This does not work on mining, fishing or 4 corners farm as you will want to in mining farm, go mining at 1st day usually the mining area is filled with things to mine to get a forge and recipie and start smelting your 1st and maybe 2nd bar of copper by day 5 or 6 you have enough to upgrade your 1st tool which would be axe to clear more on your farm and you'll be making money on those spring onions and trees you've cut down in cindersap forest enough for upgrade and 4 corners too much to clear in farm and you will mine too to get that forge and recipie 1st day and in fishing it will take you time to clear your farm as its islands less to clear but your farm layout makes you take time before you can go anywhere
How does this not work on those maps? Sure, there may be other more optimal strategies, but this one would still work. Also...of course one strategy isn’t going to be the best for every single map...
I love how Sebastian just comes and goes while you’re up in the mountain lake frantically fishing at ungodly hours. Like “oh there’s that crazy fishing lady again, _smoke puff_ “

It grinds you down, day by day. That is no way for a young lady to grow. Take this deed. And one day, far from this day, you will find you need a home in Stardew Valley."
"Yeah that sounds great and all but have you seen my ancient fruit wine industry? I'm fucking loaded, Grandpa! Thanks for the land!" He knew what he was doing. He knew. Why else did he make a shrine for himself when he was alive?
Got a bug. I get level 3 fishing day 2, 4&5 on day 4, then after I hit level 6 on day 3 (real time) every bait drop in treasure chests drops 1 only, for the rest of the game (going down treasure chest profession route).
@@insertnamehere9380 30 hours in a week is normal for every game for me lol but I think my top time spent in a week playing one game was 105 hours in a week
Hi! Saw that you haven't posted in 2 years, but I wanted to say this this has motivated me to start a new save and follow this guide, with a couple adjustments! Hope you're doing well 😊
Super helpful! I finally completed the community center AND unlocked Ginger Island before the end of year 1, thanks to you! Having all that extra money at the beginning really pays off.
I've watched and read a copious amount of optimization guides for spring year 1. Yours is the best one (so far) for patch 1.43. Best, as in, most effective. I've been checking in on your channel daily for part II. Looking forward to watch the full series.
Oh my gosh, thank you so much, that means a lot! I'm glad it's effective for you so far! I've been out of town visiting my family recently and now my voice is hoarse from all the talking so I can't record. :( I'm hoping I'll be recovered enough to record tomorrow though so I will likely have part 2 up by Thursday! Parts 3 & 4 won't take as long for me to get to.
@@FoxyFernGaming Love your format as well and using this on my 2nd monitor to try myself as well. I didn't see or hear you say the version of StarDew Valley or see it in your description. What version did you play for this video? Is this at least version 1.4.0?, thanks.
With a quick push into the skull cavern its really easy to pick up Dinosaur eggs on the Prehistoric floors they added in 1.4; sometimes the eggs are just laying on the floor, and the pepper rex drop them at 10% a kill. That all being said the lil dinos have literally the worst rate of return in the coop so they are more a novelty than anything.
@@bobnewkirk7003 a free Dino egg is still a free Dino egg, and I think it should have been utilised a lot more, especially since I usually don’t start going into skull caverns until Late fall-Winter Y1, especially because of how rare it was before 1.4, and I still like them for novelty’s sake, not everything has to be pure min maxing lmao, even if the entire point of the video is to min max that doesn’t mean it still pains me for it to be sold lmao
It's also a fine idea to buy one just for use as a spare to leave by your favorite fishing spots, in case you ever have a few minutes but aren't carrying your good rod that day. This may not be a total "minmax" hint, but it's okay for casual play.
I figured that out a really unfortunate way. my very first run ever, I wasn't used to the controls (on switch) and I trashed my original rod, which made me have to buy a training rod. I was so surprised at how easy fishing was, I didn't make the switch to the fiberglass rod until way late in the game!!!
When I first started, the training rod wasn't patched in. I COULD NOT get good at fishing and made my ex multiplayer with me and be my fishing slave so I could finish the community center without doing the item spawner glitch anymore lmao

But it was my 6th re-run with you in which I (on day 3) fished up a TREASURE CHEST with a DIAMOND. I SQUEALED WITH JOY!!! Anyways, just thought this was too good not to share!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!! YOU ARE AMAZINGGG!! YOU KEEP ME GOINGGG💕💕💕💕😌✨
Foxy Fern I ended up missing the window of planting strawberries in order to get two harvests in that save file LMAO RIP😂😂 I started a new one 😌 but that treasure chest will stay in my heart forever 🤣🤣
Well this guide probably didn't fix my problem of being unable to turn off the optimizer part of my brain when playing stardew, but it was very enjoyable and had a lot of great advice. Also love the way you constructed the video. Thanks a bunch, and subscribed!
