  • In this fly tying tutorial, Cheech ties the easiest leech you will ever tie, the Fritz Leech!
For the past two years I have been trying to come up with the ultimate leech in regards to simplicity. I would always look at my fly boxes and realize that I had WAY too many leech variations, and I wanted one fly that could be stripped, fished under an indicator, or fished in a midge tip fly line, etc. This is the bug that I ultimately settled on, and it’s been an absolute killer in my boxes. Some of my favorite colors are olive (as seen), black with chartreuse bead, or claret/wine with gold or metallic pink bead. These have caught picky fish everywhere I’ve gone, and I have a box full of them now!

So years ago when my brothers and I were young, dad would set us up sweatshop style to crank out flies for the summer in AK. Tied many a leach over the years, I'll add this one to the tool box of tricks. I like the addition of the heavier beads and bent hook shanks. I remember dad getting those ball chains by the foot and olive marabou by the gallon bag 😂

I've been tying that for over 40 years with a green Marabou body and a green maribou tail the best simple damsel fly imitation out there. On a size 12 Sprout hook.

For my size 14+ leaches, I use the fluff from the marabou as dubbing for the body.

You can basically tie this same fly much easier as the Snowhite Damsel. Ostrich plume and bead chain.

Hey guys! Great video! I heard a buzzing in the background and it was kinda distracting. If the buzzing was gone, it would make the video so much more enjoyable! Just thought that that could help improve future videos. Thanks guys at FFF for the awesome content and keep up the awesome work!
That could also just be my ears though.
