    Sounds great, although my neighbors might not appreciate it at 6am when I leave in the morning 🙂. However, your tempting me. Thank you for another amazing video. Maybe, if you are able please video the next time you remove the front plastics. It would be very helpful. I am trying to install an engine guard on my kpr and I'm having some difficulty removing the front plastics.

      Thank you! The exhaust is louder than stock but it's really not that bad, I like it. Check out this video, I detail taking the plastics off; ua-cam.com/video/I0kcUfBqIgA/v-deo.html

    Great video; pipe looks awesome. I put the same pipe on my KPM 200. I didn't need to put spacers on the header bolts like I have seen others need, but I think I may have figured out why. My exhaust came with a new exhaust gasket. It looks like a washer that is mangled up on the faces. Forgive me if I just over looked it, but I did not see you put in a new exhaust gasket. I noticed that same omission from other people who installed this exhaust but said they needed either spacers or open-ended nuts. One problem I do have with mine, though, is the mount on the mid-pipe doesn't seem to line up to anything on the bike frame, so right now mine is only mounted at the header and the muffler. I'm thinking about fabricating a bracket that will reach to one of my frame bolts. Thanks for the vid, Herbie! It along with all your others on the little KP bike are invaluable!

      Thank you, Jason! You are right, I didn't put a new gasket in, I have reused the old gaskets before without leakage and I think it will be fine. Thanks for the comments! 👍

      Also, the head pipe will slide inside of the mid pipe quite a way so you can maneuver the mid pipe quite a bit. Maybe try loosening the clamp some more until you can move the mid pipe into position.

      I noticed quite a bit of improvement over stock. The open exhaust does lean it out a little, the only issue I noticed so far is that it stumbles a little bit when cold but when fully warmed up it runs perfect. It doesn't seem to hurt anything being lean, never had any negative issues. I may try going back to the stock configuration on the intake breather. But I am happy with it the way that it is. My MPG has actually gone up pretty good as well. Good luck with it, It's a pretty easy install.

      Did you have any issues with the exhaust pipe and header getting too warm? Installed mine today and let it run for a couple of minutes. Revved it a bit and the pipe right after the engine output was like 330f.

      @herbiesgarage681  Рік тому

      @@killerz3000 330f coming right out of the head doesn't sound too hot to me. I'm no expert on the subject but a quick search said that an average temp is between 300-900f. Did the install go good for you?

      @killerz3000 Рік тому

      @@herbiesgarage681 so far so good. Did you adjust your valves after changing it? My engine seems to be running a bit more hot now

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Рік тому

      @@killerz3000 I didn't adjust the valves right away, but I keep up on that part of maintenance pretty good. The exhaust will lean out the mixture causing it to run a little hotter, hopefully the ecu will compensate for it and correct the lean condition enough. The only thing I have noticed is a little hesitation while cold, once it warms up that is gone. I am going to play around with the air filter intake next year when I can ride again and see if reducing the air flow will take care of that. I have the snorkel removed which allows more airflow, my thought is if I return it to stock it may cause it to richen up slightly. But I want to see its effect on performance, I'm not overly concerned on the way that it runs now, because it runs great as is and I don't believe it's too hot or anything. I just like fine tuning it to make sure it's running at 100 percent efficiency.

    Does the bike seem to run any leaner or richer with this exhaust installed? And is your intake still stock, or have you taken out the snorkel piece?

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Рік тому +1

      Hello Ryan, I thought that the bike was running a little richer but my gas mileage went up so I guess it’s running a little leaner. I haven’t noticed it ever getting hot though. I removed the snorkel and rubber that covers the box. I have an iridium spark plug also.

    What size impact guns are you using and do I need an impact socket set if I'm working on the bike?

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Рік тому

      The impact guns are 1/4 and 3/8 impact that I used on the exhaust. No, you don't need impact sockets, although they are nice to have around. you can never have too many tools.😂

    Curious did you ever wrap the exhaust ?

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Рік тому

      No I never did, I have done it before on my stock exhaust on the KPR 200 and I liked it. I may still do it, if I do, I’ll be sure and do a video on it.

    • @lilkash2
      @lilkash2 Рік тому +1

      Would the 02 sensor be affected by the wrap in anyway ?

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Рік тому +1

      @@lilkash2 I don’t believe that it would affect the o2 sensor at all. I did wrap the stock exhaust and the bike ran great. The best reason from a performance standpoint of wrapping the exhaust is that the wrap will keep the heat inside the pipe thus creating a better movement of exhaust gases

      @herbiesgarage681  Рік тому +1

      Hello, if you can afford the whole exhaust system then that would be best. You can just put the muffler on to your exhaust pipe but may need to fabricate it a little bit.

    You have a lot of videos on this bike. You ever open the area of the bike where the seat lock is? Mine broke and I can’t figure out how to get it open.

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Рік тому +1

      Hello Eyboss, I have not had to get to the seat lock area. I know it looks pretty difficult but I'm sure it can be done. This is just a guess at this point, but you would probably have to remove all the side plastic on one side along with the rear taillight to access the lock. If you really don't think it's something you feel comfortable doing hit me back up and I may do it for you on a video.