Haha thanks! Sorry for making you want to optimize! XD I know the feeling. I’m trying to do just a relaxing play through right now and I’m like “SOMETHINGS WRONG I DONT HAVE ENOUGH GOLD”
I didn't find you videos until I was on day 10 of my first summer, where I am as I type. My total earnings so for are 362.010 which includes my first cranberry harvest. My current funds are 15,815 with a fully upgraded barn and coop. Well, the coop is being upgraded now. I still have to wait for Robin to complete it before I can get a rabbit. My duck isn't fully grown yet, but my big has already given me 2 truffles. I must say that you accomplished a phenomenal amount on your first day, which is all of your video I have watched so far. I do look forward to finishing this one as well as the other parts of your guide. Well done, and thank you for your guide.
Thank you for sharing! Sounds like you're still doing quite well - definitely much better than my first run years ago haha XD. Hopefully the guide is helpful for people to give a little push to their normal runs even if you're not trying to necessarily min/max. :)
@@josephcroeniangamer3727 i can understand why it’s appealing it’s just not appealing for me, i prefer mining when it comes to the thrill of finding something unexpected, like instead of catching a rare or high level fish i get more satisfaction coming across a skull cavern level with tons of gems and iridium, so yeah i know why people could enjoy it i just find the other aspects of the game significantly more enjoyable
I’m subscribing too, I get really happy when I find help on Stardew seeing as I’m pretty new and I’m not too good at the game.. it helps to watch these and get ideas even if it’s 1 am where I live and I should be going to bed for school-
hi this is a brilliant guide, thank you! But for my case, i'm using switch and forest farm. Even though it's difficult to copy your strategy, I still managed to get 170 strawberry seeds and around 50k by first summer using your logic by strawberry alone. As for my case, i think it's quite helpful to have extra forageable in the first week with forest farm, and by 1st summer i'm comfortable to do whatever i want however i want. Subscribed!
That's awesome! Yeah sadly I didn't realize just how many non-PC people are playing Stardew Valley, so I wish I had made a better all-encompassing guide. You still did really well considering!
@11:07 No I didn't find anything while fishing worth a pretty penny. And my lack of fishing skill (Not level) allowed me to catch one cat. BUT later that night a fairy visited me and grew most of my parsnips, two potatoes from mixed seeds and one cauliflower also from mixed seeds. So I guess we all get lucky sometimes hahaha
for some reason this reminded me of my first time playing multiplayer when my friend planted hundreds of melons and when he wasnt online i kept passing out trying to water them all. we got 56k from one harvest
I'm so happy I found this video omg, I've been trying to play stardew valley in the most efficient way to get the most money and ur video explained it so much better than other UA-camrs 100 days videos which I was using before. Thank you!
Two fishing tips! Tap the mouse button instead of trying to hold it down and Willy sells Trout soup for 250g which raises your fishing level by 1. This is very helpful early!
Three year after post gang here, this guide is already doing numbers for me. I even happened to get the grass/leaves hat on day one. I will say that I’ve been holding on to all the fish caught instead of selling them to maybe get a bigger payday. Also holding onto a single one of the community center items of everything as well. Day five now. Hope it goes well!
Did she just get a Dino egg on the third day from fishing? I remember spending hours and hours fishing with the best gear just trying to get my hands on one and she gets in the first week of the playthrough I’m so mad.
One file on my phone I have been searching for one and then my new file, I got it about the same time cause of all the fishing I'm doing. I'm amazed that it can happen so easily.
Oh my lord, I never thought about using torches in your inventory to light up the dark levels in the mine, holy moly that's such a galaxy brain strat, I just suffered my way through them except for the rare occasions where I found a glow ring early
You’re underrated, you deserve much higher recognition I played for 194 hours and can’t compete. I did subscribe and I hate liking videos because there’s that liked videos playlist but, I got you and thank you.
