HH-66 Vinyl Cement - Using Underwater

- HH-66 is great for bonding vinyl to vinyl applications in a normal environment (out of water), it is as strong as sewing. Did you know that you can also use it underwater to repair and bond vinyl? In this video we will demonstrate using the HH-66 Vinyl Cement for a vinyl to vinyl repair underwater. Use HH-66 Vinyl Cement to repair or patch vinyl pool liners.

When the patch was folded, the video cut (at 0:52) and I could not tell if the glue was inside the resulting "taco" or outside. So, when you apply it, are you unrolling the "taco" side that is between the patch and surface (it looks this way, but I can't tell so easy in the video), or unfolding the taco like opening a book. Sorry for the confusion.
It's the first option.
Indeed, the cameraman could have done a better job.
So, now I've successfully trimmed the intake hole of the original vinyl liner, cleaned it, rinsed it with water and let it dry. The patch I cut is a very nice circular one with the hole in the center for the intake valve. The pool is a not a great big one and I had to drain it anyway. I was able to put a dollarstore ice bucket on the outside, lay the liner on top of it and apply the patch.
However, I applied the glue to the vinyl liner as once I got close to it, I realized that about a half inch of the patch would not be attached to the liner. Pressed in place and when it was warm out. Tomorrow, I'll do the same to the outside of the liner with a second patch. Since the patch will only be actually in contact with about 1/2 inch of the original liner, I'm made a much larger patch to put over the outer smaller patch. Not sure how that will workout. the problem with patching a hole for an inlet or outlet is as you twist it and tighten, it can and will stress/twist the liner
Would HH-66 Vinyl Cement work well to repair PVC and Urethane Boats..or SUP's?
It has been tested with PVC and works, but it has not been tested with a urethane boat.
@@SailriteDIY this stuff is AMAZEBALLS FANTASTIC - thank you
Jeff looks pissed that's he's "slightly stronger"
I'll bet you can't patch over a wrinkle.
If you use enough glue it may work, 50/50
Excellent to hear, I use it at work for semi trailer tarps, never realized it would work under water for the pools too.
How much Rs in Pakistan
From where we can perchase it

The key here is she has better finger nails. I wonder since she was able to pick a small edge loose, could one apply more of the glue to that area and cement it in place?
yes
Hi can it be use in a banana boat?
Can we use this product in LLDPE geomembrane sheet ?
Gorilla glue I heard
Is it possible to send to Israel H H 66vniyl cement
Why do you have to fold the patch?
So the glue stays put underwater
@@code3responsevideos872, that is not how patches are usually applied.
@@hntrains2 you are usually wrong. I’ve seen it everywhere. In UA-cam videos, on instructions from the different manufacturers… folding the glue on the inside keeps it on the patch in transit to the location underwater.
@@code3responsevideos872, whoa! Really?
does it weld pvc roof liner of 1.5MM???
Sorry, it has not been tested for that.
@@SailriteDIY do it please , thanks.
@@juanpablocruz2519 I know it works for a heavy duty 20oz white vinyl "billboard tarp" material, that is also used for roofing of seasonal RV sunrooms, add-a- rooms, and awnings.
Can you use HH-66 on regular blue tarp?
+Stet Tan The blue tarp materiel is a polypropylene fabric. HH-66 works best with vinyl to vinyl fabrics, not polypropylene.
The thing with these tarps are they're great for short to medium time frames to keep the weather off them. But, the sun will degrade them and you'll have lots of little brittle blue leaves all over.
R T I wasn't planning on repairing the tarp. Just wanted to know which adhesive was good to use if I wanted to strengthen certain areas of the tarp.
Can I use it on inflated pool ring .??
going to Lowes to get it now. so bad I can record it my reparation...
I don't see it listed on lowes. You might be able to order it from them and I know you can get it on EBAY or Amazon. The question is, this is summer and how well will it do in the heat during transport before you get it?
@@southernguy35 I recieved my hh66 in mid summer. It dries faster and works great if you time it out
Folded vinyl is a "taco"?
it looks like a taco, hello?
Maybe that's the secret to having a taco not falling apart on you.
yeah, tastes like one too - try it
Can I use this for plastic or wooden boat?
It might work on plastic, but you should test it to be sure. It will likely not work on wood, sorry.
Sailrite How do you sell this? I mean tin of HH66 and plasti sheet...include shipping to Vietnam. Tks
Waiting for your response.
HH-66 can only be shipped within the USA, sorry.
Que tiendas lo tienen en venta
Só pode ser enviado dentro dos EUA, desculpe.

awesome video!
Thanks!
Sailrite do you ship plastipane to Canada?
@@LiquidTurbo Yes, we do.
I wish someone would do a video of trying to patch an under water hole
at the bottom of the wall in a 4 ft. deep above ground. I have never found a way to keep myself
down without holding on to the top rim of the pool and then with one
hand, I can't open the patch that is folded over. How on earth do you
do that?
To keep from floating up you would have to use weights like a diver's weight belt.
I usually open up my toolbox and get the only tool I need, a checkbook. Then I call someone to jump in and do it for me.
Or someone can captain Morgan you
wear a weight belt.
Captain Morgan !!
ie. Have someone stand on your back, holding you underwater..
