Wow! thank you. No other reviewer is actually putting out the tips you have here. hope to see more
Thanks man! I’m planning a very simplified beginners guide soon. Probably more basic than most need, but can’t leave the new guys behind.
@@okestgamer you bet, it's definitely helpful! Consider talking about magpie as many 90s PC games have display problems due to the portrait screen.
Ah yes, I’ve used magpie and lossless scaling. Sometimes I’ve had it tank the performance, but that was only in a couple of scenarios
@@okestgamerhey man I really like your video I got a question and I'm trying to find some help g o g currently has the game venetica on sale for about 2 dollars I cannot get this game to run on my legion go I keep getting a Microsoft runtime c++ error do you think you would mind trying to get it and see if you could get it to run or maybe help me or is it just not compatible The game is currently like a $1.49 thank you
Excited to follow this guide when I get my Go! Awesome work OKest!
Thank you! It should cover the basics to get you going. I’m also going to do a very simplified beginners guide as well. Like new to pc gaming level.

Thinking of getting one of these and this video has been clear and to the point. Subscribed! :)
Appreciate the support! If you do choose it, hopefully it will help you out. If you get another windows handheld, most points will transfer perfectly

No problem, hope you enjoy your new system!
You, sir, are a freaking legend. Thank you.
Thanks man! Glad you
Enjoyed it!
Thank you for your excellent and timely video!
You’re welcome man! Glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful
For updates you can also click on the top right button three times to get to the quick settings, click on the question mark, then click on online support. Easier than going into a browser and typing.
Thanks for sharing, that would be much easier
I was thinking 3:45 top left legion button for legion space and clicking menu/settings as I updated a ton of drivers that way.
Do you know how to make the keyboard pop up when playing games for some reason it won’t pop up
@AlanisBrown virtual keyboard on right lenovo button for settings though Bluetooth keyboard is more practical. You can also remap controller buttons to keysthough steam's community controller layout is easier for those nice enough to upload.
You always come through with a great video! Thanks.
Thanks man! Glad it was helpful
@okestgamer Good day. Okest, I have a question. I've downloaded 7840u driver onto my go and want to go back to the original Z1 drivers. Please help.
@@mrrasron1 you may need to use DDU to uninstall the previous drivers. I personally have not used it yet. Maybe try the legion Go discord
@@okestgamer Thanks Okest
No problem
Very good video. To the point and extremely helpful.

Appreciate the support man! Glad the video was helpful
Awesome tips! Thank you kindly

Hello I got my Legion Go today! I downloaded drivers, update windows, and downloaded games. I factory reset my new device, is that okay? Is there something I should be worried about?
The factory reset may potentially mess up the drivers that were installed. If you need the drivers they should be available on Lenovo’s support site. I would try everything out first and if you are not having any issues then carry on as usual
@@okestgamer Thank you for the reply! I was aware that my drivers would be erased, but I would repeat the setup process again coming from this video. Is that fine for my device?
Yes for the most part, there may be drivers specific to the controllers or other components that are specific to the Go. If you find any issues with some things (like speakers, track pads, etc) then try the Lenovo support site to download a driver pack. Legion space may also prompt them to be installed, I’m not sure if that’s been fully implemented or not yet.
absolutely fantastic video
Glad it was helpful for you!
Just got mine 2 hours ago I love it !
Congrats! Yeah it’s a very nice device.
Great, to-the-point video. Also, love the Canadian accent.
Thanks man! Glad it was helpful. And yes Canadian accents for the win 😆
I haven't used Windows since XP (all Macs since then) and I'll likely purchase one of these in the nest couple months, so this guide is incredibly helpful. Thanks!
Not a problem, it takes a bit of learning, but is good once you sort it out.
This video is really great and helpful! I got the LLG today and luckily I’ve found this video to follow, especially I am new to Windows handheld! 😂
Oh thank you! Glad it was helpful. I’m making a beginners guide as well that will be for people brand new to windows gaming. Should be out soon
@@okestgamer Can't wait😂😂👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks so much for the video. Would love to see a comparison between this one and all the other handheld pcs, especially the OXP2.
Planning to do a short with a side comparison and a weight comparison in my review

