I’m a bush fan and blue moon fan
The best beer is one someone else pays for, so this round is on me
THX FOR ALWAYS SHOWING LOVE BOLD HB!
The beer that got me into craft brew was Torpedo by Sierra Nevada. It was almost the complete opposite of what I was drinking at the time, coronas. That bitter, piney taste was something different and I knew I had to explore more.
Best video you’ve put out! I’ve been following for years. Always appreciated your content and it keeps getting better and better. Well done CH!
Beer that got me into craft beer: Bells Two Hearted IPA
Best beer I’ve ever had: Jackie O’s Black Mask. I drank it and instantly said it was the best beer I’ve ever had and it still is.
Bell's Two Hearted IPA way back in the late 90's/early 2000's - first microbrew (that I remember) and still a legit brew today. Cheers CH!
Swamis is DEFINATLY in the rotation for the exact reasons you mentioned, cheap and solid. I tell people that Pizza Port is my favorite brewery because no matter how many IPAs they put out you always know it will be solid. Favorite beer ever would have to be Pliny the Younger. Only got to try it once but it was GLORIOUS. My favorite everyday would be Chief Peak by Topa Topa located in Ventura.
Pizza Port inspired me to start my own WCIPA brewery on the east coast of Australia. My first trip to San Diego in 2011 was what gave me the push to go from brewing for someone else to brewing for myself. I had a second trip to San Diego in 2016 after I got married, we spent our honeymoon there as I my wife is amazing.
I have had beer in many cities, and many countries, though for me Pizza Port always nailed what I love about beer. Don't overthink it, offer good beer at a fair price, and make a space the whole family can enjoy!
it's like you make mini movies .. I take a huge breath and see if I can hold it till the end. Amazing B roll como siempre.
THX FOR SHOWING LOVE ON THE STREAM THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS NWSBB
My first craft beer was the "original" Harpoon Ale when it first got into distribution at Doyle's Pub JP Boston in 1987! I remember it like it was yesterday! I still love Harpoon but I think Sierra Nevada is my go to now. Great vid! Thanks CH! Cheers!
My all time favorite is Pliny . Heady topper 2nd ,lagunitas third , Sierra Nevada 4th, but now I’m into light beers , Maui brewing blonde , cigar city Maduro … all good !!!
Back in the saddle. Your videos are appreciated. Keep it stiff
Great video.
My first craft IPA may have been STONE, great. My all time fav is Duchesse De Bourgogne now.
Pils,Helles,IPA,Pales,Kentucky Common,Stouts,Porters. OH MY.
I agree with you about the Belgians (too sweet for me), but admire their complexity.
happy HOlidays!
This video is iconic! Feels so weirdly nostalgic but unfamiliar at the same time. I like
In Norcal here Mendocino Brewing Company was the first to come out with high ABV beers like Eye of the Hawk which was 8% before anyone really did that. Lagunitas followed soon after. That got me into the crafty beer.
Favorite beer... Good Morning Vietnam by Wooden Robot Brewing in Charlotte. If you get a chance go get it Braj!! CHEERS 🍻
Beer that got me into craft brew was Stone IPA. My brother introduced it to me and I spit it out (I was a Corona guy at the time). 20 years later I only drink craft beer and even make it. I miss San Diego. I was station there for 6 years. My brother was part owner of Savagewood Brewery off I15 and Scripps. Brewery is closed now. Great video.
Desert island beer: Breckenridge Brewery Juice Drop IPA.
Beer that started my home brew issues: Yuengling. Can’t get it here, so I made my own.
The beer that opened my mind and made me realize that beer was more than Coors, Miller, and Bud was Eagle Rock Brewery's Populist IPA. I took a tour of their brewery and smelled hops for the first time in my life and thought, "Wait... Beer can smell and taste like this?!" The best beer I've ever had though is Tree House's Julius on tap at their Charlton Brewery.
Cheers!
The best beer i’ve ever had is Juicy Bits by Weldworks Brewing.
I'm big into Foreland beer right now. I love their form follows IPA. There are so many great beers and Breweries right now.. also had a triple IPA from grains of wrath that was awesome some years back.
Holy crap, that video brought back some memories. I was stationed at Pendleton back in the 90s. I remember driving by the Dolly Parton reactors many times on I-5 out of O'side. 😀
Beer that got me into craft beer was probably Tropical Torpedo from Terrapin Brewing Company. It was my first IPA and I didn't fall in love but there was something about it I kept thinking about. And then I found Luau Krunkles at some point from Terrapin as well and I was sold. And then branched out into Trappist ales and whatever else I could get my hands on. And now I'm homebrewing and devoting my life to it.
