At 19.35 - Brent station evokes interesting memories of a superb OO gauge exhibition layout which I saw on several occasions at the annual Model Railway show which used to take place in Melbourne each year in the 1990s. How accurate it was as a model of the real thing I cannot say, but my perception is that a great deal of effort had been put into as faithful a re-creation of the layout and buildings, including the start of the branch, as is possible. It was a huge undertaking , probably at least 10 metres square in a continuous circuit configuration. I still have some VHS video of it but I'm not sure if it is still playable.

I had intended this summer to make this journey from my home in Plymouth, changing at Newton Abbot to travel on to Dawlish for a day of amateur photography. Sadly the Covid-19 nightmare scuppered my plans. Hopefully next summer. The Devon countryside is a sight to behold and nice to see it from this point of view for a change.

Beautiful film. Relaxing enjoying ride. I mute the sound anyway, so it was just fine. This line from Penzance was not a cheap endeavor. There are a plethora of viaducts, tunnels, and cuttings. I see Dr. Beeching went through here about 1960! Thanks for taking me along. Stay well, and we’ll ride again on the “other side” of this.

Lovely part of the country and the weather was good as well, Penzance to Exeter is a very scenic journey and at a speed where you can enjoy it.

Please, please please!!!! Great videos but why do you not leave the captions displayed for a longer period so it is actually possible to read them without having to pause and wind back the video so one can complete reading what has been written. We are not all speed readers.

The skies of south Devon looked more grey than blue to me - and it was interesting to see the HST visibly slowing down on the steep 1:40 climb up Hemerdon Bank! The GWR main line between Plymouth and Newton Abbot didn't look nearly as curvaceous from the cab as I'd been expecting!

Really enjoyed this video. However I must point out the error in the caption for Totnes at 26:36. The Buckfastleigh line actually opened as a heritage railway in April 1969 as the Dart Valley Railway. It changed ownership in 1991 to the South Devon Railway Trust.

Just a thought regarding the comment from Ersy100; would it be possible to scroll the captions across the bottom of the screen? If not, no worries (I appreciate your reply to that comment.) 🐨🇦🇺

I really enjoy these vids but could I please ask that you leave the comments on screen just a little longer so I can hit the pause button. At 73 years young I find my eyesight and speed reading abilities somewhat curtailed.