Glad you have before I have it - thanks' alot fella@@okestgamer
@@roakey8167 not a problem man!
Great Video! Thanks
No problem man, glad it was helpful!
Great video! Just a thing. To enter bios it’s enough to press power button and volume up at the same time until the bios screen appears, no need to press rapidly volume up button.
Ah good to know. I pressed power and then volume up and it worked. I had another device that you had to press a few times so I’ve just gotten into the habit.
You could also hold the volume up button and press power once
This one seems easy enough to trigger. I had a couple of devices that just refused to enter
Really good video!!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
I just got the go and at first I was nah I’m returning this but then after the software updates I was okay maybe it’s a keeper I’m hanging on to it for now to see where it goes I wanted to try it before I pulled the trigger on an oled since I owned a steamdeck and I’m glad I picked up the legion
Yeah it’s A pretty nice device tbh. I’m glad I picked one up
buying the 2tb next week, watched your video twice & probably will like 7 more times since this will be my first pc
Feel free to message if you need more tips
I have a Legion go on the way. gonna download this video mad usful 🤙
Nooo don’t download it just rematch it many times to feed the algorithm lol. But FR glad it’s helpful

Thank you!
Not a problem
I just saw your comment on the Wulff Den bid, is this your updated day one guide, or are you releasing a new one altogether?
Mate, thanks for all your coverage btw, it's been awesome.
Hey no problem man, yes this is the updated guide. The other video was my very early days as a creator
Thanks for this video. i just purchased one today , do you have a video on what's best for proformaces
Not a problem. I don’t have a specific performance video, but I advise starting with lowest graphics settings and FSR as high as possible and then work your way up (turn down FSR, or turn up graphics) until you find a good setting.
This video helped me so much, I was worried about updating drivers in the wrong way etc., thanks!
Not a problem! Glad it was helpful!
Great video, has helped me a lot with my go. I have a question as someone who hasn't own a pc since windows 8, what antivirus software and browser would you say is good for a handheld pc?
I personally have not installed anything, I use it strictly for gaming
Fluid Motion Frames lets go!
That’s the name. Couldn’t remember it haha
Thank U, great guide i subscribed. Can You please do some tutorial about battery life, what to do to save most while playing games, what to change resolution refresh rate etc ? It will be much help for new users.
Thanks for your support. I actually have a friend who specializes in those video types. I believe he just received his legion Go. Check out his channel: youtube.com/@Gaming_for_insight?si=_sDfF0rJ7RIueelH
I believe he was off of videos for a bit due to a move, but should pick it up again shortly.
Thank you, as I just finished up on your tutorial to the Legion, it was awesome and knowing these Options...Question ...how do you remove apps thats doubled up on the home screen ? And also where did you get that rad looking space live screen saver ?
Do you mean in the legion space app? I’ve heard some had issues with that. I would have to look into the solution.
The screen saver was actually just a UA-cam video haha
@okestgamer like I have a few double apps on the desktop and when I try to remove it will ask if I want to move it never to delete
if on the desktop they are probably just shortcuts. Those you can just delete
Can these same tips be used on a ROG ALLY and would you recommend using them on an ALLY? Great video by the way!
Thanks man! Yes they should all be relevant on the ally, except obviously swapping software around for legion space and armoury crate.
‘My Asus’ replaced the need to go to a website like on the legion
Great video just got mine went with fx sound and it sounds much better so what do you think 6 ,8, auto ram in bios I have it on auto.
Personally, I tend to stick with 6gb. It seems to be a good option to stick with.
Thanks man first WIndowns PC after owning a mac for 12+ years ngl its pretty much havent changed haha but I like it its a proper PC
No problem. Yeah these handhelds can be docked and are just regular computers, it's kinda nice.
@@okestgamer i returned it it vertical screen orientation was absolutely horrible to deal with every time u dock it
@@ROT8TED oh interesting, mine hasn't had that issue once I set it once.
what a great video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Appreciate you
Thank you!
Great video, wondering if you have done a follow up on the UMA 4gb/6gb/8gb now available on the new official bios?
Thank you. I haven't done a follow up, but the steps would be the same. I recommend 6gb
Do you happen to know anything about emulation on the legion Go? I wanted to see about setting up my controllers and I'm having some difficulty with them I didn't know if you had any advice or any recommendations thank you for your video and your help!
I have a little bit of experience, but mostly with yuzu at this point. In yuzu you need to select the controller in the settings, it is not defaulted on.
Highly recommend having steam big picture mode launch on start up instead
Yup it’s a great option, I briefly showed how for those wanting a steam deck like UI
Will disabling one drive help stop bringing over everything from your windows desktop to your legion go ?! When you turned it off?
I think it would help. I usually turn it off right away because of how annoying it is
Question as of right now this video is very helpful but my questionis on the VRAM i see in my vram 4G, 6G and 8G did you ever change to 6G? And did you ever change your settings in the AMD app to HYPR-RX?
I would suggest 6gb, it wasn't available at the time I made the video but does offer some gains in performance. Hype rx has a few features, it certainly can't hurt to have it on for the most part. Fluid motion frames is the one that may sometimes act strange, you can always toggle that one off
I hope they can make it easier to change VRAM. I would love to when I have eGPU connected I can drop the VRAM lower to give more the CPU.
I’m sure they will bake it into legion space in the future
What are the limits on it
windows 11 needs debloating
It does, but it was a little outside the scope of this video. Wanted to keep it simple for this one. I can recommend a couple of videos for that if you would like?
would love your video recs for debloating!
I have a couple of UA-cam friends who made guides. I haven’t tested their methods so keep that in mind.

