I have diagnosed BPD which is what she said she has and I do understand what's she's trying to describe but she's describing it badly. Like everybody has multiple trains of thought at one time, that's a basic human thing, but with BPD it's more that those trains of thought don't feel like they're actually coming from you. Definately doesn't make you insane at all, it isn't like other people talking to you it's more like your brain is trying to harass you into shutting down, which is a thing people with BPD do a lot. I don't think I even described it right but it is slightly different 😊

The bipolar is like a climate that changes between a gloomy world to bright and wonderful back and forth, and the BPD is like the weather, the storms that come through, and you never know if it's gonna be thunder, or a tornado, or rain, you name it. The bipolar is horrible because, type 2 tends to have the worse depression out of the Bipolar types. Like, really horrible. I spent two months breaking down every single day. No, this isn't a result of not emotionally abusing your child. This is actually more likely a result of these children's parents NOT giving them enough attention, and validation as a parent. So they seek it out on the internet.
You're not actually supposed to just sit your child down one day, and say "You're not special, Timmy. Fuck off." You're suppose to raise them to be people with a healthy self esteem. What pisses me off about the whole "singlet" thing is that before the TikTok attention whores got their hands on it, it was honestly just a neutral term used in DID non-medical literature (self help, experience diaries, etc etc) that meant..."someone who doesn't have DID". That was literally it. It got shortened from "singleton", and it was never used as a slur or an insult, just as a word to differentiate people (ie, "your singleton friends may have questions, so be patient with them", so on). The word that was used for a non-DID person who was being an ass was "sniglet", at least online for a tiny bit, but "singlet/on"? TOTALLY. NEUTRAL. When I was finally diagnosed with ADHD, it was such a relief and I regretted wasting so much time fighting with myself, not allowing myself to believe there was anything wrong with me.
I guarantee you that a reputable doctor _will_ be able to tell you are genuinely struggling and be able to diagnose you accurately as long as you're honest and forthcoming with everything you're going through. Pro Tip: Something most people don't know is that you should never stick with any healthcare professional if you just don't vibe with them, especially mental health. If the first doc you see doesn't quite connect with you, see another. So many people won't do that because they think it's rude and will insult the doctor. It won't. On the off-chance it does, it means that doctor isn't a good one.
Please don't wait to seek help. Untreated mental health issues only get worse, and it'll be the biggest most damaging regret of your life. I wish you the best of luck!

It was the most relieving part of my life, so even if you aren’t sure there’s a problem, but you think there might be. There’s no harm in at least getting checked by a licensed professional. The effects last even after chanting. I suggest 5 minutes after you wake up and 5 before you go to sleep to start and maybe throw in a few 2 minute sessions throughout the day. The point is to start to form a habit of shifting your brain into a positive thought pattern.
My main mantra is om mani padme hum but you can choose any that please you. People say there are sacred sounds and you can choose any of those as well. If your mind races and you can't focus on the mantra then go faster until it matches the rate of your new thoughts forming. Set a timer. I can promise the world won't burn if you focus on calming your mind for 5 minutes :) actually if it does burn I can tell you for a fact you will be more effective if you have honed your focus like this.
Or just do mindfulness meditation on the breath or spine give it 10 years you'll be almost enlightened 😂😂😂 the point of all of these things are making a practice of peacefulness that eventually doesn't end when you get up from meditation and your whole like becomes your meditation.

I'll tell you what mental illness feels like. I was diagnosed with a severe depressive disorder at 13 (runs in the family) and severe OCD (runs in the family). There's more to it, but I'll keep it short.
My depression; managed, fine, I struggle sometimes, but overall good! Now my OCD is a nightmare. It's not tapping, it's not patterns, or any of those commonly mentioned symptoms. For me it's the obsessing. My home is never clean despite cleaning it almost every day. Is everything's placement perfect, Feng Shui, that type of deal. I obsess over everything; finances, my pets, cleanliness, it keeps me awake at night, you name it. For example, if something bad happens that day, it'll trigger a downward spiral. I'll notice every little thing that happens that day and I'll just mentally snap. I have to be in control. No one ever really is allowed to drive me places because I HAVE to be the one driving. I am easily overwhelmed and then I lose my ability to concentrate. Everything becomes this jumbled mess in my head and I can't function the way I want to.
Due to the compulsory aspect, I sometimes develop tics (not tourettes) where I make a sound in the back of my throat, or sniff a lot, or I'll move my jaw/head and neck a certain way....I've injured myself because of that. Tics aren't fun and cute. They're annoying
There is rarely a quiet moment in my head, and it's awful.
    It's truly a nightmare.
The fact that these kids are out here making MH out to be some quirky, funny, personality trait makes me so angry.
    Sorry, needed to rant

