Welcome back? Peter, we never left. BTW I hope people are stocking up on these 2.7s while they still can.

2009 base model 5-lug Master Race checking in. My truck is a Timberland Green short bed regular cab 2wd with an automatic transmission and air conditioning. Everything works. No leaks. I work on cars for a living and just wanted something as reliable as the Hyundai Accent I drove for years and fell in love with. It is like a Hyundai pickup and that is high regard in my book. Perfect, no. It is slow, dowdy, but will never depreciate. Bought it used from the original owner. Completely stock. What a great truck.

I bought a 2022 2TR-FE Tacoma last March. I am guessing I may have bought the last ones ever made. I am changing the oil like crazy on it to keep it forever because these can last forever and ever if you take care of them. (And with all the new fuel efficient 3 cylinder turbo charge direct injection complicated engines being designed...... we need to keep these 2TR-FE's as long as possible.

Great!!!!!! Finally, this is the same engine as I have on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma SR 4X4 Long Bed. Can't wait to see future videos on this truck. This truck with this engine has a totally different oil filter than the 6-cylinder model.

@@brianbumgardner8704 If you have lots of money the TRD Pro still comes in manual as do one or two other Tacomas. I have driven several 4 cylinder manuals and they were all slow enough for the lane I drive in.

I recently did some maintenance including throttle body cleaning. The gasket screen below the throttle body had black soot caked up pretty bad. I was surprised. Idon't know where this came from but the throttle valve was also dirty, even with a clean air filter maintenance done regularly. Thanks for the good video.

Many recommend to not move the throttle body plate by hand but instead to have the ignition key in the "On" position and depress the gas pedal and hold the gas pedal down with a stick or similar object. Moving the tb plate by hand makes it necessary to have the idle reprogrammed because the computer cannot readjust the idle itself according to some.

The aluminum bracket on the rear bolt of the resonator (first time at 5:12 and very good view at 6:38) is included with most aftermarket cold air intake kits. That vacuum sensor is normally bolted to the back of the resonator, so when you delete the resonator, you just need a bracket to mount it so it's not flopping around. Pretty good hint that someone had been modifying the vehicle and tried to put it back to stock.

Thank you for your videos. They are very easy to follow. I have a 2009 4x4 extended cab with the 2.7 and 5 speed. It has 105,000 miles. I have used your videos to help my son with his 1998 4runner 4x4, especially the valve cover gasket and timing belt videos. Now it is time to do some preventative work on my Tacoma!

i have a power steering leak on a 2004 gx470. I can see that the air control valve on the system is broken and a vacuum line is missing. Could the broken air control valve make the system over pressure causing the leaks im dealing with on the power steering pressure hoses?
thanks for any help. love your videos keep up the good work.

Per the owner manual for this engine calls for 6.1 quarts of oil. But it shows overfilled on the dipstick with 6.1 quarts. Should I go by the owner manual or the dipstick.

    • @IKnewMickey
