A great video of my home territory. Its nice to see the view from the front of a route I travel very often. All we need is for you to somehow magically produce videos of the Falmouth and Newquay branch lines to complete the full set of Cornish lines. Keep up the good work

Actually watching this video from my kitchen window on a cold drizzly morning mid October looking at the Truro Viaduct watching the trains pass over. I travelled over this lone thousands of times most probably but never seen the view from the cab. Have to say that I couldn't see my kitchen window from your film and unfortunately, the driver doesn't seem to get the best view of our wonderful cathedral as we do from the passenger side.
Great video, I'll be returning to it many times. Thanks.
By the way, Truro Viaduct is the longest in Cornwall and is the second viaduct built. If you walk in the Daubuz Moors underneath the viaduct you can still see the remains of the old viaduct too.

Only we UA-camrs and the drivers have seen the view from the cab. Exhilarating, to say the least.

On a visit to UK I walked under the Truro viaduct. Such as these are adornments to the landscape as much as they are practical. My forebears came from near Truro to settle here in Australia in the 1840s.

When Grampound Rd and Probus signal boxes were abolished, control did not pass to Par. That came later, under the disastrous scheme to single the line between Burngullow and Probus in 1987 which was happily redoubled (still controlled from Par) in 2003. From the 1970s until 1987 the block section simply became longer, ie between Burngullow and Truro boxes.
By the way, from next month (Feb 2024) Lostwithiel, Par and Truro boxes close and all of mid-Cornwall between Bodmin Pkwy and Chacewater will be controlled from a workstation at Exeter.

I learned to pause. But mainly, I am going to review the video, I save all of that for the next time. Take the trip, then pick. Good motto.

Awesome video, great start to 2021! What branch line services in Cornwall are operated with the class 158 stock?

Great video, but some of the commentary seems a little out. Camborne doesn't have a 'U' in it, and the line to Newquay left Chacewater on the same level as the main line, back towards Redruth, branching off in a triangular junction where you see the A30. It never went under the viaduct.

Thanks for the comment. Getting to a cab window on the outside is not possible most of the time unless you are lucky with platforms. Whilst we do always try to get the best , we are at the behest of the traction unit operator. Sorry.

Why are there a lot of semaphore signals, it looks like a heritage line? We have a resident at an elderly facility who worked on British Railways Southern Region changing semaphore signals to color aspect signals.

It has taken them that long to replace. They have prioritised far higher used routes for resignalling over these lesser used country routes.
