Robben Ford is a national - no - international treasure. I feel so fortunate and privileged to have attended several of his clinics in Ojai, California; to have seen him live numerous times at intimate venues like The Baked Potato, The Catalina Club, and Yoshi's. He is, and always will be my most important guitar hero. I love you Robben!
Really great and I couldn't agree more about his tone and his dynamics. Really incredible mastery of his instrument and sophisticated playing. I "knew" about Robben Ford, but I didn't KNOW him like this. His playing is so tasteful. I love it.
Man! If your head doesn’t start to bob, foot tappin’, body shaking when listening to this groove, better check your pulse to make sure you’re still alive.

The look on Larry's face at 3:49 is priceless. You can tell he Missed the change, leaves some space, back in like nothing happened. A true master. Love it...
Haha, the screw up happened at 3:34. Robben Ford should have stopped there but added one extra bar instead. That threw off Larry Goldings for the remainder of the track; he had no idea when to stop or start. They pulled it off, though... Great tune!
@@bongo269 Yes I agree 3.34 Robben was scheduled to stop and Larry was thrown a bit when he didnt haha. I think thats what happened. Its a live take with awesome playing, love it.

Love seeing Robben Ford on here. I’ve been listening to his stuff for a while and it’s great to see he’s still killing it with some exceptional musicians.
Don't know how it happened but Jack Conte (love him since Pomplamoose home videos time) finally ended up playing with Golding and (OMG!) Robben Ford... My fav musicians playing together and this is smth I could not even imagine, really))) And this feels soooooo good!!!!
I was looking to see whether anyone commented on this. I loved that, as well. The best part is that if I hadn't seen his reaction, I probably wouldn't have thought he missed anything!

Great! Hello Robben from Cheryl (Lou Adler's exec. asst. for 20+ years; we met at Friar Park when you were recording with George-Tom Scott & The L.A. Express! I love your guitar solos; you are one of the very best! Hugs from Cheryl...if you remember!!
Beautiful, funky, soulful, bluesy, Robin your guitar work is virtually flawless. You guys can be authentically compared to the greats of old. Who ever recorded/engineered this should also be bought a beer and a grilled cheese sandwich for this amazing recording.
Robben Ford speaks with his hands, and he speaks volumes. Larry Goldings... too hot to be contained, and wonderfully so. Vibrant music... enough to "make you lose your mind" (and, again, wonderfully so).
Jack that was a “ton of fun.” Do you realize how rare it is to incorporate all ages in a creative environment? You are inviting players based on their contribution rather than just a similar age.
@@jeanclaudebossonney7520 I wish that were completely true. At least music is more tolerant of contrast and diversity than most pursuits. Scary Pockets works because - as you say - it's about the feeling.
First heard of Robben Ford back in 1993 when he was with the Blue Line (Mystic Mile). They were advertised as "The World's Greatest Blues Band!" And I've pretty much got everything he's put out since!
I heard Robben Ford for the first time at a Licorice Pizza in North Hollywood....It was a live bootleg and I was blown away....I asked who it was and the counter guy said he's a 19 year old kid named Robben Ford....Robben has only gotten better with age.
Please bring Robben back. It doesn’t get any better.

Oh sure, leave it to Robben to renew my faith in the 2020 guitar solo. That was some absolute doggone _unreasonable_ soloing from Mr. Ford!
why unreasonable?..it was an amazing solo, as always Robben delivers

Larry Goldings is one of the funkiest living beings on earth.
Larry's wearing DX7 while playing a B3.
I knew when I heard Larry on Chris Potter’s “Pure” album way back when that he was going to be one of my favorite keyboardists.
Absolutely. If you've never heard of Tony Monaco, check him out. Cut from the same cloth, just a monster organ player.
Will do!
I come back to this regularly. What a take!
Right on brother!
Robben Ford's sound and dynamics so amazing here. Amazing

It's the whole sound, however, Robben is definitely the man. What concerns me the most is that they don't make dudes like this anymore.
Man! If your head doesn’t start to bob, foot tappin’, body shaking when listening to this groove, better check your pulse to make sure you’re still alive.
This is some of the grooviest, funkiest, pocketiest piece of music I've heard in a VERY long time. Doesn't get much better than this!

Now I wanna see BOTH John Scofield and Robben Ford funkin' it up with this rhythm section, yo! The groove don't stop!
That would be very lovely
I want this song to play every time I walk down the street.

Ha! I'm getting myself a boom Box just so I can do that.
Best comment so far this year.