    • @cmm3699
      @cmm3699 2 роки тому +4

      I feel you dude.
My OCD is more counting based though, not cleaning. However, if someone touches anything of mine without telling me I will know.
Anyways, I obsess over certain numbers. Some are good, some are okay, and some are very bad.
I’ve had to “cope” with this by making the “bad numbers” into divisions, subtractions, additions, and/or multiplications of the “good numbers”.
For example: food needs to be cooked for 10 minutes in the oven, K, 10 is just 2x5 and 5 is just 2+3, or 10 is 7+3. 15 is (6x2)+3. 26 is just the number 2 and the number 6, or 26 is (7x3)+5 (and the 5 is then 2+3 in my mind).
The things I count are things people wouldn’t notice unless I told them. So, I’m not that stereotype of flicking light switches on and off, or closing doors multiple times. What I do is things like counting in my head every single time I gulp water, the amount of times the water made that little bump when it was flowing into my cup (idk how to explain that better, but hopefully you know what I mean), or how many scoops of food I used when feeding my animals.
It’s still a struggle, obviously, but at least now I’m not absolutely refusing to do things in order to avoid those numbers.
However, if I get too much anxiety about things not adding up correctly I will have “tics”. I definitely have damaged a nerve in my neck a few times from doing it.
I would absolutely love to get rid of my MH issues, yet there are people out here glorifying it, and even trying to manifest it. I would do anything to just feel a smidge of “normalcy”.

I actually once got 51/50d many years ago because I was posting weird shit on fb, and my friend in another state was able to get a hold of my family, and call the police to get a wellness check on me. I’m beyond glad she did because I probably would’ve died that day without her help.

This must be confusing for the mental health workers that are trying to understand and treat the genuine diagnosis. I think a lot of fakers (not all though...) actually think that they are right, which isn't weird I guess.. They don't know what all of these diagnoses are actually like, and even being an ordinary human person with thoughts and a life is super complex. How do you seperate a voice in your head from a "loud thought" if you've never experienced actually hearing voices? I guess people are struggling to seperate their role-playing hobbies, that may very well be helpful for them, from actual DID. Or maybe I'm naive hoping it's not "on purpose".
Diagnoses aren't supposed to be given unless the issue is actually causing problems in the persons life. They're not given for self-exploration alone, meaning you could have a degree of autism for example, like "technically" without actually _having autism_.
DISSOCIATION IS NOT VOLUNTARY AND THAT COUNTDOWN CRAP IS THE DUMBEST SHIT I'VE SEEN. That was just a normal "finally I'm alone" face. That's literally social intelligence, everyone puts on a facade to some degree.

That being said, this girl very well could have BPD, there’s really no way of telling unless you have been around people with this same disorder. Again, as someone in the professional field of mental health and cognitive disorders, specifically regarding children and youth, it is mind boggling to see the lengths these people go to to fake having a diagnosis. There are specific criteria that a person has to meet in order to receive a diagnosis. In regard to Borderline Personality Disorder, having multiple thoughts is NOT a diagnostic criteria. In fact, everyone is capable of having multiple thoughts at once. When they’re racing and intrusive, usually those can be associated with Adverse Anxiety and attention deficit disorders. As for DID, this is a RARE disorder that can be developed after LONG and SEVERE periods of traumatic experience. It is also NOT a factor of DID to overtly display their change in identity (alters) for long periods of time. More often than not, a change in identity is triggered by stress or being exposed to a traumatic situation. Therefore, it cannot happen when a person wants and the person also has no control of the switch. So all these people claiming to have DID are literally openly displaying how fake their claim is.

BPD (as mentioned by the girl talking rapidly) is not like everyday normal voices. You do get overstimulated, I describe it as having lots of movies running in my head at the same time. I have to take meds to bring the inner monologue down to a more functional level. Before I was having trouble focusing externally. I dissociate also (and you CAN’T force disassociation), I go into myself like in a protective bubble and am unaware of the outside things to the point I can lose chunks of time. People with BPD (borderline personality disorder) also suffer attachment disorder where they will do things like put up with anything to stay with someone because they are so afraid of what would happen without them or push people away so they can’t hurt them. We may confuse what was said with what was meant and have irrational responses in relation to the comment such as immediately flying into anger. Another symptom I have is always thinking people are talking about me to the point where if I walk away from a group conversation I will fixate on what they might be saying about me. I know that girl looked like she was on speed but I do speak fast, loud, and for a long time when my anxiety is really high and rely on others to help me calm down…….so perhaps she wasn’t faking BPD at all?
Distinction in BPD (borderline personality disorder) you will have a lot of internal chatter but it is all your monologue…..in DID (dissociative identity disorder) you have multiple personas that you become at any given time. BPD is not DID!