Thanks for this cool guide! I just started this game for a week, and finding this guide so awesome. After about 50 hours min/max run following this guide (and about 7 or 8 reset), i think the key point is day 1, 6 and 13, and better use S/L to make day 1 to day 6 more powerful.
one of these run with very good fishing start during d2-d4, i got Neptune's Glaive form Treasure Chests in d4 , but i forgot to bring my copper ore back for mine and just earn 5k in day 6... so i restart again.
It was a crazy lucky run - chests almost never pop up for me and they don't have diamonds and emeralds. I believe I had bait, bait, more bait, two pieces of coal, and bait.
I wanted to leave a comment simply because of how awesome and useful this guide is. The quality and information are incredible! Thank you very much for sharing!
On my first day playing Stardew valley walked around, planted parsnips, and went to sleep. 2nd day I played I read the letter from Willy, and whilst trying to find the beach got lost, and passed out
Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that! It sounds like maybe you’re new to Stardew valley? If that’s the case I would recommend against following my guide for your first play through. It’s pretty hard to succeed unless you know exactly where everything is, plus you should enjoy it in a relaxed manner on your first time playing!
This is an old video but i just had to stop by and comment. Just started stardew last week and I used this guide mainly as a way to get set up for the rest. This was honestly a great guide to getting the farm mostly self sufficient and taking some stress of farming off my shoulders! Watched all of the guide and couldn't be happier with the results and your effort! Keep up the good youtube creator grind!
Good video. This may be a matter of preference, but I prefer to buy the training rod and use it for the entirety of day 2. Also, there are two ways I like of doing day 1, either you sell your parsnip seeds and buy potatoes (less watering, more money and XP) or you plant the 15 parnsips and keep the 500g on you for day 2... on day 2 if you can hit level 2 fishing on the beach before willy closes, and you manage to catch 1300g or more worth of fish, you can buy the fiberglass rod right then and there, take it up to the mountain, hit level 4 or get very close to it in prep for the :3fishing you will be doing on day :3 (I'm sorry) edit: typo
I really like this format, particularly the commentary and the fact that you go into what's actually happening. Although, I will say, I'll miss your attempts at friendship with Linus... Also, music is great! I gotta see if I can find a soundtrack to this game
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Don’t worry, there will be more days of befriending Linus to come. :) I think you can buy the OST on Steam for a few bucks? There’s also a playlist on UA-cam.
Are you playing on PC or console? This guide isn't recommended for console because it's extremely difficult to get everything watered that you need to. How short of gold are you on Day 6? You can also plant Parsnips on Day 7 and/or 8 to supplement what you are missing. The downside of this is that it will take more watering and a lower profit margin than potatoes or kale, but still doable.
Yeah, I've tried three or four times now and always end up short day 6. Even this latest one when I got a couple diamonds. Guess I gotta go find a guide for the console.
I like to use recycling machines as a source of refined quarts for quality sprinklers; they don't need coal but you do have to fish every so often. Or you can make a few crab pots to collect trash. The underground lake is great for trash. Ghost/Rock fish sell nicely as well. The machines also sometimes produce coal or iron ore.
Definitely! Recycling machines can be a good source, but it costs a lot of mats to utilize them(3 iron ore per crab pot + mats for recycling machine) so I don't usually do too much. In my latest minmax run I think I had a total of 5 crab pots on my farm and that was enough to where I never had to smelt quartz so that helped out, plus every now and then I'd get a coal from a trash piece.
Man, I didn't think about fishing in the mines for trash(or the town river I suppose). That might have been more effective than crab pots? I'm not sure though, cuz crab pots don't take any time. THERE'S SO MANY THINGS YOU CAN DO AHHHH!
If anyone's ever curious and you find this guide later: The 3 levels in day 2 thing is possible. You will need a training rod and to actually be good at the fishing game since. You basically just HAVE to hit your perfect catches.
After watching all 4 videos last night im trying this guide out today. Excited to finally do a min/max run. (I actually hit fishing level 3 on day 2, so she isn't lying, it's possible)
The real time this guide must have taken! Most tips videos show one thing then clips to the next. Showing everything this way is realy helpful though! Thank you! /Greetings from Honky Bonky at Tonky Farm.
Day 2 instead of going straight for mountain lake you can fish at ocean and sell all to Willy then go to pierres before it closes to get more parsnips, they will be able to be harvested on the 6th and you can sell direct to Pierre to buy more potato seeds.
