I've known Bill and Shakatak personally for quite a few years (they are lovely people and really good fun to be with); the song was written several years before the Strange Charm album but Bill adapted it to be conducive to Gary's needs. The lyrics in the video are Roger's but the lyrics used on the album issue are Gary's. I prefer Roger's lyrics but I think both versions are good. There's a brilliant set of interviews by Stephen Roper (Numan Arms) with. various artists and engineers who've worked with Gary, particularly those in the eighties; Bill is one of the interviewees and he briefly talks about the making of the record.