I have BPD. And yes, I am having 'voices' but it's not like that in this video. It's more like someone telling me that I am not enough, that I'm somehow 'broken', that I should function. The meanest one is the "you know that all your friends are talking behind your back" thought. But I know that many people have these thoughts and they are suffering as well, it's not necessarily a sign of BPD.

Okay homie, I know you say things are good for mental health, but do know we just went through a traumatizing pandemic, and a lot of kids parents are ridiculously awful and don't even respect their most basic rights. I know not every kid is like that, but I've met enough and seen enough during my journey through improving my own mental health to know that there is still an epidemic. Some of the things they were listing were just symptoms of trauma, which they tried to explain with other disorders (which definitely isn't right, but there is an underlying issue in the first place) just please be a little less harsh on individuals. Definitely continue to discourage the spread of false information and advocate for seeking help from trained therapists and other practicing mental health workers

If someone you know posts a video showing them passing out in the driver’s seat of their vehicle, it doesn’t actually matter whether you believe them, you forward that video to the DVLA with their name and contact details. They could kill themselves, they could kill their passengers, they could kill total strangers. We’ve all heard some horrific story about a family and their kids getting wiped out by someone who blacked out at the wheel, or fell unconscious, or had a seizure. It’s not okay to promote the idea that knowingly getting behind the wheel of a vehicle with a disorder that could cause you to lose awareness is funny or cool or in any way okay. You shouldn’t have your licence in that situation, nor should you be eligible for one in the future if the situation is not able to be medically resolved.

The multiple trains of thought/racing thoughts video sounds more like a description of a manic episode to me especially if it involves being hyperactive and unable to focus on what people are saying to you... Although to be sure, this is something to talk to a professional about, not some random on the internet even more so than other disorders people like to self diagnose with since issues involving mania would primarily be treated with medication.

Having many thoughts especially for woman is normal. Studies have shown, biology wise, woman typically can trail into many different thoughts at a time. Not saying this doesn't happen to men but it's more prominent in woman. Our brains are constructed a bit differently gender wise and woman just have extended compound thoughts. I wish I could only think of why glue doesn't stick to the inside of the bottle haha. But I gotta think of 20 other different things. My husband and I joke about it all the time cause I'm a mess 🤣

I mean alters can have Disorders or illnesses innerworld depending how complex the innerworld is for that system but like they wouldn't effect the body when they front if the system doesn't have that illness. Some alters experience illnesses different to others aswell . For example if a system was also autistic, one alter may experience more or different symptoms to another , it's all dependent on what role that alter plays systems wise tbh

I'm Sure other's have mentioned this, but the 2nd chick, the hyper one, specified she was talking about BPD. And yeah, I have days like that. And it's pretty freakin draining that I can't escape my Me's. It is not fun at all. It's like being trapped in a room with all the worst people from your upbringing, and they can't physically touch you(until one does and self harm happens) and they just won't shut up and all you can do is shrink into a corner and try soothe rocking yourself and sob. Except there is No one else there and those screaming thoughts in your head are your own...

So basically she's saying people with Anxiety and shit actually have DID, the super rare disorder that was so rare they made a movie about it? The only mental disorder they have is that one where people want to be disabled in some form. I feel like they think DID is easier for them to pretend than blinding yourself or something.

    • @deaddreamerss0ciety895

If you listen back she says BPD, which is more common than did. A lot of anxiety symptoms do overlap with BPD which is why what she described definately could be a symptom of BPD she just did a bad job describing it 😊 I only know this because I have diagnosed BPD and I just thought I'd help people in the comments who thought she said DID. Hope this helps ☺️

"People with BPD have the hardest time explaining this" You shouldn't, you shouldn't be explain anything a trained & qualified mental health professional should. You have no more knowledge on any disorder then any average person who did a bit of google research, actually probably less so because of the obvious bias and false associations they make. In the same way being overweight doesn't make you a diet expert or being a trust fund kid doesn't make you a money making guru. Ignoring theses people obviously clout chasing/attention seeking would be the best option and minimize the damage they are doing, but hey lets just keep making videos on them every single week. your complicit in this, knowingly so.

Yeah. More often than not I'm confused about my own illnesses and how they work because my head's a mess.
As you said: a therapist is the person who should be explaining those kinds of things, not the patients.
I can repeat what my therapist said to me but I'm not going to try and do it all by myself, then I wouldn't even need a professional in the first place.
And I agree. I used to enjoy their videos quite a bit but 1. now those people in them just enrage me for no reason and make me question myself and my illnesses.
      2. It's giving them the attention they so desperately crave and don't deserve.