Yay! I'm glad people can take some useful things from this series even if they aren't planning on doing a minmax run. It definitely helped me figure out how to boost my own economy early on in my casual games. :)
Perfect catches is a 2.4x modifier( other modifiers too but it's the main one) a sardine normal quality is 13. So it gives out 31.2 xp? So does anchovy and the other one. A treasure chest gives a 2.2 modifier I believe. You can get a perfect treasure catch. It adds both modifiers in a compounding effect. So like 13×2.2= 28.6... 28.6x 2.4=68.64 xp. You can use the basic training rod that's 25 gold. You will have a way easier time catching perfects and you can easily get level 2 by noon, buy the fiber rod and then level 4 by the end of day 2. Level 6 on day 3 catching cat fish to reach level 2 that's 380 xp. That's like 13 perfect catches with the training rod ( it's easier then the bamboo rod). I made it to level 10 fishing by day 10 You do need a good seed start. The run I'm doing today I got a 250$ archeology bonus, a catfish in a trash can, a trout bowl in trash can and foragibles I started day with 1500 cash lol.. it was kind of wild. I want to reset the same start, but I don't know how. Anyways... good video you made me want to try fishing at the mountain on day 2.
For anyone following this. It's possible to hit level 3 fishing on day 2. It's also possible to get to level 20 mines on day 5 starting with the rusty sword. I've even been able to make it to level 30 in the mines with just the rusty sword (upgrading with the level 20 weapon when you get there)
Chests, on the first day make 100 wood from trees (leave the stumps) to build one chest at the farm and one at the fishing spot (or more if you go for more fishing spots) so you can keep everything and don't have to throw away any resources
damn it's cool to see a different way to play! in my current playthrough (my 4th one, btw), i was very chill and not tryhard... only bought like 20 strawberry seeds and didn't even plant them on year 1 yet, i wasn't focusing on min-maxing... instead, i finished the community center on year 1 and I'm 95% done with the museum, it was fun too 🥰
Personally I like to save for the Fiberglass Rod on day 2; sell all the fiber like you mentioned, but keep the original 500 and with luck (and fishing by Mr. Big Rock) you can j u s t afford it and a good chunk of bait to go with it. I'm not sure how much that helps but to me, faster fishing means better levels, better fish, and more money; past that I do save the fish for 25% money, which actually can come before your very first mines visit, if you're diligent and good at Catfishing
As a matter of fact, I have it written up over on Reddit! But, I should totally put it in the description of the videos, so thanks for pointing that out! www.reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/etjtdq/patch_14_minmax_detailed_comprehensive_guide/
Here is the real min max guide. It will show you how to get the most money possible in a year 1.4.5. With this guide there is no glitches and you will have over millions by summer docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSgsyHWNEB5oPBw8j7aq1_DR4sPdMPEsnDJYVlVkEIgWIT8RheaHIQ4AmJ6k-wTwcc2hwuQYlwBnHDg/pub
@@nathan.turner it's out of date but this was a document compiled by one thehaboo's twitch mods based off his and many of the other min-max runs at the time. I posted it here not really to promote and honestly I do not like my message above as it was way too cocky but in a way to teach/inform the ignorant. This video teaches you how to make 213k+ by summer 1st-year one which is an extremely low amount of money. On my casual 1.5 playthrough, I had over 4 mil by summer 1st-year one which I then spent all on starfuit. Basically if you know what you are doing you can make bank.
tbh fishing is really op if you focus it thru spring, can easily hit lvl 10 by summer and make over 2k gold a day at the mountain pond and at lvl 10 you can make fish worth 50% more hitting 3k every single day
Important note: don’t feel bad about abandoning a perfect catch for a treasure chest, as a perfect catch multiplies the XP you gain from the fish caught by 2.4, but getting a chest multiplied the XP gained by 2.2! It’s a super great trade off with the smallest XP downside with the potential for a lot of gold off of just one cast.
This guide is AMAZING!! I wanted to start a new play through after I kind of messed my first one up by accidentally blowing up a building that had a chest with a TON of valuables in it- (By the way if you know how to get a new coffee machine after you frigging blew the first one up, let me know ^^;) But this is helping me get very far very fast!!
Small question, on days 3 and 4 with the chests placed down, when is a good time to claim the items from the chests? I know not to forget about them, but do I make a few extra trips specifically for them? Thx for the guide, it's really helping me out here (even in 1.5), I just thought about this.
