My cousin went to hospital pain swallowing down in the throat thought was heart got to hospital it was terminal only had 2days left he passed after diagnosis
Thank you! I am 85 yo female with Barrett's Esophagus diagnosed by an endoscopy about 3 years ago. Since the diagnosis I have made major changes to my diet and take omeprazole rx daily. I still have a drink around the dinner meal. I am trying to get a second endoscopy but have yet to get a the local. GI md to agree. My age is one of the first reasons I am given. Bah humbug! Age is a number that doesn't tell you about the full life I lead! I want to know if my current diet is sufficient or do I need to be even more careful. The second GI my PCP contacted has yet to respond and I sense the negativity....it has been over 2 months! How can I be denied the opportunity to check the disease's progress because of my age?
My dad has this, and unfortunately he is not able to undergo surgery, his only option is chemotherapy which the main aim is to shrink it.i feel like I have been hit by a freii train
I'm so terribly sorry about your dad. My mom was diagnosed last week, she's 76 so surgery is not an option. Her oncologist has recommended radiation 5 days a week and chemo weekly. It all feels like a very bad dream.
@@brendajackson13same here 6-7 weeks ago my pops was diagnosed with stage 3-4 now I've seen him go from solid to skin and bone and more recently having more difficulty talking due to collapsed lung chemo did nothing at all and now he is terminal and probably only has days left to live at this point its a cruel cancer seeing someone fade so quickly and their is little to do about it and not much time to really say goodbye.
My dad aged 53 was diagnosed a week and a bit ago. He has it near the stomach so has a laparoscopy booked. From CT scan it’s in his lymph nodes in small volume around his oesophagus and in lymph node by the liver. It’s annoying NHS takes a while to relay information like with PET scan we kept in the dark.
@@chapers6719 my dad passed away, the NHS kept delaying things and making mistakes and in the cancer spread into the stomach, heart and entire esophagus.... Had they taken my dad's complaints seriously, he would have still been alive, from last year September he was complaining about stomach pain, and the doctors were so slow in doing any investigations. Throughout this whole ordeal, I felt like they just left my dad to die, instead of trying to help him.
Endoscopy revealed distal esophageal plaques that were seen and biopsied should I be worried? I'm mentally killing myself with worry. had a normal Z-line, but there were some small distal esophageal plaques. This was biopsied and sent off the table for specimen. Help should I be worried?
@asdasdasdqwe123 we don't know until we try. Prolong fasting helps too and eating anti cancer foods like garlic look up dr. Berg foods to fight cancer.

@Jonathan Salo MD I had recent endoscopy with the following findings: Sizable Oesophagus Tumour (distance 24 cm, length 6 cm), fragile & bled easily on biopsies (6 taken) likely on Barrett's background. This was followed yesterday with a CT CAP with contrast & waiting for results. Can you please explain to me what is meant by (distance 24 cm & length 6 cm)? What is meant by distance? Your help will be geatly appreciated.
@@aamalik2310 Thank you for asking. I am feeling very unwell. After 2 CT scans followed by a PET Scan I was told by the oncologist that the histopathology report was incorrect that I have stage 4 metastatic cancer which has spread to the sternum and because of my age + several comorbities I am not suitable for surgery, radiotherapy or immunotherapy. I am now waiting to have 2 large kidney stones to be surgically removed before I can start chemo. I am feeling very weak; no energy at all and the cancer is causing me pain in my chest, shooting up to the back of my throat, back teeth and the back of my eye.. If I were a dog I would be put down, but because I'm a human being they need to be seen to be doing something just to delay the inevitable. If I decide not to have the treatment, I will probably last for about a year. I am really annoyed at the pathologist's report to say I was stage 3 cancer with no metastasis, especially when I worked in that department with my head of department attending my MDT meeting.
my mother in law is also been suffering from stage 4 esophagus cancer ,doctor has suggested chemo next week ...any suggestion will be highly appreciated...
I should definitely go back to my old gastroenterologist. I always had chronic heartburn since I was in my mid 20's and it hasn't gotten better. Sleep apnea and chest pain have been a result of this. Don't wanna risk possible cancer from this, if it isn't too late already.
@@OTBASH Videos like this make you worried right lol? I was very worried but good thing I got my endoscopy done last week. I was diagnosed with Gastritis.
I noticed any question about Esophagus , seems like people just doesn't want to answer the question , especially the G.I. doctors. If that's the case , why even become a G.I. Specialist in the first place . I went to 2 GI doctors and I asked basis questions and NOT one of them , would even answer it . I know I don't trust those first , two GI doctors , they shouldn't of went to Medical School , etc.
Its been a couple years of the feeling that something is stuck in my throat. Its always the same spot but occasionally it feels like I could cough it up. Sometimes it feels like its blocking my throat and other times, its barely noticable. Ive had nasal polyps abd a certai n amount of undiagnosed body inflammation with bronchiectasis after aspergillus lung infection and glomerelonephritis kidney failure (now in 'remission') with negative genetic testing and adult onset CF testing. Im frustrated that ENT only scoped my throat and told me it was anxiety. The 2nd ENT barely scoped my throat but it definitely was more than 1st ENT did. Im concerned something is starting and no one is addressing it.
Agreed I am currently a year on recovering from surgery/chemo making good progress but the whole thing has been a bit of a nightmare to be honest and the fall out is huge in the rest of your life.
@@sam-vo5dg I was diagnosed early luckily lockdown made me go to see my GP. Normal times I’d have ignored or delayed and I wouldn’t be here today. Is there a non-invasive way to detect esophageal cancer? I would not want a long tube crammed down by throat.
it's ok because they put you to sleep so you don't feel anything, i'm having one done soon.
UK Imperial College has developed a breath test, it’s still in phase but if you’re in the area that’s something.
