Only banana leaves were used in the old days to make bibingka and the smell is so good. I can smell the banana leaves all the way here. Forget about paperlyn, that did not exist or any paper lining nuong araw 😂😂😂
Thank you for the recipe vid, please don't get offended. It looks ok but not close with the real royal bibingka of the north. The one that you made resembles more of the Christmas bibingka. Royal bibingka from Ilocos only uses glutinous rice flour which gives it a chewy texture similar to tikoy/ butter mochi. The authentic royal bibingka ingredients are: glutinous rice flour, white/ refined sugar, coconut cream (kakang gata), fresh/ evaporated milk, whole eggs. If using salted butter, no need to add salt. Grated cheese (ordinary process cheese found in supermarkets. Cheddar cheese is an option). Paperlyn is the preferred liner (it holds/ retain the shape) not banana leaf (it causes the final product to shrink). Completely cool down in the pan. Finish product sink in the middle of the bibingka (a signature mark specially the known brand Marsha's).
@@angelapolinar5190 my point is if you are going to make a known delicacy, make it as close as the original to avoid misleading people. Royal bibingka is a known/ famous pasalubong from the north. Would you eat a food served to you as adobo (with you knowing what adobo is), but the actual food served to you is not adobo at all?

It's best if you put salted egg on top