I like the guide so far! Iv’e done other minmax guides before, but haha might have “abused” some journal time glitches to make those work. +mushrooms Now trying to follow this one on a switch lite no less. I am struggling haha your day 3 fishing was huge! So much lucky treasures :) stuck on day 5 atm got no weapon for mines. And i have 2 monster floors 6 and 9. I think im gonna restart again xP
Ugh, not getting a weapon is rough. I did just do a second playthrough though where I had crap luck for weapons and used a mediocre club through most of the mines. I almost died many times(I suck with clubs). The key is to avoid enemies as much as possible and just try to find stairs/use stones. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the guide so far though! And yeah, no shame on anyone for using those glitches, I just wanted to see how well I could do without. Sometimes I enjoy cheating for kicks and giggles, but I get bored pretty fast that way. Cheers!
@@FoxyFernGaming Haha jupp, i love maces ;D unless they patched out the super hit to the wall combo. The glitches was mostly to get a successful save file that i can screw around with. Luckily im persistent so dont care about the setbacks haha, i have a decent day 1-4 now, just need the day 5 to roll out!^^ (always reset if i get bad luck day on day 3...) not worth the hassle ;D
in day 2 it's better if you craft a chest and bring it to mountain lake so that you dont throw away anything. i got lucky there was a bubble and managed to get lvl 3 fishing and 2000+ gold worth of fish not including the chubs.
Yes, totally! In my playthrough that I tried after making this guide, that's what I ended up doing and it's definitely a good idea. Glad to hear you got so lucky. :)
@@FoxyFernGaming but i wasn't as lucky in day 4. i fished all day and only got 3 largemouth bass smh. i had to plant the rest of my potato crops in day 7 since i didn't have enough money in day 6 :( your guide is so nice and easy to understand that finally kicked me to try min/max run for the first time, thanks foxy :)
There's no wrong map at all! I never use anything but the forest map because I like the easy access to hardwood, forageables, and Cindersap fish. Her guide works perfectly well for it.
I started a non-farming run, where I would mainly fish... suddenly I had the whole beach surrounded with crabpots and i was making around 40k a day just by going to the beach and picking up the shrimps and mussels
Whoa that's awesome! I've never had enough pots to make near that much money haha. I wonder if it's worth the upfront cost of mats or buying from Willie.
@@FoxyFernGaming I took some avantage from the statue in the sewers (got many artifacts fishing) and also did some mining... it gives you enough time to deal with the pots in the morning, and go mining (or else) in the evening/night.. its is a bit boring haha but not much time consuming once its settled.. also rushed to buy lots of copper ore and coal, and used the profession skill to make it less costy, but still i think it took at least some weeks to pay it off lol
The only things I'd suggest differently is that on day 2 when you get your rod fish at the ocean first until you are level 2 and have enough money for the fiberglass rod and at least 50 bait before going to the mountains (forage shells off the beach as well to help get the money) Having a fiberglass rod with bait first thing on day 3 when it's raining will improve your chance of getting catfish and will more than compensate for not going straight to the mountains. It is also more than possible to get to level 5 on day 2 if you do make it to level 5 then don't sell your fish until the next day the key to doing that is to not bother watering your crops on day 2 the extra money you'll get from fish (especially the catfish day 3) will more than compensate for getting your parsnips a day late admittedly I'm very good at the fishing minigame though, but if you aren't good at the fishing game the best thing you can do is keep practising, just keep fishing until you get it, you can always restart the day your on so you aren't losing any game progress by practicing, the key to fishing is learning to feather the mouse button, (and if you really suck if you are on PC there are mods to help make fishing easier I know this is a no mod guide but just throwing it out there not being able to fish well is a game breaker). Also if you managed to get ore from a treasure chest on day 2 then clint will visit you on day 3 to give you the blueprints for the furnace on day 4 making it possible to obtain the copper pickaxe before day 5 by selling fish direct to Willy and buying ore from clint (get the coal from mining stone on your farm and smelt the ore at a furnace whilst you fish), the loss of money on the ore will be more than compensated for by being able to make a quicker start in the mine.
In a recent experiment I did not enter the mine until summer. Got enough ore from fishing, and had a good amount of time and energy for crops and logging. It might not be top efficient, but it worked surprisingly well!
@@24magiccarrot that is interesting. I didn't even realise yet that that's viable at all. Personally I'm quite happy when I get my greenhouse and a good number of quality sprinklers in Fall. Not quite going for speed mind you.
