What I do is once I have the finished product edited I send my guest a copy to listen to and ask if they are happy for me to publish and give them a release date so they can promote for me. It’s worked so far.
I completely understand where you're coming from with this I recently had a guest on my podcast very first episode. 2 hour interview and right after not even 20 minutes after the interview the guests said please scrap. I guess could have stopped the interview at any time that they wanted to but she decided to scrap it right after the interview pretty much wasting all of my time. Granite she did pay me to not are it ever but I believe that I should have legal document going forward with some of my interviewers so this does not happen again.
Great topic. I would assume most podcasters or people who start up a business go into things as being more optimistic that “who’d sue me”. This is kind of like prenups.

How about some specifics on the "Fair Use Doctrine." In particular, how to use quotes/sound bites/video bytes/graphics smartly, so lawyers can clearly sort out a dispute and clearly make a decision that is clearly defensible is a court.
