  • On 1967, 20 people who were born on 15th August 1947 were interviewed about their life and asked about their thoughts on India. As they turned 20, so did India.
India in Pixels has remixed the original video by the Films Division of India ( • I am 20 ) to bring a flashback of the history.
What were their thoughts? What dreams did they have for India? Check out this video for a glance into the past.

It is humbling to see how our great country has evolved, slowly and steadily - few things are still the same, a lot has changed. This Independence day, ask yourself how are you contributing to India's story? As one of the speakers in the video says, it is very simple, you don't have to do anything extraordinary. Do what you are doing to the best of your ability, keep your surroundings clean, be strong and righteous, you will be helping India be great.
A very warm Independence day to all of us. Jai Hind.

They were born in an era when there was lack of opportunities yet they strived to achieve their dreams. Yet here I am having all the resources and yet not utilising them. I hope I can learn a thing or two from these people and strive to be a better citizen and actually contribute something to my nation's prosperity or even just have the courage to follow my passion.

The fact that no one mentioned religion while talking about everything is exactly the reason why India ia where it is.
Yes, it could have been in a much better place, but still it has achieved a lot because of the mindset that religion has no role when it's about country.
Religion is just your personal Private Matter for your personal well-being not a political agenda to grab power...
I hope we can keep religion private when it's about country.

Ur understanding is very superficial . There are theocracies that are progressive. Sweden is governed by Church. Atheist communist states are a total failure. You have a very narrow , wrong Nehruvian idea of everything. What religion you are talking about belongs to 5% people. 95% Hindus at least find no contradiction or enmity between religion and democracy and science. All the elements of so called revolution in society can well be traced to religion and culture also if you read things in detail.
And it was Congress that MADE no code bills for muslims and there is ZERO separation of radical Islam from politics and society in Islamic countries and even in muslims of India. It was Rajiv Gandhi who overturned the 1986 Supreme court secular decision to uphold women rights to allow Mullahs to take decision. It is the Mullas and Imams that are hindrance to separation of secular life from Islam. To some extent even the pastors
Seperatiion of faith from society is seen maximum among Hindus. Take Halaal meat for example. It is religious thing shoved down the throat of people of other faiths that too in secular democracy

@@jasminepal8945 I think u are Bong. So history and common sense is not expected. Partition was done by the British , but initiated by the Islamic leaders of UP like Jinnah. He ordered direct action day causing blood shed of Hindus. For them anyone who is in majority is "oppressive" so that they can use this oppression victim minority card to oppress others as directed in the scriptures.

@@jasminepal8945 if I am racist , I learned it from you. There is a racist concept of "Bhodrolok" in West Bengal , which means evolved and superior humans who mock people from North Bengal as being primitive .
Anyways , no Islamic country is a democracy. Bangladesh is a sham democracy. Hindus and Sikhs are targeted unrelentingly. There are only 3 Hindu temples in entire middle East , that is more than the size of India , which has 3 lakh mosques. This is not a pattern , but a law. That the faith doesn't treat minorities as equals and hates democracy..
