video for slabs and beams for detailings of simply supported and continuous patterns as per IS 34 and IS 64 for calculation of top and bottom steel and in mid spans or so. like L/3, L/4 lengths to be provided.
Slabs are always designed considering the shorter span because it has more chances of failing on the shorter edge. The coefficients that you see in Table 26 is for x and y direction. Even the though you are taking lx for calculating My the coefficient Alpha y gives you the moment My
I have seen one video from technical civil for one way slabs .... What he did was calculated Ast bottom(centre) and Ast top (supports)... Now while providing Ast top he says 50% is coming from Ast bottom ... Thus actual Ast top to b provided is = (Ast top reqd. - 50% Ast bottom) Can this be applied for 2 way slabs too?
Wooow I've never seen such an amazing explanation like this, bro u have god gifted talent keep going ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Yes. Even I observed that. Plz correct the same

Depth of slab will be uniform in both the direction
what is the formula is used to calculate the slab load transferred in long span&short span(in two way slabs)
Thank you so much.. Would be really useful if u post videos like these on every structural members in limit state design... 😁😁
Yes do let me know on which ones.

Sir in this video you took ast min because it is max but if Ast is grater than ast min then which value we will take?
14:00 as we increase the value of mf then effective depth will be less.. Should we decrease the mf value??
Sir if one short edge is discontinue and 3edges continues then which case should apply ?please reply
thank you for making such type of videos i really appreciate your work it helps me to pass in DDRCS subject once again very thanks
In Ast we must take the effective depths for two directions to be different.
which condition is use for one short edge discontinuous
please tell me sir
The formula that you have used for calculating area of steel. Is it is listed on the code book or did you simplify a formula?
It's not in the is code. It is simplified.
please upload raft foundation, water tanks, beams and retaining wall. for the first time i feel i am finally understanding..thank you so much for this. these are all the topics in my sem ddrcs.
if shorter span (S1) less than 3.5 ,l/d=32 for continuous slab right??
If the slab is square how to identify the edge conditions ???answer please
Square as in ? A square slab is a two way slab.
why did you fix your steel to 10mm dia. you could go lower?
Yes u can
What about different ast positive and ast negative in x and y direction u just consider ast-x ast -y

Yes ofcourse that's why I calculated negative moment at that edge as u must have in the seen problem.

@Everything civil
In some cases ..slab is projected out around the building ..what will we call that projection..if it is not a cantilever slab
Why are we choosing case 8 and not case 2 for this sum?
Also why didn't you take case 2 it also says one short edge continues
can i use solid slab system for long span (6.5m)?

Box type I don't understand can u elaborate pls?
Modification factor ..kaise nikale...limit state method..me..
How u r taking M.F ??
Do you design consultancy
no
Why we take lx for both moment....
Because the the coefficient (alpha) is derived for x and y direction. The alpha y coefficient converts Lx into Ly to give moment My
Everything Civil elaborate please... Not getting your point bro
Slabs are always designed considering the shorter span because it has more chances of failing on the shorter edge. The coefficients that you see in Table 26 is for x and y direction. Even the though you are taking lx for calculating My the coefficient Alpha y gives you the moment My
Everything Civil yeah that is what I wanted to know

how to decide modification factor
its all rational. higher the MF means more steel you are providing and hence your section will be safe and will have smaller cross section.
