I agree on Great Notion. We took a vacation to Portland recently and the first night we were there, I made sure to pack the fridge of our Vrbo with Great Notion beer. Leikam Brewing up there had great beer too. They had one called Haziana Grande that was tasty.
great video as always. although i am partial to tree house as my favorite brewery, you didn't miss picking burial. they are phenomenal! much love from ATL.
Agree with the Burial top spot. I travel for a living and get to go to breweries all across the eastern US, nothing beats Asheville and nothing tops Burial. Cheers!
Man I agree with you. No dogs in breweries. I can’t stand it when they just start barking at each other and an owner is struggling to get one of them out to the patio. But here in my town, people bring dogs everywhere, Home Depot, grocery stores, you name it. I gotta get out of CA and try out some of these breweries. Cheers Braj
@@HOMEBREW4LIFE that’s a plan I do have. My brother lives about 3 hours from Knoxville, and we’re planning a summer trip to see him out there. So it’s an easy drive to hit up breweries for a weekend.
As someone with two dogs who’s spent a lot of time and effort on dog training, I WHOLE heartedly agree about no dogs. My dogs stay by my side and don’t bark at anything. A brewery isn’t a dog park. Matter of fact, we don’t go to dog parks either lol
Independence brewing is by FAR my favorite in Austin! It's the street in between penthouse and meanwhile. Good beer for awesome prices. Once in a blue moon they sell a $30 dollar for a 30 pack of sours. It's fantastic
Okay not only am i subscribed to your channel, I did it about the same time you moved. Your content has inspired me to start brewing again. Hooked up with some old brewing buddies too. Brew and video on brother, freind, dude, guy, get off my lawn, sit down shut up? Got to be close on one of those.
Sorry, I just got back from a trip, and I'm right there with you! Love Burial Brewing! I have probably purchased more beer and swag from them than any other brewery just to hold me over until I get back to Asheville. Every time I go, I try to visit different places and breweries, but Burial is always a REQUIREMENT as I love that place and their beer. Tim Gormley is a magician at creating amazing beers using commonsense techniques that the average person just doesn't think of. I've seen a few training videos with Tim and he just makes a ton of sense on techniques for modifying and flavoring beers without waste or jacking up your beer.
Couple places for ya. If you ever find yourself in Memphis be sure to check out Wiseacre Brewing. One other thing. You need to make a trip north to Grand Rapids MI. Great craft beer town. And don’t sleep on Cincinnati either
Deschutes in Bend OR was so cool! Bend is a sweet town! Have you been to any cities in Michigan? Curious what your thoughts are on the breweries of my home state. I moved to California and I definitely miss the feel of Michigan breweries. A couple good ones to try are New Holland, Atwater, Oddside, Saginaw and Unruly. Also throwing in Big Buck cause they do flights in deer antlers haha.
I live here in Michigan. I would love to hear his opinions. Obviously, everyone thinks Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo when they think of MI Craft beer but we have so many great cities.
Ashvelle is one heck of a beer town, plus it has a bunch of amazing restaurants. There are tons of amazing breweries that are within walking distance of each other. It has a great vibe, if you haven’t been I would definitely recommend adding it to your list. 😎🍺
Love the PDX representation - for the record, Great Notion turned over their kitchen to an awesome local Smokehouse/Taco Shop (Matt's) and it only improved things
Dude! I was just stranded in Pohland recently due to some blizzard and tried Great Notion and their food was delicious and their beer was solid. I just picked it randomly
Love how the comments is a debate about dogs v no dogs at breweries :). I totally hear you on the dogs that aren't well trained being kind of annoying, but at the same time as a dog owner myself - it's fun to have some place I can go with other fellow dog owners, knowing that our dogs are trained to be chill and just happy to be with us. Hard to enforce 'well behaved dogs' only so i totally get it.
Awesome vid, thank you. Ditto on the dogs in the microbreweries. ENOUGH Also totally get the "too many on tap" rant. New Micro just opened here and they had NO dark beers on tap. They had IPA , a Farmhouse, and seem all about their Czech taps that can pour you a glass of foam ( I want that?). Funky Buddha in Florida is great if you're in the state. Also, the town of Sanford Florida, a huge amount of micors all within a few blocks.
Shiii bro, I been drinking Sierra since 1986. It predates all of the breweries you've ever heard of (San Dieg wha?). My family lives in Chico. Your welcome anytime. Peace!
I remember that one time I hit a ball over the fence into a brewery. I didn't want my dad to find out, so I had to jump the fence to get it back. This huge beast of a dog chased me through the town. And that's why kids shouldn't be at breweries!
A bit bummed you had to exclude San Diego, I was there a couple of years ago and I loved some of the breweries. I was shocked how good Coronado Brewery was, I thought it was going to be a tourist trap place on an island. The beer and the vibe was amazing!
I’m right there with you when it comes to dogs at breweries. I’m a father of two boys so we would take them to breweries but they’re 25 and 19 now so they weren’t toddlers at the time. I’m a huge fan of Burial it’s one of my favorites in Asheville. I to are planning a trip to Treehouse sometime this spring/summer and I’m trying to hit up Russian River sometime this year. 🍻🍻🍻 also last summer I was driving back from Georgia and went through Knoxville and stopped by Pretentious to buy a 4pk and I thought it was a cool place but I literally was there less than 10 minutes tho.
Yo, if you end up driving to Tree House, definitely hit Troegs on the way. Went a few weeks ago and it’s easily my #1 now for sure. Does have kids, but the beer and food was WAY better than I expected.
Shout out to the early years CH! You look pretty much the same, but with a bared and hat. Tree House is cool, but if you go you will see kids and dogs, especially in the Charlton, MA location. And they have a 2 or 3 drink limit depending on the day. But it is fantastic beer, and the facility is really nice.
I’m hurt man! You gotta do a top 10 and at least 3 of these breweries gotta be up there: Noble Savage Other Half Vitamin Sea Green Cheek Monkish Highland Park Troon Root+Branch Tripping Animals J Wakefield Fidens Russian River Toppling Goliath Weldwerks The list goes on brother
Sorry but I lol during this whole video. Granted I had 3 Pliny the Younger clone beers. First, I love your videos. Second, There is not much that can stand up to Cali breweries coming from someone who is from Southern Cali. Third, I agree with Burial. I love Surf wax or as I say to my wife “Sex Wax”. Come to Charlotte NC. We got some goodies here. Love the content!
I’m glad I have a dog that I can take with me. He will not bark no matter what. He just stares at dogs when they bark at him. He always be chill no matter what. He’s a braj.
Imagine my surprise. First 2 seconds as I hear the words "top 5 breweries in america" I see Norrlands Guld. Probably the worst industrial lager from Sweden. Well most sold anyway, the Bud of Sweden.
These videos are missing a MBC......
You're speaking truth with no apologies or fear of offending anyone. I love it.
Cheers braj!
I agree on Great Notion. We took a vacation to Portland recently and the first night we were there, I made sure to pack the fridge of our Vrbo with Great Notion beer. Leikam Brewing up there had great beer too. They had one called Haziana Grande that was tasty.
Treehouse is the best brewery I’ve ever been to. Hand down. Charlton location.
Awesome video, great to see another one, been watching since I started brewing, the old gear videos are still some of my favorites on the topic!
Awesome, thank you!
I’ll be at Boston in early August also. Checking out trillium and treehouse during that trip for sure.
Great video. One of my faves in Portland is Cascade Barrel Brewing House. They have awesome sours.
Absolutely Asheville ! 100% agree! You got to come to Charlotte though... They got some banging breweries including burial. 🍻
Had a great time with you all at Grand Central. If you get too cold this winter, come to Florida for a visit.
I loved Burial so much on our American road trip. I still talk about it to all my mates back here in Australia. Hope I can go back one day.
Awesome video braj!
Burial is amazing beer is great and feels very special and original.
great video as always. although i am partial to tree house as my favorite brewery, you didn't miss picking burial. they are phenomenal! much love from ATL.
Thanks for the tips!
Agree with the Burial top spot. I travel for a living and get to go to breweries all across the eastern US, nothing beats Asheville and nothing tops Burial. Cheers!
Treehouse trip this summer?! Count me, my support dog and kids in. Choose your pours wisely. Only get 3 of them.
Man I agree with you. No dogs in breweries. I can’t stand it when they just start barking at each other and an owner is struggling to get one of them out to the patio. But here in my town, people bring dogs everywhere, Home Depot, grocery stores, you name it.