My favorite IPA is honestly a hazy lactose baby called "Intergalactic Space Circus" from Creature Comforts brewing company in Athens, GA out here where I am. It's wonderful. Sometimes a little hard to find down here. Limited releases once a year ish. But worth the hunt
You got me in to home brewing CH…you did.
Stone brewing opened the year I graduated high-school 1996. I've loved so much of what they made and still do. But when you mentioned pizza port I lost my shit. Me and my best friend happened upon it one day and always found time ti make it back...
Beer buddies (the appetizer)and a couple pitchers of killer brew always made our day.
Definitely brings back memories!
I love it braj 🍻
Sierra Nevada back in the early 90s, there was a corner pub near my work in New Brunswick, NJ that would serve it on tap.
My favorite sour is Strawberry Rhubarb by Great Divide Brewing Co.
It’s excellent!
IPA: Heady Topper, Electric Jellyfish,
For wild stuff: New Realm's Southern Tee Sour Ale
The first Real beer for me was Arrogant Bastard . Now it is Port's "Mongo". These brews have inspired me to home brew. 20 plus years and loving it! Great vide
o, thanks.
I'm from Australia and my absolute favourite beer that also got me into craft brewing is Feral Brewing Co Biggie Juice West coast IPA.
Julius from Treehouse got me started when I was invited by a cousin to check out a brew day
Coopers Pale Ale is my all time go to, delicious on tap. Nice video CH, 👍
On a plane in the early 2000s reading popular science that someone left behind when I came upon the Heady Topper article. That beer got me into IPAs
My personal Top 5
1. Blazed Orange by Hopbutcher
2. Happy Hopps > Pliny by Russian river
3. Fuzzy logic by bottle logic
4. Focal banger> Heady by alchemists
5. Heavy squeeze by Alter
Really all comes down to each city has a beer there known for and that’s what I drink.
Blazed orange - nice choice
Yea'Buddy! Pure quality braj... Cheers and Happy Holidays amigo
The beer that got me into liking beer was something served to me in a pub in Germany. It was a hefeweizen and I have been hooked ever since. The youtube channel that got me interested in brewing beer was Beer and Bar B Q with Larry, but the channel that actually made me think "Hey, I can do this!" was right here! So thank you man. I'm going to go carb up my newest batch right now for my holiday party this weekend, and I'm using the "Maurey Shuffle". That's what I call it anyway when I force carb. LOL
Great video! my favorite right now is the Pineapple Express from Draught Works in Missoula, MT
Sailors Grave IPA got me into craft beer. And the owner got me into home brewing 🍻
The Blueberry Wheat beer at my local brew pub sent me the way of the homebrew. Hoembrew 4 Life helped me make it happen! Cheers man!
Greatest 8 mins I’ve watched on UA-cam in a while. Ur a Legend dude 👍🏽 subbed
Best- guiness in Ireland
Got me into craft - Elliot ness
Got me thinking about brewing - Brett Saison
Perfect go to for all occasions- two hearted ale
Bells Hopslam - back in the day they would release it in February and I would have to hunt it down at a local beer store.
Ghost in the machine by Parish Brewing. It's high in alcohol, but they blend everything so nice, you don't notice until you've had 3 and standup.
This shit was hilarious. My fav beer is whatever the hell I’m in the mood for.
This is a great video dude! You’re really funny and I love the less serious approach to a beer video. Anyways, the IPA that got me into craft is called Tower Station IPA by Mother Road Brewing. They’re from Flagstaff Arizona which is only a couple hours from where I’m at near chandler. Great citra dominant ipa and very well priced. Nothing complicated or too complex. Just a well done unfiltered ipa that leans more west coast. Nowadays my favorite is Spellbinder by Wren House which is even closer to me. It’s an amazing hazy ipa, that i believe is dry hopped with tons of mosaic and citra. Whirlpool hop is cascade I believe. Huge pineapple, tangerine, and ripe strawberries on the flavor and aroma. There’s a nice dankyness as well. Finishes relatively dry and is an Arizona favorite. Won Gold at a the great American beer festival in 2020. so damn good.
Ommegang brewery ...Seeing a caged cork, big bottle beer in the late 90"s opened my eyes to greater tastes than the standard American lagers...runners up ..Sam Adams, Anchor steam, Sierra Nevada, and Sam Smith nut brown
Swami's good stuff, and fortunately we can get it in my neck of the woods. My favorite all time beer was Stochasticity Project's Grapefruit Slam, but it's long gone. I'd say for right now it's a tie between Black Plague's Nyjah and Mason Ale Works' Bride of Dankenstein.
