I'm surprised at how much planning goes into building a magic prop. Thank you for posting this video. I can't wait to start building my own mystery triangle prop.
Like this one very much, maybe your best one yet. Note that the object hidden behind the cards doesn't have to be prism shaped, as long as it works with that nice deceptive card stand. I see a lot of possibility's. Maybe first do a something like a "monte" type effect using the card stand just as a card stand. That also shows the cards as just cards and is a good time to do a bit of switcheroo and place the loaded card on there.
Seems like the "story" of the _Fifth element_ would suite this kind of trick... (Except you have 3 elements this time) 🙂😉 "Only when you have gathered the elements Fire, Earth, and Wind... (or Water, Wood, etc) You are able to lay your hands on the cosmic key" 😄😜
I think the story is like in the west we have the 4 elements fire, water, air and earth. But in the east they have the 5 elements wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Therer is only 3 elements that are common: fire, water and earth
1:14 Decent guess, as it actually means, among other things, to see. The one next to it is husband. And the final one... farming? But the horizontal stroke is missing the little downward strokes on the ends and that L is going off at a weird angle. I know kanji, not really simplified Chinese. 2:51 It would help if you put it right-side up So, what I'm saying is, unless you're 100% sure your audience will always be completely unfamiliar with the characters, know what you're using.
@@letsmakemagic8233 OK, last one is clothes. L is still going off weird. And pulling it from google still doesn't prevent you from holding the "key" upside-down.
Yeah the 'key' characters were put on upside down. One of the things you can do to make sure it's always the right side up is put the magnets in opposite directions (north south) on the card the key. Then you have to make sure you put the characters on the right way. Another suggestion I would make. Put a bit of cloth over the magnets. That way you would be less likely to hear the click when the magnets come back together. This is on the stand that has the cage bars on it.
If you don't mind me asking, do you use your gimmicks to preform? If you don't, I personally think you should. You sound fine preforming here on UA-cam, so I doubt a real audience would be much different. You have a real gift with these gimmicks. In my opinion, you should capitalize on it. This way you could at the very least be reimbursed for all the supplies and time you put into these projects. Something to consider it if you aren't already doing so. This of course is just my own opinion. Regardless, please keep up the great work
Probably the best looking effect you've made yet. Chinese characters always add an air of mystery.
This method could be used for so many other ideas.. Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for this video, I never knew how this was done, so this is great information!

All the characters were copied from a Google page of Chinese characters, I think they know what they're doing.

No I just make for UA-cam. My hobby is model making so it's just nice to make a little money from UA-cam to pay for materials.
@@letsmakemagic8233 I understand. Should you ever change your mind, I wish you luck with it.
Looking forward to your next project.
Cool I'm guessing object behind One of the rectangle boards