Does that save on battery life? And how much if it does?
Does anyone know what settings need to be changed so games on steam come up completely full screen? The taskbar for every game is showing please help
All games are staring this way?
Can you run multiple programs while you are game ? Such ad switch too different tabs or multiple tasking?
You technically could yes. It is basically the same as if you were using a laptop. You could run the game windowed if you wanted
Just a quick random question, what size thumb caps fit the analogue stick, ps4, Xbox or switch?
I’ll need to test it out
How do you stop legion space from opening at the beginning of
There is a way to do so, I didn’t include it due to targeting newer users. Are you in the r/legion go discord?
I just bought Legion go this week. Any tips to make this run smooth?
I have come from a console and need to get use to it otherwise I will be selling it.
The battery is draining fast and I need to know how to install and update drivers.
Also which are the best free pc games to download?
Wish somebody would just do a basic run through of best settings for beginners on handheld and pc gaming. Such as optimised performance and enjoying the experience of playing games!
Some of your questions are addressed in the video. As far as settings go, I suggest going with balanced tdp mode if you want to save battery and performance if you want better performance.
In game graphics settings I suggest starting at low settings and if you see a setting called "FSR" turn it to performance (not all games have FSR).
I also have a beginners guide for setting up the device and give a short tour of legion space.
Should I download Norton antivirus as I have a subscription on my laptop or will that use to many resources. Is windows built in security and antivirus good for this device
It's up to you. I personally am not using any, but I'm using it just for gaming so I'm not worried
I touched the warning point befor see your guide, now I set again in the AMD software the optimization from game to productivity. The VRAM is still 4GB. The problem is anyway there?
If you reboot the device and it’s still 4gb you should be safe
I wonder if this console will be able to emulate next gen nintendo console since switch lifespan is almost over and practically the majority of mid to end pcs can emulate switch pretty ok
First we would need an emulator for the new console, then it would need to be optimized. Likely would take awhile.
I got it for a trip, ultimately returned it though. After the trip. lol. $1130 back in my pocket (The device, plus other accessories that I needed with it and a few unrelated things) cause it was within 15 days. Best Buy policy. I understand the battery life isn't gonna be all that but I mean I was running a relatively low intensity game and it was getting like... 1.5 hours. Got a portable power solution in the form of an Anker, that thing took like 2 hours to charge and it then proceeded to run the device while playing on battery for like... another 1.5 hours. If you want it as a portable gaming solution for traveling, it's OK but we're just not there yet for truly portable PC gaming. You might as well get a gaming laptop or something, even then you'll be running into similar problems I think, but battery powered/portable PC's that are reliable in terms of battery life simply don't exist. Not yet.
Yeah it's probably going to be a little longer before we get longer play times
I saw other's video that their controller a bit wiggle. Did you have the same problem?
Mine of anything is too sturdy. It takes me using a very specific way of removing it to actually get it out. So far no wobble on mine
Is it worth to up the VRAM to 4gb l? I’ve seen a couple posts where some games are performing worse when it’s done
I haven’t had a chance to test it on the Go yet. When I get to benchmarking time maybe I’ll give it a shot
today i learned that i never took off the protective film on the trackpad,
today i also learned that there was a protective film on the trackpad.... 😅
lol yeah it took me awhile to realize as well
30000 tnx ^^
No problem man! Glad it was helpful
Every time windows finishes loading and right before I enter my pin it always makes a sound like something is being plugged in or unplugged. Is that normal?
Might be the controller connecting. I haven't had that on my legion Go, but have on other devices.
I didn’t watch this video before messing with the app and did the do not touch part of the vid and changed the performance optimizer to gaming. What do you mean by it messes up your VRAM? What should I do to fix it?
You should be able to fix it by updating the bios. Google legion go bios update and you should fine the file on their website
Ok cool thanks, I instantly went into panic mode when I heard you say that 😂
Hi, I have this issue of the securityhealthSSO error pop up before login to windows, any idea how to solve it?
I have never seen that message
Can all of this automatically automatically update themselves or do we do it manually?
Right now it seems manual, I’m sure they will look to smooth it out later. Legion space will be automatic moving forward.
Please could you help me, when i have fxsound, my @ sign does not work...when i press @, it shows everytime fxsound on or off.....i cannot write an @ ...it's blocked
That is very odd, maybe check the settings for fxsound to see if there is a hot key enabled. I've never heard of this issue before
Just fyi that turning off virtual machine platform will disable the ability to run android apps.
Thanks for sharing, I have never used that feature so it’s good to know
I plan to play android/mobile apps so thanks for letting us know!
I got this and after turning it on I’m confused with all these updates and what to do
Watch the beginners guide I have for the legion Go as well. Might be good to start there and then come back to this one
Great videos. Really well made. Subscribed! 👍
Ive got a steamdeck and love steamos but i miss cod and battlefield. Ive ordered a legion go and like the hardware. Looking to try fps mode.