Dogfish head 60 minute was the one that got me off of Natty's. Fog monster by rusty rail is my current top dog
I lived in SD in 1998. Hadn’t been back in decades. Tried Swami’s when I was back just based on it being named after the surf spot and I was hooked. So much so I have ordered their swag to wear in eastern Canada.
One of your best videos, Braj! My favorite beer for a long time was Stone IPA. My parents used to live a couple of miles from their original brewery in Escondido and I loved going there to hang. Lately I have gravitated to Lagunitas IPA because the hops aren't quite as overpowering. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is my go to every day and I almost always have a corny keg of a clone in my keezer. Happy Holidays, my man.
Happy holidays!
It’s hard to say that I have a favorite beer, because I’m young and have many left to try, but I’m a big fan of Deschutes ipa. I’m a Wisconsinite, so I’ve had my fair share of IPA’s despite just turning 22- I believe this one is from Oregon. Milwaukee, Waukesha and La Crosse have some phenomenal breweries- I’ve really never gone wrong. Another phenomenal ipa is called Space Dust. I was drinking a couple at a local bar and realized, woah, I’m way more buzzed than I thought I would be. Come to find out it is 8.2%, which caught me be surprise because it went down very smooth.
First crafty that got me was Feral Brewing Biggie Juice, been hooked ever since.
Nashville is wild was just there a couple months back. Hopefully you had a chance to check out bearded iris or barrique while you were there. Awesome breweries!
A few years in Denver ruined me on IPA's. Huge fan of Saison. It's like champaign and a lager hooked up and had a totally legitimate love child.
I don't buy IPA beers very often, they're fairly easy to brew. Lately my go to beer to buy has been franziskaner or weihenstephaner weissbier, but if I want something hoppy pilsner urquell is hard to beat in my opinion.
For me it was Jai Alai from cigar city crewing company. Bring from south Florida you see it on every tap . A six place is $10 and you will not regret it .
Dogfish Head punkin is the beer that got me into drinking beers other than miller lite and yuengling. 60 min is still the only ipa that I can drink and not just fall asleep drinking lol love everything Dogfish does.
Fat Tire and their 1554 Black Lager were the two beers that convinced me to try brewing something other than a simple lager clone. I was on a camping trip in Wyoming about 25 years ago and accidentally picked up a 6 pack of Fat Tire because it was 'dark'. And later I found their 1554 was 'darker' still! Now I generally brew malty dark beers and ales. Plus it's easier to brew a tasty porter or stout - my mistakes are usually masked by the robust flavors. No fruit adjuncts allowed please! No sours either!
Pete’s wicked Ale got me into craft many years ago and on a trip to California I discovered RedTail Ale from
Mendocino
Hop Butcher double grid changed everything….. if you come to Chicago, give me a few days and I’ll make sure I have some for you!!!
Hop butcher!!
Flying dog's belgian ipa, raging b*tch, is a personal favorite. Sierra Nevada has exceptional examples of most styles including pale ale ipa and double ipa.
Favorite beer is a NEIPA called "Reality Cat" by Heyday Beer Co in Wellington, New Zealand
Some killer mullets there in Nashville.
The beer that changed it for me was a Californian IPA that we drank in a bar in Waikiki called a mango cart IPA also a rich Ale called the lava man.
brewdog punk ipa got me into all of this. hoptopod in serbia is amazing. belching beaver from the US, wild west in china and young brothers in hong kong
Green from Tree House a 7.5% bitter and juicy NEIPA that is only $15.20 for a 4 pack.
Broooooo Tree house anything! Juice machine is one of my favorites but those stouts🤤🤤🤤. Sucks thats its 3.5 hours away and the last time i had a tree house was during quarantine.😔
@@Fishing570 I’m 30 min away now so I go every couple of weeks 🤣🤣
@@mousetrapbrewing9566 so jealous
Best IPA I ever had was called doppelgänger from treehouse brewing company located in Massachusetts. You’ll probably have to go there if you want to score one.
Lots of great beers, but a trip to Russian River brewing Co. did it for me. Pliny the Elder dam delicious.
CH showering hungover sitting skinamax nude will always be an all time classic 😂
The first hoppy beer I had was reef donkey made in Tampa fl where I'm from.
That's what got me into ipas I would say.
