Playing on tour and doing it for a living takes $ to make it all possible. Thanks for the very rare shot of the amount won by showing the giant check. I wish other tournament's trophy ceremonies showed this too. Wish they made more. But 8k for a tournament has to help. Great coverage and tournament, thankyou.
@@Chubbydippin The payouts are listed clearly for all the events on the PDGA site (also projected before the event, this get affected a bit by Ties and such). I for one have seen a check way to often imo, in some event they had accidently ordered the piece with the wrong year even ;P
@@Iliyena87 I'm just pointing it out because it was included during the trophy presentation at the end of a tournament, highlight, final round clip like this one. The winning purse($$) is almost never included in video clips like this one "does". Just seems so easy to leave out a few of the hundred references to "circle" in the commentary and take 2 seconds include/say what the winner's earnings are. Sure doesn't seem to be difficult or a problem to mention $ during skins rounds on EVERY hole.

What a relief! A real woman winning a professional woman division 🙌🏼 Hallelujah! It is so clear to see Ryan throws so much further than the rest, besides maybe Mydtling who’s got natural young lady estrogen talent and not watered down testes and testosterone.
Ryan needs to give up FPO. How can you put a target on your back and expect people not to look at it, comment about it, AND take shots at it. Ryan wants to be a trans “hero” but wants NONE of the backlash. Time to go with your MA1 talent.

She is also legally allowed to play FPO. She meets the rules/criteria to play FPO and doesn't deserve all the hate speech thrown her way. You can disagree but there is no need to degrade her in the comment section

Now, all respect to those with the courage to follow their hearts and live as trans women and men, however, Ryan has no business competing in the Female Professional Open!!
Developing from youth to adult as a biological male gives an athlete a decided advantage when competing with women - it is the entire reason there is the "FPO".
"MPO" is a "mixed" division and used to include both male and female athletes. The DGPT decided to create a protected, female only division so that female athletes have a place to compete amongst themselves. This is true for virtually every professional and even amateur sport.
Biological male trans athletes forcing their way into female protected divisions is nothing less than a twisted expression of male privilege. They are flexing a believed "right" to be included in female divisions, regardless of the harm it does to female competitors. It is offensive, even for those of us who in general support the right of people to make their own decisions to live however they choose, include those who transition gender.
You sir, are an immense breath of fresh air. It restores my faith in humanity that there are people out there who don't need to demean trans people's existence while also having a strong position that women's sports should be trans-exclusionary. It feels like there is room for a real conversation. Respect.
@@pocketacessuited I can’t, and won’t respond to the people who make crass comments, but at the same time, Natalie does have a biological advantage. No ill will toward her one bit, but I’m afraid there won’t be enough participants in a separate trans division. Not sure what the answer is.
There are at least 2 trans women (I think it might be 4 but I am not certain) in the field this weekend. Except from a few words you did the post as a personal opinion, almost well done.
I truly want everyone to be happy, the sport is to small go be excluding so lets keep a friendly tone and let science do a few more rounds over the world too see for sure that it's all by the book and not just popular opinion, the requirements set by PDGA/DGPT being very strict should just let the actual length be almost the only factor and that might not have had anything to with the born gender.

Heres a quote from last year from the very narcissist who sued their way back into FPO- "They are going to burn with me." A narcissist has never spoken more truly than that.
Definitely not the right thing to say if you want people to be sympathetic to your cause. But trying to play the sport that aligns with your gender identity doesn't make someone a narcissist. You may feel they are misguided in that and I will respect that.
I appreciate your sentiment but, any biological male that wants to athletically compete against and get beat by teenage girls is the absolute definition of a narcissist.

Serious question regardless of one's opinion on Natalie Ryan's inclusion on Tour.
I'm curious where she ranks in the FPO in average driving distance (or similar statistic). Is she the dominant power player on tour? In the top quartile? Again, I'm not debating anything. So many people on here reference her power so I made me curious. Does the DGPA keep those statistics like the PGA does?
Ultimately, I don't think it matters. NR could be #1 in drive distance or #50 and people would still take issue. But people bring this up a lot as their rationale. Cheers.
The stats are available, but just watch a live competition and see for yourself. Natalie regularly outdrives most of the women and constantly misses out on eagle opportunities. These are the same traits that you will see from the longest driving men in the MPO. Having a long drive doesn't "guarantee" you the eagle, but it makes the birdie a helluva lot more achievable.

It would be an overstep to assert that FPO is "more popular than ever" since the NR controversy. Honestly, it's tough to say how popular the sport really is right now, post-pandemic boom. I know it has fallen off quite a bit since it's peak 2 - 3 years back. As such, it's also an overstep to state it's now less popular b/c of NR. Anyway, thanks for making me clarify.
