Jimmy’s assassination of the Mesa Verde legal team is probably the most classic Saul Goodmaning we’ve seen in BCS. That’s a move like filing the restraining order against the DEA or conning Jesse’s parents out of the house
The Mesa Verde commercial sequence is the embodiment of everything Chuck ever feared from law degree Jimmy--the skilled lawyer and greasy con man in perfect lockstep. Chimp with a machine gun indeed.
Yes but after the commercials scene, the intellectual property case was very smart and ethical. He was like a bulldog. Smart, effective and very active lawyer with a solid case. Maybe not formal like Chuck but still nice talkative skills. I think he shows them both of the sides of the madallion.
Jimmy ambushing Mesa Verde is one of my favorite scenes of the whole series. The way he just pulled one trick after another was remarkable and hilarious. A room full of high ranking executives and lawyers are no match for him. He is pure Saul Goodman, a relentless force of nature. And there’s such great character development for Kim too. This is the moment Kim realized that Jimmy is fully out of her control, and she sees the full capacity of what Saul Goodman is capable of, and as we see later she fully buys into Saul.
You could also say that apart of what made him strong enough to outsmart them was that Chuck trained him to a certain extent, yet Jimmy parlayed that into strengthening his conning skills when there relationship became permanently estranged
I LOVE that detail at 6:27 with the bullet hitting its target before you can hear the shot. Most movies and shows wouldn’t have bothered with that, and just make the sound and impact simultaneous
Lalo is the most intimidating character in the whole show (edit: arguably? 👀), and yet when Kim gives him the "You need to get your house in order" speech he looks like 16yo me being yelled at by my mother tryina keep it cool but secretly dying inside
@@nont18411 I'd highly doubt Kim would give that speech if she was facing Tuco. She is smart enough to use different tactics to different people (just like how Jimmy used that 'Fair' speech to Tuco).
@@nont18411 Tuco would’ve never noticed the car on the ditch or the bullet holes. They’re facing Lalo because he’s smart enough to put the pieces together and confront Jimmy about it. Proof of that is that Tuco stayed in jail for months and Lalo just for days when Tuco made a way less serious crime.
Lalo mirrors Saul in many ways. He deals in trickery and flair, flair that flatters even Don Eladio into giving him a hero's welcome to his home, despite how little he earns for the Cartel. Kim knew how to deal with Lalo because she knows how to deal with Jimmy.
I'm spanish and something that I find funny at 6:26 and always wondered if it was intentional or not from the script is that Jimmy tries to say "abogado! el amigo del cartel" which means "lawyer, the friend of the cartel" but in the way he spells it, instead of "el amigo" it sounds like "elemigo" which is very close in pronunciation to "enemigo". So basically a spanish speaker could understand that he is saying that he is an enemy of the cartel, lol.
En especial la segunda vez que lo dice jajajaja, la primera más o menos oyes la intención de "el amigo" pero cuando lo repite se escucha clarito como "enemigo del cartel"
Oof this probably unpopular but for me this is a tie with 3, with 3 still possibly still being my favorite season. Idk for me the conflict between Chuck and Jimmy was so compelling and Chicanery is one of the best episodes of any TV show I've ever seen and still probably favorite episode of the show.
Lalo... omg when he was being told off you can see that even crazy cartel bosses need a time out sometimes. He looked so small and looked like he wanted to say " YA well he started it!"
@@therealwelfin That’s exactly what they’ll do when the time comes. I just meant it sucks we’ll never get to see Robert Forster play the character ever again. And it’s right when his character probably would’ve played a big role in the final season
Kim’s the legitimate DEFINITION of a ride or die. Love her so much and the character that she is grown into, Jimmy has no right to have her do so much for him. Haven’t watched any of season 6 yet (gonna start my 7 day trial for AMC Plus tm lol) but I have a feeling something is going to be just too much for her and she’ll leave Jimmy, if she doesn’t end up killed. Whatever it is, nobody spoil it for me, but I’m excited to see how her story pans out.
There were so many amazing scenes in this season! I think they chose the most flashy and action-packed moments on purpose, because some of the moments after these scenes were awesome, and could have been included (except that they slow the pace for the compilation, probably) too. Like when Saul has left the room after pressuring Mesa Verde, and everyone freaks out with Kevin just staring on, or the moment when Mike finds Jimmy and notes that he's in shock. I love the acting there.
“I’m worried that Kim will die but I’m quite fine with Jimmy because he will go to prison so he won’t die.” Going in jail doesn’t mean being survive til the end in this show. After all, the “Pick yourself up” montage in Breaking Bad exists and the first casualty was a lawyer.
@@nont18411 what do you mean overestimating jimmy's plot armor? he's literally in breaking bad lmao he isnt going to die we know that. Or do you mean the future flashbacks of him at Cinnabon?
While I think Kim dying is entirely possible, I think she either goes to jail getting caught in a scheme or disappears using the vacuum store. I think a con goes wrong and jimmy will have to decide between helping her or hanging her out to dry, which he does. Alternatively, if she is going to die I think it's possible she's running a con on jimmy and it will backfire and him being a "friend of the cartel" earns him some protection and she goes down.
10:55, Kim is standing in Lalo's crosshairs... initially was wondering why they had Mike pointing it at her and not off to the side until he could get a shot on Lalo. Very good symbolic shot 👀