@@sneezyfido I don't go out my way for speed either but I know by getting as much starfruit wine in year one as possible that it makes all my other plans easier as it means I can use money for food and resources rather than having to harvest them. My priority in year one is Loads of starfruit wine and getting the rusty key from Gunther as it is the best way to get iridium sprinklers with minimal effort.
Honestly I feel like they do, since most of the big changes are for later in the game. I know other minmaxers have achieved better results through the use of the skull caverns but I am so awful at that place that I opted for something a little more chill.
holy shit the snowballing effect in the first season is through the roof. literally every 20 gold early on can make you additional thousands later in the run
this is a good brute force early game way to gain money but i would focus on the greenhouse because once you get ancient fruit, starfruit, and sweet gem berries you are making the same amount every week.
If I’m really bad at fishing could I wait until getting a training rod and then fishing until I pass out? Or is it best to keep using the rod Willy gives on day 2 even if I’m terrible at fishing?
I love your guide except for the thought that catfish are easy to catch. I've been playing Stardew for years and consider myself a pretty good fisher, but I can hardly ever catch a catfish in the first spring because they're just too tricky for me. Could this run be worked without relying on catfish?
I don’t think I said they’re easy to catch? I do think it’s important to try to catch at least a few but you definitely need to food buff to do that. I still miss them a lot when my fishing skill is low and even at lvl 10 I rarely get iridium ones! I definitely don’t think it’s easy.
@@FoxyFernGaming I apologize for my mistake. I was impressed that you caught three catfish, and despaired of ever equalling that. I'm watching your full-length guide now, and understand better how you made room for fishing better than I had seen before. Thank you!

Watch out for NPC's bumping into them and destroying them
Got a bug. I get level 3 fishing day 2, 4&5 on day 4, then after I hit level 6 on day 3 (real time) every bait drop in treasure chests drops 1 only, for the rest of the game (going down treasure chest profession route).

Oh my god she selling that dinosaur egg pained me so much
Same hahaha
Hi Bob! :D
@@FoxyFernGaming Hey Foxy, long time no see. you dig into 1.5 yet? I'm pretty eager to see how you like the new endgame, have you been spoiled yet? :D
Buy the "training rod" and use until you get the hang of fishing. I wish someone had told me when i first started. I was completely demoralized!
I play on a switch. I still cant fish even with the training rod.🙁🙁
Suddenly I realize its fun seeing how other people play a farming sim.. you earn my sub!

Even though it's difficult to copy your strategy, I still managed to get 170 strawberry seeds and around 50k by first summer using your logic by strawberry alone.
My early farming gameplay consist of daily visit to the spa 😌
Good video. This may be a matter of preference, but I prefer to buy the training rod and use it for the entirety of day 2.
Also, there are two ways I like of doing day 1, either you sell your parsnip seeds and buy potatoes (less watering, more money and XP) or you plant the 15 parnsips and keep the 500g on you for day 2...
on day 2 if you can hit level 2 fishing on the beach before willy closes, and you manage to catch 1300g or more worth of fish, you can buy the fiberglass rod right then and there, take it up to the mountain, hit level 4 or get very close to it in prep for the :3fishing you will be doing on day :3 (I'm sorry)

Hey thanks so much! I glad you enjoyed it.
I've followed your guide 3 times now, and I still end up short on gold on Day 6.
@@FoxyFernGaming Thanks for the tips! I didn't realize this wasn't recommended for console! I'll have to kick the husband of the PC. ^_^
I enjoyed listening to your commentary as I worked all day.
So...don't fall asleep at 2am with lots of gold. I guess I've been doing it wrong.

Yay! I'm glad people can take some useful things from this series even if they aren't planning on doing a minmax run. It definitely helped me figure out how to boost my own economy early on in my casual games. :)
Personally I’ve found it more effective to fish by the rock in the ocean the because by level 1 fishing you can catch gold quality fish
Oh did not know, thanks for sharing!
@@FoxyFernGaming it’s bs the rock doesn’t effect if at all
Perfect catches is a 2.4x modifier( other modifiers too but it's the main one) a sardine normal quality is 13.
I made it to level 10 fishing by day 10
You do need a good seed start. The run I'm doing today I got a 250$ archeology bonus, a catfish in a trash can, a trout bowl in trash can and foragibles I started day with 1500 cash lol.. it was kind of wild. I want to reset the same start, but I don't know how.