Cruise out to the south for a beer trip! You can do Knoxville and Asheville in the same weekend
@@HOMEBREW4LIFE that’s a plan I do have. My brother lives about 3 hours from Knoxville, and we’re planning a summer trip to see him out there. So it’s an easy drive to hit up breweries for a weekend.
My favorite thing about this "Top 5 Breweries" video is that over half of it is not talking about the breweries at all
As someone with two dogs who’s spent a lot of time and effort on dog training, I WHOLE heartedly agree about no dogs. My dogs stay by my side and don’t bark at anything. A brewery isn’t a dog park. Matter of fact, we don’t go to dog parks either lol
Humor is too good! It's almost a standup comedy show. 😂👍🏻

I love that you show the worst brewery in Sweden in the beginning. 😀
Always appreciate the old video game BGMs used in these videos. Makes me want to boot up Chronotrigger again.
Great video, Cheers from Scotland!
I love dogs in breweries. so long as people only bring well behaved dogs.
Great Video! Very entertaining and informative.
nice video , good to know you are still here on youtube.
Great Notion is so damn good!!! My beer cave stocks a lot of their stuff and it's an instant buy!!
DSSOLVR has to be a close second though in terms of the Asheville scene I feel. Oh wait. Opinions are subjective!! Haha. Thanks for the videos man
Thanks for watching!
Some great breweries on there I hope to get to all five of them at some point in my life! Cheers, Braj 🍻
Snagging pizza. See you soon!

