Barro Negro from Oaxaca Mexico | Castaway Shorts

This video is part of a series we are calling Castaway Shorts. These Shorts will focus on portions of our travel videos that we may not have had the opportunity to elaborate on as much as we would have liked to.
This video is about Barro Negro, the beautifully handcrafted pottery from Oaxaca, Mexico. The pottery is created through a very lengthy process that has been handed down from generation to generation in the San Bartolo Coyotopec community and includes underground fire pits that trap the minerals and ash to give the pottery its shiny and unique black surface.