14:36 WORTH IT! 🖖🏾
This means you made it to the end 🎉 thanks for your support.
Ok wow I'm sure all these are great but man that sound one for sure night and day difference
Yeah those speaker can use the help haha
Which sound app did you use?
I cant get to the core isolation screen, any thoughts. It says "page not availabile"
I encountered this one time, I cannot at all recall how I fixed it.
Dude, I wake up in the morning and then I just see your video posted 11 minutes ago💀
Yup, it’s not often I can get one out mid week. I have some time off work so I’ve been busy filming.
I dropped mine 1st day while trying to plug in the charger, almost 5 ft drop to hard floor flat, both controllers popped off. Windows 11 didn't mind, controller platic hooks chipped but still connects securely - maybe a tiny tiny bit looser, but could be the same looseness... Just wanted to say this in case anybody was worried, you can explode it. lol
I’m glad it survived, I have had one of my controller plastic pieces slightly chip, now I press the buttons at the back while putting on as well.
everything was perfect, but for core isolation i can't access the page. Help Please
I believe there is a method to disable it from the registry
Can i ask what does rsr do I'm confused about enabling or disabling it
It basically is an upscaling method you can use to run a game at a lower resolution, and have it upscale it to a higher resolution. Many games have FSR built in which is a more advanced way of doing this.
Tha k you
No problem!
Question regarding the memory optimizer bit; in what way does this cause problems? I changed it before seeing this video and things seem okay but I'm not sure what I should be looking for? What do I do? D:
I’ve never experienced any issues. Some devices I have come with it off as default
@@okestgamer In your video you say it can mess up your vram and could require a BIOS flash to fix, in what way do you mean? It won't physically damage it or anything right?
@@cullenjk no not physically damaging, it just messes up the vram allocation. So if you change it and then reboot, you’ll likely be down to 2gb of vram instead of the standard 3 or other amount you set in the bios. It’s a setting that all around is best to avoid.
@@okestgamer ah okay, I should double check my settings for 4GB stuck since I changed it right after changing that setting and just assumed it worked.
Thanks for taking the time to respond and clarify! ❤️
Not a problem, hopefully yours isn’t changed incorrectly. If it is, apparently a bios reflash fixes it, but make sure you’re comfortable with the process before doing that.
I downloaded the new amd drivers and it wont open ? Any idea how i followed all the steps
I’m assuming you reboot the system? Hmm I wonder if a manual install of that app is needed. Are you in the legion Go discord?