Psychopathy from Madtree or Truth from Rhinegeist. Two great IPAs from Cincinnati.
I hate to say it, even now with the buyout, but Stone IPA... I'm from Nebraska and first time in San Diego visited a california pizza and asked what crafts they had. Brought me a Stone IPA saying it was local and it opened my eyes to craft. Before that I thought Blue Moon and Guinness were where it was at. To this day its still a solid IPA to me, esp considering west coast'ers
Living in Massachusetts neipa got me into brewing. Mainly because I said I could make it for cheaper lol. But this past weekend I made it out to tree house finally and it was about $20-30 a four pack
I'm all about local brews. Weekend Warrior from Double Nickel was my favorite for the longest time and got me interested in homebrewing. Within the last year though, Fuego from Tonewood has overtaken it. Perfect beer for all occasions, no notes, I'd drink it forever.
Too many to choose from so I'll go breweries.. Revision, Moonraker, Androit,Anchorage, Faction,Alameda Island,Lagunitas,Original Pattern
Commotion and DDH Commotion from Great Raft Brewery,, this has been the foundation of me getting into brewing and i try to make brews similar to these
Favorite IPA - Comrade Brewing, Superpower. Favorite Overall Beer - Station 26, Tangerine Cream
Anchorage brewing is the best of the best. I've had at least 60 different beers by them and no other brewery does it better for IPA's, or barrel aged beers! Hands down they are the king of the USA
my favorite beer is Stone & Wood Pacific Ale…it was made by a small independent brewery in Byron Bay Australia, but they’ve been bought out by Lion
it’s refreshing after a hot Summer day
Lol
My go to is definitely the truth from flying dog. I also don’t know that I’ve had anything from new Belgium that I didn’t like. Even the juice beers are solid.
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale - I still buy it once or twice a year for nostalgic vibes (an it still holds up)
Bless the British for inventing the best beer in the world.
My first beer trade was Pliny, ADWTD, HOTD Adam from the Wood, Boot Hill Killer, and some Swamis for a 24 pack of OG Hopslam.
Early 2000s GLBC Christmas Ale
2008ish Green Flash West Coast IPA (whenever they first made it)
2010ish Prairie Barrel Aged Bomb.
My first time brewing ever was with Beace from Jackie O’s like 3 days after my friend bought a 3 stage. We were at our local shop in college and he was there, my buddy struck a conversation and he came back with us to brew a batch. Was my buddy’s 2nd batch I think.
Nose nachos is now my new coke reference
Good call, I was thinking either Pliny or Swami. Great work thank you for the effort!
💯 🍺 ❤️
Swamis best an greatest bargain. In san diego. 6 tall ones. What a deal. Thanks for the shout out to O'side. Best beach city in north county!
Just Say it! What Skottie don’t know won’t hurt him.
Blue owl brewing- cool & the gang. Session earl grey sour. THE spot in ATX to get sours.
Shout-out to independence brewing as well. Texan pilsner and highboy double IPA series
Ghost in the machine by Parish Brewery. I still pause on the first sip to this day and think "damnit this is delicious".
Tripel Karmeliet, I first had it in a pub in Liège. After that I could never drink Budweiser again.
Favourite beer of all time is Wrassler's XXXX Stout by Porterhouse Brewing Company in Dublin.
It's brajtastic.
If you around Illinois or Wisconsin, try Young Blood Beer Company's Sours, they are next level!
My first ever IPA was stone. however the beer that started my obsession with IPAs was green flash west coast IPA. then followed Revolutions Anti-Hero. I miss green flash. if I had to drink one beer for the rest of my life it would be their west coast IPA. Has the perfect hoppy, piney, citrus mix. There has never been a beer like it. This is also the first beer that me and my dad enjoyed together when I turned 21. So its forever a staple in my life not only cause the taste but also cause the memories.
Best beer: stadsbrouwerij 013, so far so good. Its from a Dutch brewery and the main ingredient is Jasmine
New Belgium- anything voodoo ranger, nuff said.
Mosaic to my Ears by Devour in FL. They closed a couple of years ago.
My first craft beer was Flying Dog In-Heat Wheat. Against popular opinion I've loved wheat beers ever since 🍻
Yea flying dog is trash 🗑
I think I momentarily traveled back in time during your airport saga. Was that Chrono Trigger?
Nice catch!
My favorite right now is Bells Two Hearted Ale. I can get it at Walmart and Krogers.
Commercial beer got me into homebrewing, because it suck... My head was hurting all the time... My homebrew is like liquid herbal medicine..😂
