- Out on the water in search of one legal halibut and I find a 40" tanker! My day is already more than made with that fish and I get another bite from another great fish. Very blessed this day.
Nice work, Mr. Markus! Always fun to see you having a good day on the water. Good to hear you are being safe by staying with friends. Tight lines!
Thanks bro!
It's the last video. I enjoyed every video you had and watched them from start to finish. I'm not bored, it feels like it was me catching fishes. 😁
Hope there is a new video soon, God bless and see you next time. 👍
Love the video nice fish!
Those things are hogs...You're killing it down there. Fish giggles crack me up. I realized that everybody's got one when they land a fish
What city is closest? Sf?
Great video. I would like to ask you where this is in California
The Central Coast
@@Mr.Markus. thank you so much
I have a question, does the boat floor smell like fish?
No not really. I clean it really good after every trip.
Oh boy you dont believe how happy I am to watch your videos, im studying for my exams and cant fish. By the way hello from Russia
Dude this comment makes me happy to share vids on UA-cam! Sometimes I’m not very motivated to make them but this gets me motivated for sure! So thanks and stoked you like the vids.
Great fish, I grew up fishing there in the 70's and used to go back once in awhile. Sure do miss the place.
It’s my favorite place. I can’t imagine how good the fishing was back then.
Yo my man What's the Verdict?! You are funny when you catch em. That's how I get like a little kid. Keep em coming the videos. I just found you and I subscribed.
Thanks Bro! I appreciate the subscription. I gotta get to work on the editing. I got a bunch of footage of some awesome days and some BIG FISH so stay tuned!!
@@Mr.Markus. 10.4
It's great to see someone so passionate. If you always get these sized fish you don't need to buy meat 😅
Its my favorite thing to do.
Hey Mark! Good to see that you are all grown up and fishing so much! I’m Brian’s mom. I fished with my dad when I was a kid and one time I caught a 75 lb halibut. Good memories. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks! I’ll definitely keep it up. It’s pretty much all I think about nowadays. Haha.
That's one Hell of a butt, nice !
Awesome fishing dude, I would love to fish for halibut because they are my favorite fish to eat by far 😋
I'm in Ontario Canada so I have to settle for Rainbow trout, Lake Trout and whitefish. There all fun to catch, but they definitely don't taste like Halibut. Lol
Thanx for the video
Rite on man them hallies are the best eaten I’d eat that baked w mainiase and almond crumbles ole grandpas way up in Canada we get them at 60-70lbs all day!! Sweet rip keep on keeping on brother
The buddy system works well… if you have buddies with kayaks. Have you caught them in January before?
December and January are the 2 months I haven't gotten one. They're around just in very small numbers.
@@Mr.Markus. thanks good to know. I’ll probably give it a go this sat and will try to keep my hopes in check. 😆
@Mr. Markus Was fortunate to get a 30 incher yesterday on a smelt. Very little bait around. It would be great if you would be willing to show your technique on braining in a future vid if your open to it. 🤙🏻
@@mattsbell5019 Very nice Matt! I actually just got off the water. And yeah, no bait around. I couldn’t even find any jack smelt! But I did find a beautiful 32 incher on my way in. Got her on dead squid. I’d be down to make a vid about proper braining but I’m way behind on my videos. I haven’t even posted a single video from 2021 yet. Hahaha. And it was the best year I’ve ever had. Maybe I’ll just make one of specifically how to brain a fish, rather than the whole day of fishing.
@@Mr.Markus. dude, that’s great you made it out despite the wind and got a nice January fish in the process. Sounds like lots of good content to look forward to. I’m looking forward to seeing that dinosaur you pulled up.
Hes pulling out fish after fish like in the cartoon. xD
Gotta come to Norway one day, dude - get yourself a 200-pounder
I would absolutely love that.
Me when I catch a 25” hali can’t wait till I get one of these babies #shorefishin
What a stud halibut.
Where are you fishing out of? Looks like great conditions.
The Central Coast of California.