Lets see that top 5 favorite bar rescue bars next. Shout out to the man Jon Taffer and his beer pouring abilities

OMG this song brings it back :) love that video game
I should mention it the first song that played before you started mention the breweries.
Florida is definitely below the radar…good shout on Tampa/CW/St Pete…there’s also a shockingly good scene in Miami and Jacksonville… 😮

Good to know! Solid feedback braj
man....that's a great turn of events! Podnah's and Matt's are some of the best BBQ outside of Texas I have ever had.

You wont disappoint!

If you ever get to Ohio, check out Jackie Os. And in Tennessee hit up Borrique. Fire breweries as well.
Good looking out!
Great vid as always! Cheers!

BURIAL!! The best. Great chioce.
1000% agree with Burial. Beers are always good, no matter the style, and always have a distinct Burial flavor
Chea braj!
Made the rounds in Ashville a few years ago. Would agree on Burial.
You are a great talent.
Thank you! Cheers!
Couldn't agree more on too many beers offered at breweries. Follow the KISS program (Keep It Simple Stupid)!
I'm going to Austin for a week in March. My hotel is less than 5 miles from Lazarus Brewing. Can't wait.
There you go! 🍻

You should go to Cervecería Hercules in Mexico. One of the coolest spots in all of North America

Loved the long intro😂
Burial fu*ks
Tree House Charlton is my all time favorite though
There's a Sierra Nevada in Asheville. It's insane. Check it out
Ill be there soon!
starting the list off in florida and texas, ok we're slumming a little early but lets see where the list winds up.
You got this!
Im currently going through my dark lager phase
💯
The brajlord is at it again!
Visit some Chicago breweries 🍻
Looks like someone is up for a trip to michigan!
Thats what everyone is saying!
CH you need to come up to the northeast and check out the breweries in New England.
Cant wait!
They bring their dogs because it gets them attention.
Got the Festbier locked in over here . Copper beers for the win.
I was real mad until you mentioned treehouse haha. Bold title for not coming up to New England.
I should edit “My fav breweries Ive been to” 🤷♂️
I watch a lot of brewtube - and yours are the only ones consistently show to my wife because I m ow she will think they’re hilarious
Don’t bring a kid. Pay a babysitter a fortune to grab an 8 dollar pint for 50 percent of America.
CH is my new travel agent. Beers across America.
Trillium in Boston. The best.
Crafty bastard is one of my favorite breweries in Knoxville!
Ha i live right next to it!
I wish breweries were more common in Aus. Every town should have one!
Agreed!
I’m hurt man! You gotta do a top 10 and at least 3 of these breweries gotta be up there:
Noble Savage
Other Half
Vitamin Sea
Green Cheek
Monkish
Highland Park
Troon
Root+Branch
Tripping Animals
J Wakefield
Fidens
Russian River
Toppling Goliath
Weldwerks
The list goes on brother
monkish and weldworks..... too goo!! They are up there on my list... Green Cheek kinda fell off though imo.
@@Menacetechnology I’m surprised to hear that about Green Cheek. Feels like they’ve been consistently improving and continuing to expand themselves
I really enjoyed sampling some of the breweries in Asheville last year. - A Y2K survivor
We are in this together… #y2k
Have you Colorado? Feeling slighted. BTW - poured my 2nd Fresh Squeezed just before playing this. Cheers!
Good timing!
Beer chugging is now no longer mandatory? You’ve changed CH
Kidding love the video brother
Fenton, leeds England
Cheers Braj!
Altered Beast! Power up!
No Michigan breweries??? 🤔 best ipas in the land 🙌
Tree house is the best brewery in the country
ya braj ! Ain't no kids or dogs at dive bars. I need to get your info so I can send you some Gigantic Brewing beers. Best beer in Portland.
Need you on the stream soon!

Ill be up there soon!
I've had plenty of just god awful beer from Burial
Hey, LFG
Honestly I find the whole hyper modern family friendly breweries overdone. I wanna nice dark quite place to get drunk in
