Rich people problems are like “damn, all these friends trying to get a piece”. Poor people problems are like “oh shit, I’m gonna have to risk getting pulled over because I can’t afford my new tags for another two weeks”.

I'm a Pipefitter. We build and repair any piping system you can imagine. Everything from offices, schools, hospitals up to chemical plants and oil refineries and everything in between. Everything that moves fluid or has a commercial air conditioning/heating system needs a large network of piping. We aren't rich, but they pay us more than you would expect as a bunch of blue collar individuals and probably 1/3rd aren't from this country and another 10% don't speak or read the English language. I say this to say that I receive 10+ emails a day along with many phone calls about jobs. They are desperately in need of more people and it is only getting worse and technically anyone can do it. Electricians are the same way. People have been taught to think that you can't make 100k working with your hands... and nothing could be further from the truth. Construction isn't going anywhere and the field is severely lacking in man power, we just need to educate our children about these type of opportunities.

I completely agree I finished schooling at 19 and was making 100k by the age of 25 being a mechanic. I hate that they teach kids that they will never be successful unless they have a degree of some kind. My high school counselor told me I would be a failure and never be able to support myself if I chose to be a mechanic, now I make 4 times her salary AND I love my job
especially plumbing and hvac and cleaning, id like to see them build a machine that gets them tight corners and small spaces. Or a machine that can refinish hardwood floors and cover and move your furniture all in one. Might be another 50-100 years lol

The difference is, being wealthy you have a staff to deal with your problems. Imagine having to do everything thing yourself(security/banking/lawsuits/stage setups/paying bills/shopping/medical) as a wealthy person. Not like playing monopoly! A poor person(job/bank/rent). More money, more problems. The rich stay running, the poor stay hunting.

Money doesn't buy happiness but it buys freedom. True happiness comes from feeling secure with yourself. If you're a millionaire and you don't have a girlfriend or spouse money is not going to fill that void of being lonely or having companionship. A poor guy coming home to a beautiful wife and kids that love him for him will always be of envy to someone who doesn't have that. Money can't buy you companionship, it can't buy you friendship, it can't buy you natural charisma, it can't buy you penis size or be good in bed. What it does buy you is freedom. Freedom of bills. Freedom of the mind from going into debt. Freedom of being able to get the best medical treatment and meds.
You are right, for me freedom and health is real happiness. I Got money but half paralyzed due to a car accident. i will give up 80 years of life to live 3 months healthy like i was having fun with not a lot of money

Vlad missed the point. Theres a difference between a shift in career and bringing in a robot to do your job. What vlad dont get is once the candle maker loses his job to the electrician he can easily go find another job. John sally is saying that in the future the candle maker wont be able to go anywhere else because every job will be taken by a robot. And financially supporting ai is a lot cheaper than a human. For a human u need to do things like make a break mandatory pay for medicare etc. For a robot all u need is a few people for maintenance every once in a while

NBA players and most athletes never had it bad or struggled considering they get drafted as a kid basically. when you're a kid or teen you haven't lived life yet and it doesn't matter if you are broke because you are still getting taken care of. Nothing compares to struggling as an adult when you're completely independent and have to fend for yourself, and maybe have dependents too.

If you're genuinely happy living in poverty, then you're prolly drunk, high off weed or even some type of hard drugs. I'd say learning to be genuinely happy with very little in your life while sober or no new for expensive entertainment is a true blessing from God. I am 44. When I was 22, my gf at the time, and the guy she was dating I wasn't aware of, took a mortgage out in my name using my ssn. I had no idea this had happened. We ended up going are separate ways eventually. Three years later, when I went to get an apartment for the first time, they ran a credit check and I was told I couldn't move in because of bad credit. I was surprised. I found out about the mortgage being on my credit. It destroyed my credit. Fast forward to now. For 20 years I have never been able to get a credit card, buy a car, get a house, be on a lease. Was this my fault? No. But, it has affected me my whole life and actually caused me to end up homeless twice. Social Security Numbers should not be connected to our credit. It is a major cause of homelessness

I think it's a difference between being Rich and Famous vs just being rich. The fame is what hurts people and causes a lot of the problems. You can't live in a certain area, have to maintain a certain status and have to watch your back.

I've been poor. Dirt poor. The sht I had to deal with was way worse than when I started getting money. It's different. The "problems" (not really problems) I have with money is because I CHOOSE to take them on. Supporting other people, buying the right properties, making the right investments etc. Those are more choice-based issues. Poor people are mostly forced into situations that they don't want to be in. The issue is that most people with money aren't really aware of who they are and can't contextualize their situation in a meaningful and fulfilling way. They succumb to too much social pressure and political pressure etc.
You have less problems when you’re poor but money makes problems go away. I rather be rich with problems that I can make disappear than poor and carefree.

As a mechanic ill be the one fixing all the robots and electrical systems if one day vehicles are obsolete. Any job in the trades will still be needed. We need to be pushing kids to these types of jobs instead of just telling kids they need some kind of college degree to be successful. You can make a damn good living working with your hands and will feel fulfilled at the end of the day