Brooo so sick super happy for u can’t wait for this season man I could never get out of that 29” range 🤣till one day I was blessed with the 37 and 42” brother keep posting !!!🤙
Sorry bro u will never know where this spots at mark will never tell u it’s just how it is man 🤙
@@BigBaitsBigFish Gotta stay on that GRIND!
@@Mr.Markus. I did me and my buddy got limits my 37” was 32 pounds bleed out my 42” was 30 pounds I let a 24” go and gave a guy one for helping me out at the landing 🤙
Great catch and love how you are able to manage multiple rods. Hope I will able to join you one of these days.
The Fish Giggles are real!
Sometimes you just can't control it! haha
Big BUTTS drive me nuts !!!!!
You prefer double treble on your trap rig ?
Trade you BFT for Halibut fillets
Love the videos THX
Yeah double treble. And I've got just as much BFT in the freezer as I do halibut already. Sorry bud.
I MUCH prefer smelt to sardines or chovies. They live longer and their movement attracts more attention. ‘Can’t go wrong!
I’ve always gotten way more bites on sardines. But that’s probably because I fish them way more often. Haha. I give smelt a hard time but they’re actually pretty sweet.
SUPER FISH 🐟
Thanks!
Nice Catches by the way ! Awesome !
Grunion are Smelt
Catching sick fish left and right and all I’m thinking is “how is he not freezing in shorts with his legs soaked?” Lol
Solid question
We built different lol
It was like 75 degrees out! Plenty warm.
I Will fish one day.....
Nice live well 😂😂😂
Did you see those halibuts on your fish finder
No I didn’t. I’ve never marked what I knew was a halibut, because they always lay on the bottom. I’ve only marked them on my fish finder when I had them hooked and could see them as I pull them up.
Damn it’s cold af how you in shorts and a tank?! Lol
Idk about him but I run super hot and getting wet on the launch I just stay in board shorts and my fishing shirt all day I get heated up during the launch lol 🤣🤙
Hahaha. This didn't happen this month.
where are you from?
I live on the Central Coast of California.
How do you kill them after you catch them? What is the best way in your opinion?
Brainspike. It’s the only method that actually works with these fish. They’re like zombies if you bleed them out or club them in the head. They’ll come back to life. But a blade through the skull into the brain works everytime. If you’re gonna kill them you really shouldn’t drag out the death.
and yet another question
what do you do with the fish? If you cook it can you make a cooking video
I share a lot with friends and family and I eat a ton of it. I’ve been thinking about making some cooking videos. I love to cook just haven’t gotten around to making a video yet.
Very nice.... great day.
What kayak do you use
It’s a 2016 Hobie Outback
You aren’t scared of sharks flipping your kayak over?
Not really. It is a possibility, but that sort of thing is super rare. Theres tons of kayaks on the ocean every day all over the world and it rarely ever happens. I'm not worried about it enough to stop doing one of my favorite activities ever.
@@Mr.Markus. i respect your optimism.. I however thought the same thing snorkeling off the coast of Hawaii and seen a large ominous shadow comming from the bottom of the ocean and it was a huge whale shark. It didn’t bite me but it was just curious and wanted to swim with us. There’s beautiful footage on UA-cam of people swimming with it but litera I literally peed on my self trynna swim back to the boat and the ocean has been cancelled for me ever since. I love fishing but my inner blackness won’t allow me to get on a kayak or a boat. I know a guy named mr tibbs and a orca breached the water and knocked him off his boat and he died. “It’s rare” is the famous last words of a lot of people who love extreme activities. Imma knock on wood for you tho! ✊🏾
@@theadskipper2928 Well Thanks. Haha. Yeah we definitely have different outlooks on things. I went to Mexico a few years back specifically to swim with whale sharks and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life!
How many sharks do you think even come close to you ? Like ones that would do damage
@@beatnuts323 I have no clue. They are around for most of the year in the area I fish. And generally they are the size that could do damage. Big white sharks. But I’ve only seen 2 big ones, one kinda big(like 10 foot) and then a batshit crazy hammerhead that probably couldn’t do much to me as long as I stayed in the kayak. And that’s in like 8 years. I dunno if that helps.
