This is world class Boogie Woogie, great musicians playing great music. Please tell those guys they are cooking. More of this superb music from Robben is what the world needs right now. Thanks a million. Peace and Love!
RF is such an amazing, amazing player with the _ne plus ultra_ of taste. But I can't say he touches many emotions and that's sorta his big Achilles heel. A far lesser player like Eric Clapton is much more memorable because he does exactly that. Never understood that about RF. Almost every single Robben Ford song goes: [intro] [mildly interesting verse 1] [mildly interesting verse 2] [chorus] [killer insane amazing intergalactically tasty guitar solo] [mildly interesting verse 3] [chorus] [chorus]
Wonderful, really appreciate that you gave the spotlight to the members of the big band that's so cool ! Can only imagine how thrilled those guys were to play with you ! It's super groovy ! Not to mention that you sounds absolutely fabulous with a gritty sound but so much clarity !
When visit guitar center there's usually a younger ( than me..like everybody is younger than me 😀) person playing some heavy metal power chords and distorting everything. Death metal licks and power chords. I always think about what they hear in their heads..what they're tuned into. I always wonder what would happen if they listened TO THIS! Robbens level of playing and masterful use of chords is inspiring . I would wish this experience on young players to inspire. He makes it look and sound so natural and easy. It's not easy. Really just amazing.
I love a big band sound in "standard" blues......opens it up so much more.....Luther Allison throws keyboards in......also Papa Bear Greg Allman...great music
Nice but too bad the cameras miss your entrance in the solo you've made and they are not in the good angle to capture well what's happened in this song. Always the mic in front of your playing. However it's good to ear it. Thank you 🙏👍😊
I’ve tried to talk and take a picture with the huge Robben , but not happen . Sounds like Robben Ford , independent of the guitar! The ‘new effect’ thing sounds strange to me , mainly in a gig with an organist , but I understand that an artist need to change sometimes ; I really miss an great bassist in this gig … even with a great organist , I do like much more an ‘blue line trio like‘ performance than that …
I'm unsure why nobody's commenting on the es335 player in the back. Getting that good of blues tones out of an es335 without resorting to screaming distortion like Clapton used in his Cream era is a monumental challenge. Is there a chance he was playing thru one of Ford's Dumble amps? We'll never know because camera men and video producers are just going thru the motions operating very expensive high-end equipment, possibly with college degrees in communication, but don't have a clue about their audiences want to see. Things like pedalboards, amp faceplates, volume and tone knob settings, guitar chord connections, guitar headstocks..
@williamgadol350 And all without taking a single breath!!! 🤣 Hopefully Junior will LISTEN to the solo following his and learn/listen to how solo’s can peak a listener’s interest. 🤷♂️
He should be, though. That Was a brillant solo in it's own right. No need to compare to robbens' solo. Two different styles of playing, simple as. Plus, it would have been rather boring for the listener to have to sit through 2 identically structured Solos. No harm done here, just two great guitarist doing their own Individual thing.
@@CarstenNeugebauer I was pointing out that the other guy played 12 bars 3 times (which is fine) but then played one more bar, which is not OK. You can play 12, 24 or 36 bars but not 13, 25, 37... It makes it awkward for the next guy.
Aah a big band playing with a man who is a genius when it comes to finding the right spaces to play in. Bliss 🎉

I knew Robben back in the 70's in Boulder Colorado. He was studying at Naropa. He was a happy peaceful, Zen kind of guy.
What a great performance Robben! Brilliant Big Band! Thank you!
This is a feast with plenty! Thank you! :)
Thank you, Robben! It is great to hear these shuffles and love your recent work with Scary Pockets.
Show us how it is done Master, thanks for the joy in this😊

Robben is so great bluesman!!!Love his music and his personality!!🤠✌🏼
oh man.. dude on the double-cut sounding great
Robben always finds a good balance between harmonic exploration and direct emotional impact when he plays the blues.

Beautiful man! ❤
Not sure if I'd want to be another guitarist taking a solo in this setting with Mr. Ford 😉
I’ve never heard Robben sing before. Pretty good voice.
Check out "North Carolina" from 1979.
Mmm....
@@guitarman6742 I must’ve been in a really good mood.

Just wow.. Wow
Grande Robben Ford❤
At 0:53 interesting signaling to the stage sound engineer while singing. Great artist!!
Yup. Points to voice mike, points up: "I want more monitor on my vocals" ... Waves quickly: "Thats enough".
@@davebowman6497 Or is it: "more vocals on my monitor"?......🙂
That is impressive to you?
@@artysanmobile Kind of!!!
