Great video Markus! I hit you up a couple months ago when I was building my rod rack. Your design of that rack is phenomenal! Makes handling multiple rods very efficient. Ive received numerous compliments on it up here In NorCal and I tell people it was all you and they should subscribe to your channel. Thanx for posting these, its improved my Calibut game immensely. Fair winds and following seas my friend. Hope to fish with you someday
No idea why I’m loving your videos, I hate fishing. 😂🤣 Please continue though! Love to see more of the 3rd person camera, specially when you were getting excited. Lol
Uhmmm possibly sometime. I honestly didn’t really take UA-cam very seriously just kinda made the vids cause I enjoy making them but I should probably start getting a little more serious about it. Thanks for watching them!
This video was a rollercoaster! The fish giggles always bring a smile to my face haha But man does this look fun! The fog and quiet really sound nice, I wish I could try this but knowing me I’ll probably drop all my equipment and capsize in like 5 minutes lol. Anyway, great video as usual.
Hahaha. Thanks! it was definitely a rollercoaster out there that day. And if you really wanna do this just start out in a lake. Spend days out there getting used to movements and balance and comfortable paddling. Then wait til it’s very calm out on the ocean and take it for a ride. You could totally do it. I think so at least.
I’ve never really weighed the edibles to find out but it’s pretty darn good. These fish have very small stomach cavities so the yield is nice. I think the 36 incher weighed right at 20 pounds. Had to have gotten 10-15 pounds of filets from it.
Hey, I was wondering, do you fish for fun or do you eat/sell the fish you catch? I mean I see that you keep some of them but I'm just curious of what you do with them.
I just fish for fun and to provide fresh fish for a lot of friends family and coworkers. I don’t sell any. I just think it’s better for people to get food locally on a small scale instead of from some huge horrible fishing operation on the other side of the planet. So I provide that for people I like.
Bro I had a day like that in May I hooked up on 9 before I got the 1st on the boat. Ended the day with limit of 30+ inch halibut. Your 40 incher is coming
Woah that sounds like a wildly frustrating day but you stuck to it and it paid off. Well done man. And it was a 40 pounder I was looking for. I’ve gotten lots of 40 inchers. But I actually got the 40 pounder I was looking for like 2 weeks ago. 48.5 inches long and 41 pounds. So stoked!!!!
Hahaha. It’s a risky maneuver that often times just ends with a huge tangle but sometimes it gets the job done. And I’ll definitely keep posting but I got like a regular job so I can’t do it nearly as much as I would like.
@@Mr.Markus. I don’t know how the money side of making videos work, but you should consider doing it full time. You were the first fishing channel I subscribed to and I’d do my part support you. You have a great personality for being on the camera. Even my 11-year old son (who never watches) said “this guy is funny” when I showed him one of your videos.
I’m good man thanks. I don’t take UA-cam very seriously so haven’t put anything together in a while. I’ll get on it. I got tons of good footage sitting on my hard drive.
Some of them are ok to eat I’ve heard. I’m not a big fan of killing sharks though. I’ve eaten Thresher before and it was pretty delicious. That’s probably the only one I would harvest.
I run a 3 way swivel. About a foot of leader down to the weight. My weight changes depending on current and/or wind, but usually between 2 and 6 ounces. And then I run about 5 feet of leader to my hooks. Two size 4 treble hooks with a sliding snell knot. And my line is all 40 pound.
I’m a professional crastinator bro. Haha. And I don’t take UA-cam nearly as seriously as I should. Turns out people actually watch my videos. I haven’t posted a single video from this year and it’s probably been the best year I’ve ever had. So many big fish. I’ll get into it.
@@Mr.Markus. today my buddy got a 52 “ bro!!!so fucking huge mouth could fit a small tuna in it like 50 pounds in 50’ of water I don’t have ur number other wise I’d give U more details I will not say on here but huge Spanish Mac 30 lb fluro 52” so fuxking massive I got a 30” slab and 5 sharks and 2 shakers
hey dude! you're an awesome fisherman and i love ur stuff, but from fisherman to fisherman please kill the fish after you have fully caught it. just making it suffer is not the way to go, bleeding them makes em taste better and puts them out of their misery.
First thing I do once I get the fish on the clip is brain spike them and bleed them. I just edit it out cause lots of people don’t like to see the blood.
@@Mr.Markus. I can’t believe how many people call you out about this like they’re fish an games or something lol. Real anglers know what you’re doing behind the scenes. Just curious what rods are you using? I got a shimano travala and a lumiglas I use for halibut
Wild day. I choked on my tea when your gaff broke. Nice save.
No kidding
The little monologue at the end is brilliant. Every fisherman needs to hear that regularly.
This is so cool Markus. Thanks for showing us 🎣
That was a ride and a half! I screamed and huffed with you at the big one, damn that is a feeling only fishermen know ^^.

maybe you grabbed your salmon Plano instead of the halibut Plano lol. almost 30k subs bro!
Two very nice sized halibut!

That angel shark had a panic attack
lol feels bro, i lost 3 or 4 nice flatties right at the yak the other day, managed to finish off the day with 2 but it was rough.
All part of the game. Way to stick with it and get some good ones dude!
Mr Markus maybe you can show me how you do your set up. I might be going out to try my luck
Lemme know if you’re gonna go. I can show you what I run Fernando
I bet that redemption fish deserved a victory bowl😆😆
Once I was back on land of course. Haha
Gets two awesome fish... shark comes up and steals them off the stringer. Thanks, guy!

That must be so painful for the fish. To stay alive for a long time with the hook.
Dude I would hate to go missing out in the middle of nowhere…. Be safe 👀
Yeah me as well. Lots of preparation and experience is necessary to stay safe out there.
Idk how you make me watch the entire video
Looks pretty sharky. LOL
It’s always the calmest waves how?
Yt recommendation never fails..
DO A VIDEO OF YOU SHOWING ALL YOUR GEAR AND SET UP
Omg! Don't look now but I think there's a hammerhead behind you!! Lmao
how do you get to the middle of nowhere on the ocean with just a kayak?
I’m just like a mile from the beach.
Hope you are doing well. Haven't seen you upload in a bit.

Isn’t it illegal to fish with 2 fishing rods?
TESTED!
He might have broken his hook thing (I'm no fisher, sorry) but atleast he got a spear now :^D
Someone put grease on your hooks or what??lol there been quite a few sharks recently.joe hooked into3 one day.are any of those sharks good to eat??

He needs a bigger boat lol
Nice nice ... I am catching their smaller cousins 😂😁🎣🎣🐟🐟
You might need a bigger boat for all these big boys
We call them monkfish in uk
What jig is that.
It’s a bucktail with a grub as a trailer.
U running a trailer on ur jig ?
Not nowadays. I did run one for a few months but didn’t like how it was going. Didn’t get the movement out of the grub that I wanted

Aren't you afraid of the sharks? What if you trip over and they get you? Be safe man!
No I’m not afraid of them. I definitely don’t wanna meet one but they’re not out there looking for humans to eat. We taste gross I guess.
I’m thinking you pronounce it “Holly butt” but idk
Did you sale tham Or eat?