Anyways... good video you made me want to try fishing at the mountain on day 2.
fishing 6 on day 6??? and my friends call me the crazy fisher of Stardew Valley for maxing fishing early in summer...
i have started my run over so many times and have come NO WHERE NEAR close to what is on the screen no matter how hard i tried so i finally gave up
For anyone following this. It's possible to hit level 3 fishing on day 2. It's also possible to get to level 20 mines on day 5 starting with the rusty sword. I've even been able to make it to level 30 in the mines with just the rusty sword (upgrading with the level 20 weapon when you get there)
Yes it’s possible, but it depends a lot on luck.
I tried this, and oh my god the timing is so precise. Even if you’re even just a minute or 2 behind, you fail
Yeah, that’s true. My later series was a little more forgiving, but I didn’t go past spring unfortunately.
@@FoxyFernGaming Good thing it’s the first season... 😅
I’ve been trying to get the most out of my days this helped a lot 👍🏾

This video teaches you how to make 213k+ by summer 1st-year one which is an extremely low amount of money. Totally! Glad you enjoyed it. Even if people don't want to do minmax stuff, hopefully you get something out of it. :)
I cant even get one catfish ;( and it already ruin my dream to catch legend fish ;(((
tbh fishing is really op if you focus it thru spring, can easily hit lvl 10 by summer and make over 2k gold a day at the mountain pond and at lvl 10 you can make fish worth 50% more hitting 3k every single day
Yeahhhh definitely would be re-evaluating my minmax methods if I had the time outside of work! You’re probably right about the fishing.
These numbers seem low 2 days of fishing at the mountain lake and selling at level 10 got me 10kish?
Important note: don’t feel bad about abandoning a perfect catch for a treasure chest, as a perfect catch multiplies the XP you gain from the fish caught by 2.4, but getting a chest multiplied the XP gained by 2.2! It’s a super great trade off with the smallest XP downside with the potential for a lot of gold off of just one cast.

Luckily im persistent so dont care about the setbacks haha, i have a decent day 1-4 now, just need the day 5 to roll out!^^ (always reset if i get bad luck day on day 3...) not worth the hassle ;D
wow this makes me wanna restart my whole game
The fishing tips are super clutch 👏
Awesome! Glad they were helpful. :)
in day 2 it's better if you craft a chest and bring it to mountain lake so that you dont throw away anything. i got lucky there was a bubble and managed to get lvl 3 fishing and 2000+ gold worth of fish not including the chubs.
Yes, totally! In my playthrough that I tried after making this guide, that's what I ended up doing and it's definitely a good idea. Glad to hear you got so lucky. :)
@@FoxyFernGaming but i wasn't as lucky in day 4. i fished all day and only got 3 largemouth bass smh. i had to plant the rest of my potato crops in day 7 since i didn't have enough money in day 6 :(
your guide is so nice and easy to understand that finally kicked me to try min/max run for the first time, thanks foxy :)
Thank you for this. I am on Year 1 Fall but i have chosen the wrong map by accident. So i will use this method to grind my way back on a new map :)
I'm sure you could succeed with other maps! I mostly just like the default map because of all the space it has. :)
The greenhouse full of ancient fruit is nearly 100k every week all year
Yeah but this is specifically for early game to get you started correctly, not late game like how a greenhouse full of ainchent fruit usually is
The only things I'd suggest differently is that on day 2 when you get your rod fish at the ocean first until you are level 2 and have enough money for the fiberglass rod and at least 50 bait before going to the mountains (forage shells off the beach as well to help get the money) Having a fiberglass rod with bait first thing on day 3 when it's raining will improve your chance of getting catfish and will more than compensate for not going straight to the mountains.
@@sneezyfido It's not as efficient because it means you are missing out on the chance to plant starfruit seeds on day 1 of summer
Ok so I started to prioritize chests when fishing and got a Neptune Sword 18-35 damage on day 3 before I even opened the mines. IM SHOOK
man, good job!!! btw you have forgotten to collect the corals (beach stuff) on Sunday. corals resets on Sunday
Yep I’m definitely bad at remembering that lol
Yeah on my first summer i made a lot of g's from it
Cute, appreciate the guide
Hey foxy, just discovered your channel. Love the video! I just have one question: do the strats still apply even after the 1.5 update?
Thank you!
No worries! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I hope the play through goes well for you. Good luck fishing!
Stardew valley crime rate must be so low that a seemingly abandoned chest out of the wilderness isn't stolen by anyone
Lol right?
Lovely guide
